  • In this video I cover game four of round two between the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers. I talk about everything from Darnell Nurse sucker punching Dakota Joshua to Elias Pettersson's struggles to Corey Perry's strange way of taunting Brock Boeser to the amazing play of both teams' third-string goalies, Artūrs Šilovs and Calvin Pickard. Thanks for watching, everyone. See y'all Friday!

    Just watched game 5. Holy poop nuggets! Canucks just played their best game of the year. Almost 60 min of control the play. Did everything right except score more. Petty is back. Found our full team.
    Miller finishes it for us. I’m so pumped.

    Thanks for the highlight on a couple of Ian Cole's solid defensive plays in game 4. It's not the kind of thing that newer fans would easily spot, and honestly, outside of two poor choices (overtime stick in the crease and the defensive zone turnover) he's been playing pretty good this series.
    Like.. two of three that bounced in off of him are a coin flip on just being another unnoticed and unappreciated blocked shot.

    I agree that something MUST be wrong with Petey, whether it be mentally or physically. However, what I can’t stand is some fans think that he isn’t trying or he doesn’t want to be there. “He got his bag and now he’s done”. That’s just some bs. It’s completely normal for players to go through something like this. But the narrative that he doesn’t wanna be there is such bs. Look at his reaction to the game tying goal last night. He was ecstatic

    • @mackielunkey2205

    I'm probably talking out of my ass, but maybe that Soucy hit that missed and took Petey out of the backcheck left him with something that's bothering him(reaching for something to explain that coasting backcheck you're pointing out, he's been snakebit, but he'd been playing pretty decent defence for the most part. And I think maybe the reason why Petey's been getting thrown out there with a nagging injury instead of getting downtime, as while he can't seem to produce, he was still doing better than most other alternatives as a defensive first option).
    The people trying to compare Draisaitl's contract to Petey's and their impact need to take into account that Draisaitl was signed long term before he proved himself as a consistent producer(2nd season in the NHL, and productive at 77 pts, but his prior season was a 51 pointer, so 11.3% of their cap for a guy that might be a career 25-ish goal 60 pointer, whereas Petey has produced multiple seasons where 25G/60pts as his statistical worsts for 12.6% of cap). They could've done that with Petey, except they bridged him because Benning traded for OEL and ate up a LOT of contract space, so they opted to bridge and had to sign Petey after his 100 point season. If they had the cap to not bridge him, we likely could've locked Petey at 8.5-9m x8 years. This was very much an issue that happened due to mismanagement from the last GM(not to mention the number of good players we let walk).

    I do a lot Star Trek referencing so I wish you all the luck the Canucks don't need (a lot of luck) first captain kirk the goalie may not be that good he just opens his communicator and says Scotty beam the puck somewhere safe and bam (this was a joke about ... first Picard and second Kirk... are you still here yes ok good) now this game although I wish we won it was a necessary I would rather have this loss happen now then in game 7 of the Stanley cup finals and the team learned from their mistakes and that is great now the fun part GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!! 💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚

    I can’t believe the amount of Canucks fans shitting on Silovs, he almost single-handedly won you guys the game and stopped the oilers from just dominating the scoring, as an oilers fan I gotta hand it to him

      @akira_kei_ 17 дней назад +3

      Who in their right mind is shitting on Silovs? Let me guess, Twitter...

      @@akira_kei_ That’s what I’m saying! Went for a lurk in their subreddit after the game (which I know is not an accurate representation of an entire fan base) and seen so many people saying he had to go. So dumb considering the performance he just put on

    Such bs that Miller gets called on that pissy little interference but Nurse can almost dislocate Joshua’s jaw: no call.

    this was a great comeback attemp by the canucks yet again. But they needed to have scored on that double minor.

    They really should split up petey and mikheev. It's not working from what I see but I guess the coach's think it is

    The sell by Draisaitl on millers “interference” infuriated me so much 😡 correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure they called Miller for high sticking no?

    • @nuckingaround
      @nuckingaround  16 дней назад +1

      No, they actually called interference which made sense. If it was high sticking I would’ve been mad too! 🫡

    A coach should never call his players out with the media. If the Canucks lose this round, you can blame the coaching staff. All NHL teams have their top six and the bottom six should be great defensively, take the body, or create momentum swings. This is a great series to watch. It reminds me of the old EDM/CAL battles and the old Van/Cal battles.

      At least it was only your wall and not our wall... because we can't have any holes in Silovs.
