About 20 years ago, I spent a month in Tanzania. Mostly in Arusha. Everyone was friendly and helpful. And smiling! I left a piece of my heart there, for sure. ❤
Anyone I know that goes to anywhere in Africa always says its beautiful, and it changed their life for the better. I can't wait to visit a few countries.
Though Americans do say that they are "going to Europe" ... I guess it's because everything is far away, so they can't travel to another country easily. Me, I want to visit your village! If you ever do an AirBNB, I will be there!
Everytime someone says they are going to África and I said Africa is huge, which country. They pointed out again Africa, as if i was not seeing how important they are. Africa is one of the richest continent with some amazing cultures. One of my best friend is from Uganda and I am so blessed to have her in my life
I know a guy who went to Uganda as an exchange student to write about smart phone businesses, I believe (I don't understand anything about that stuff, but I think it was something about local small businesses). He told me that it was a beautiful country and that people were so nice there. He was mainly in Kampala for the university stuff, but he got to travel a bit around to see some nature too. He had an amazing trip ❤
Law and history hmmmm who from... and what is law and history now days. Not sure what law has done for the peoples of corporation nz, it's all business, departments, institutions for who? Not me I loved my upbringing with papatuanuku and whanau it was and still is the best days of my life.. until I entered the corporate world, been there done that it sucked, back to where I should have never left. Maybe not there but a place where I can be myself ...
Africa better rise and tell your story... about animals, lakes and rivers, culture.. and never wait for NATGeO world. .. we can tell our story better. Bravo Africa's sister ❤
A Moroccan woman told an American that she was from Morocco and the American woman didn't know where Morocco was on the map so the Moroccan woman told her that Morocco is in North Africa, once the American woman heard Africa she said "oh I love safaris" 🤣🤣 There are no Safaris in Morocco. Africa is a continent not a country and not all African countries are the same.
I went to Tanzania four years ago. Everyone is super nice. I mean there is some crime just like anywhere else, but they are very kind, more so than people in other countries. I stayed in a Maasai boma for four days with a host mom and her family, and they treated me like one of their own.
I think when people say they've been to Africa, they mean Sub-Saharan Africa. And when they go to Northern Africa, they say the name of the country. And this is probably because most of Sub-Saharan Africa are homogeneous or Afro (at least to people who are not from there) because of close haplogroup connections.
I take every opportunity to educate my students about how rude it is to consider the entire, enormous continent that is Africa as one country, considering they get insulted if they are confused for an Ohioan when they're from West Virginia (states that are next to one another)!
As a European, I definitely roll my eyes unless they say they travelled to multiple countries in Europe. There's a big difference between fx. Iceland, Portugal, Switzerland, Macedonia and Ukraine! Especially between Eastern and western Europe and northern and southern Europe. Like are you in the Arctic circle or are you in a subtropical country? Is there any coast or are you landlocked? Are there mountains? What food? What history? What religion? What's the political climate?
I know, people generalise ‘Europe’ ‘America’ and in reverse ‘England’ for all of the UK, it’s not racism, it’s laziness or just colloquialism. PS I am from Europe
You can also say that you went to America, Europe, or Asia. Africa is no different. If someone went to 8 different countries in Africa or a dozen different 'towns' While in Africa, should they name each location. That's silly, no one cares about every detail of someone's trip or experience. Africa is a place... specifying which country is irrelevant for most conversations, js.
I love how welcoming you are and the positive things you share about Uganda. Although I am genuinely concerned that it is not safe for my gay family to visit. 🥲
Been saying this for decades. America classifies every race by there country of origin but arrogantly classify my people as the whole damn continent of Africa. Calling us African Americans. I dislike and disagree with the American government and its puppet politicians calling my people African American and we ain’t African. Many of my people have never been there and never will go there. It’s disrespectful and disgraceful that we allowed this racial name to exist when there are people in America who are literally from the continent of Africa. Even if there is a possibility that my ancestors were from Africa that has not been our home for over 500years. I apologize for the ignorance, arrogance and incompetence of people who cannot distinguish a continent from a country. Salute from America!!

When I went to Austria a lady gave me a look: “get out of my country”. I should have gone to Uganda instead.
Yeah, I hear you. I almost got booted out of a pastry shop in Vienna. I bought all these pastries and coffee, but they were glaring at me as we ate.

That welcoming is what caused the Missionaries to open the way for the evil colonialists.
Thank you sister ❤

❤❤❤ keep speaking your beautiful truth love from corporation new zealand.. kia ora
No.... I'm going to have to ask... what is "corporation" New Zealand.
The name my country has been called...
The name my country has being called since colonisation
@@foodtasty7622 I am a 6th generation New Zealander and I have never heard it before, despite a study of both Law and History.

Don't take it personally, some people these days are asked about countries and name continents 😀
Exactly!!!💪🏾

Chat Joy chat, we all have your fails and wins... People STOP!!!❤
i HATE when people talk about the African continent as a country. they don’t do this shit with ANY other continent smh.
In my country we can say: I’ll go to Europe, or I’ll go to Asia, nothing wrong with that.😊
Hello is the thing you are eating still alive?
A good comparison is coming to a.erica. we are known for our racism, shooters, egos. But there are plenty of folk who are alright.

@@xx-sof-xx i am european as well. Dont we also say "i travel to the USA"? And then further in the conversation we'd get more specific maybe

Maybe ppl just mentioned Africa as continent. It is not a bad or incorrect thing .
