And yet Jason married Sam. He choose Sam. Again and again. Even when Drew (Billy Miller) declared he didn’t want to know the truth because he might be a bad person and that he loved Liz. He found out still chose Sam. Men who choose another woman don’t love Liz.

Grieving is not an excuse for drinking, for cheating or for treating her that way. And she was giving him grace when it was just the drinking. But she doesn’t have to show him grace for bringing some strange woman home. She spent way too much time making excuses for Lucky’s addiction to do that again.
People with substance abuse issues who have been in recovery know that they are responsible for their behaviors. Being a partner, friend or family member to someone active in their addiction is not an easy thing and you can have empathy for them but that doesn't mean you also have to be in the splash zone of the addiction either. In this particular situation she told him she would talk to him when he's sober. That's giving him a chance, also talking to him while he's drunk isn't going to produce any form of healthy communication.
Grief doesn't excuse treating ppl badly. But Liz has already dealt with a partner who had an addiction (Lucky). She's protecting herself and her kids by walking away
