Watching this again made me realize when Jake asked how he'd know if the ikran is for him it will try to kill him which is a similar scenario when Neytiri tried to kill Jake earlier in the movie. Eventually Jake was able to 'seal the bond' with both of them. Amazing!
I was 21 when Avatar came out. Entering my last semester of college, about to turn 22, in a pivotal place in my life. It was an irreplaceable experience that I’ll never forget and wish I could remember even more. It was the first time a movie really DID something to me. By inviting me so deeply into that rich, beautiful world, it stimulated my imagination in ways it never had before, and I felt so much through the story’s layering of the forces that oppose it. It wasn’t just a story; it was personal, like an inner process unfolding around me in this 3D world. I saw it again the next week, and the impact deepened, but there was nothing like that first experience. It came at the perfect time in my life, when my mind and future were expanding, and so much more seemed possible than I had ever felt before. A lot has changed now, and I’d pay a lot to inhabit that experience once again. But since I can’t, I’m feeling into gratitude that I got to have that experience, because for me, it was about as life-affirming as it gets.
He still could’ve called on his first one. Just because he bonded with the big red one doesn’t mean he lost the bond with the other. Especially since he released the big red one at the end, it would make sense that he could still call on his original mount.

I was 9 when I saw this movie. I saw it with my father, first time in 3D. I firmly believe it is the best movie ever made regarding an alien civilization, human greed, environmental concerns, spirituality and the hero's journey.
Let the haters hate. This is a movie about greed vs the environment. It's about finding family based on values, not appearance. And it's amazingly fun to watch.
I took my son to see this movie in Oak Grove, Louisiana. They have an old movie theater from the 50s. Great movie and atmosphere. Can’t wait to take him to part two.
This was so amazing to see in a 3D Imax theatre. Every single blade of grass was in 3D throughout the entire movie. Not like some so-called 3D movies back when this was a trend. Some movies had only a scene or 2 in 3D, and did goofy stuff like throwing a ball at the camera or what have you. In Avatar, every scene had a depth of field that felt real, like you were in this fantastical setting. Granted, it was hokey as hell, with the Dances with Wolves plot. Even some of the poses the characters assume in this scene are just silly. And 'unobtanium,' really? They couldn't do better than that? Sheesh. But the visuals were so amazing it was worth it. Looking at it now on a flat screen, it just feels like the silliness is more pronounced, since I'm not being distracted by a 3D lizard-bird looking like he wants to chew my face off. I can't do this movie in 2D. It just feels like a mediocre anime or something.

You don’t have to control/steeer too much…
Very efficient In a fight: you can just think of what you want and it does it…
Сложно поверить что этому фильму уже 14 лет. ... преклоняюсь перед командой, снявшей этот шедевр!
I was around 12yrs old when this came out and now that I think about it I'm truly grateful and lucky to have witnessed and experience an incredible movie in the cinema. Watching this movie the first time in the cinema both in HD and 3D was an absolute immersive experience with its incredible cgi and breathtaking sceneries.
I'm so jealous of the kids that grew up in the 2000s, you guys had lord of the rings, transformers movies that weren't cardboard boxes or cartoons because cgi wasn't advanced enough, and you saw the avengers...what a childhood
Same experience here
The movie was just as amazing as an adult LOL. Masterpiece
I was like 12 when this is comeout. Dream to ride Ikran and make a bond with them. Happyly flying across the universe.
Now im 23 when i relize how cruel the world is.
Same man. same
I can’t speak the language at all, but I’ve picked up certain words. He’s saying things like “Don’t be afraid warrior.” In a mocking tone. He says something else right before Jake hisses at his ikran, but I don’t know what the translation is.
I love how Tsu’tey is mocking Jake the entire time, even while he’s speaking Na’vi.

He said that morons going to die
He said things like “Moron” or “idiot”
It's literally all in the subtitles
@@nathanmahoney6223 not all of it. Tsu’tey says something right before Jake hisses that isn’t translated. Just as neytiri says something right after Jake tames the ikran but isn’t translated.
I remember i watched on TV and the subtitle is "he pick the most ferocious one"
Remember guys this world and these creatures might actually exist somewhere in the Universe. The universe is so enormous, I can't even imagine what kind of living creatures might even exist.

"Shutup and fly straight"
Jake Sully's hissing is another level bruh
But since I can’t, I’m feeling into gratitude that I got to have that experience, because for me, it was about as life-affirming as it gets.
when you get to the final boss after 300+ hours of gameplay 0:59
This film doesn't look like it's from 2009
But it’s release year is 2009 when I was born
This film is gonna stand up to the test of time
The said the 2nd was has been in the works since 2010. Hopefully the underwater world is amazing.
The scripts from 1990

Then he abandoned him for the Big Red one... Poor Ikran
na, at the end he let Turomakto go free
He still could’ve called on his first one. Just because he bonded with the big red one doesn’t mean he lost the bond with the other. Especially since he released the big red one at the end, it would make sense that he could still call on his original mount.
Super

I was in primary school when this came out. Only 10 years old. Time surely flies. I remember simping for Jake haha despite my young age. Internet was not even common those days so I saved all my recess pocket money to buy this movie in Dvd. When I bought it, I was so damn happy I even borrowed it to my best friend. She loved it too just as I and a simper too for Jake
Wonder how many people have come inside you since then.

Even after watching the way of water, this movie still looks fantastic

My god the work that the cgi, special effects crew put into this movie is just unparalleled. This movie is insanely impressive.
What’s more, it’ll look good indefinitely.
The "How I train my dragon" Moment of this excellent movie 😍. Still gives me goosebumps all the time I rewatch. Wanna have such an amazing bond with another human beiing or an animal, too 🥰.
Enjoy this movie cause you will never find it in this world.
That is my mum's favourite scene in Avatar. It reminded her a lot of HTTYD
I was 9 when I saw this movie. I saw it with my father, first time in 3D. I firmly believe it is the best movie ever made regarding an alien civilization, human greed, environmental concerns, spirituality and the hero's journey.
try alien...dont ever say that again.
Jake was like selecting car for his monday -thursday work but later then, he brings "Toruk Makto" on fridays for show.

You forgot something. Like how wands pick the wizard in Harry Potter, the flying bird beast picks the warrior in the movie
I literally cannot wait for the sequel. This was Cameron’s best work to date, I’m seriously hurt that Horner has passed, he’s a musical genious
0:54 they have retractable teeth! Like some snakes. SO COOL
Let the haters hate. This is a movie about greed vs the environment. It's about finding family based on values, not appearance. And it's amazingly fun to watch.
I love it when I search avatar I get this and atla two of the things that made my childhood

I took my son to see this movie in Oak Grove, Louisiana. They have an old movie theater from the 50s. Great movie and atmosphere. Can’t wait to take him to part two.
you dont want to they abandon their whole life and join the sea which is lame. NO Ikrons at all just flying fish.
The music by James Horner was Sublime...it took the movie to whole next level....Pandora still fascinates me....
Absolutely an epic movie! Can’t wait for the sequel
im 13 now so i watched this movie when i was younger and ill say this is one of the best movies ive watched
Nice
Memories mann
one of the best films of all time for sure cant wait for number 2 and 3
Can't watch this scene without crying. I want to fly on an Ekron so bad 🙏🏻💙💚💜🙏🏻

2. Characters Like Jake & Neytiri
3. Music

6. This scene.
7. Upcoming Sequel - I'm waiting for It.

A sci-fi / fantasy movie with a good story, Drama and atmosphere... a combination that doesn't exist today anymore.
James Cameron did this visual marvel before 2009 and imagine what he would do with this latest technology. He is the one one who sets the bar for other film makers.

How did I literally just now notice this!!! When Jake finally makes the bond, right after he says "stop" and the Ikran puts its wing down, Neytiri has her knife in her hand! That makes me think if things went wrong and the Ikran was about to Kill Jake, Neytiri would've stepped in and killed the Ikran before it could kill him!
