Getting to a 10 second Tuck Planche has taken longer than I thought, but I am still insanely happy to have got there! What are you guys working towards?
Would like to do a 5 second straddle planche 1 year from when I actually start planche training, which will be when I get down to 10% body fat (probably 3 months from now based on the current progression/projection in my weight loss). My chest, low back and legs are pretty strong but my upper back and abs are weak. So I am planning to spend 4 months to try to get up to much higher core calisthenics figures (40 pushups, 25 dips, 12 pull-ups), and then start training and hopefully accomplish a straddle planche in 8 months. Please let me know if people think this is a realistic timeframe.
You were also right, some positions look different for each person and this has to do with the anatomy of each one's body, I also noticed that. I had already heard that there is no right or wrong way to do certain positions.
That is amazing bro! Proud of your progress! For me, as my goals, is to go back to what I used to do before my operation, which I can see I am progressing towards quite well! Great video as always Andrew!
Excellent achievment Bro. The same videos i saw, the same trainers and the same scapula protraction in the upper back arched that i notice i should develop. Doing the same exercise of scapula protraction with a ressistance band. Feel the very slow progress in that i'm more confidance with the tuck planche skill but still a long way to go through to make it more solide and stable. It is progress forth and back, sometimes it is hard to reacreate an achivement you made a day before untill it sit well on you. Well this is how the planche is. I don't give up always training. HAPPY FOR YOU.💪💪💪
Mate, it has been such a long time coming, Oren - but glad it I've got there! You've been pushing towards this one for a while, and I'm excited for you to get there man!
Hi Bert, yeah Tuck planche was surprisingly challenging but glad I got there! And yeah, I plan on doing a video on how I train soon. In the meantime, this video is how I trained during lockdown and my method haven't changed much: ruclips.net/video/eJAOQ8jqrJk/видео.html
I got to a point of advanced tuck before realising that i needed to go back and work on my HSPU to progress further. I also had to park direct training until I recover from a hernia, but in. the new year I plan on picking planche up again Watch this space 💪🏿
Thanks, Yacine! My advice on injuries is always 'go see a phsio', though I do have have this video on measures we can take for to prevent wrist and elbow issues: ruclips.net/video/ONMXMXNjLkA/видео.html
i believe the early stages of planche are the hardest phase since your body has to get used to it. after that, it feels so great to overcome that challenge.
The most impressive/beautiful Calisthenics movements are (in no specific order) : L-SIT to HANDSTAND from an armchair and back. Ring Muscle Ups with perfect form Full Planche Front Lever IMHO
Brilliant! Congratulations on your achievement. I'm following your steps doing frog to handstand and I will try this one after. Would you say L-sit was easier or more difficult?
Thanks Fernando - really appreciate that! L-sit was definitely easier! in fact looking back, I am so happy that I got the decision to train L-sit first so right as there has been loads of spillover benefits P.s. if one of your goals is Frog-Handstand, then you'll find next week's video VERY interesting ;-)
@@CaliToTheCrowd I'm looking forward to that video then. Maybe I'll start doing also the L-sit as progress is very slow with handstand. Thank you very much for posting this videos. You share all the challenges that you face and overcome which is inspirational. I also enjoy how you analyze a lot of things.
@@CaliToTheCrowd Thanks Andrew, Bit of kipping of the legs but, it felt amazing. Performing the Muscle Up on Thursday reignited that passion for calisthenics!
Do you a have link to that excel sheet? I can do 12 wide rto push ups and 8 rto dips but Tuck planche on the Floor feels completely alien to me. I don't think I am activating the muscles effectively but I guess once I start doing some planche specific exercises then it may help. Also, I can do an L Sit on a parallel bar and with L sit on the floor with my fingers but palms flat on the floor feels impossible. I have been doing compression work but still can't seem to do it.
Here's a link to that form: www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/comments/e9u5c0/rbodyweightfitness_ultimate_poll_first_results/ It is a really interesting read!
It took me around 2 months to achieved advanced tuck after I got 10 second tuck, if I were to say the progression from zero, it took me 2 years to get to this position
Hey bro, I tried to do the tuck planche for about 5 days now and I can barely lift my legs but my arms are slightly bent, what am I possibly doing wrong? I mean I've been planking for nearly 3 years now and doing push-ups so I think my core is alright
This is a great question, and one that speaks to the heart of the planche skill. Planche is all about the shoulders, not the core, and actually, planking doesn't translate THAT well to the planche movement. I would suggest that planche leans are what you focus on to getting stronger at all aspects of the planche

Great video, Andrew. How often did you find yourself training this skill? Did you do any other push strength training during this time?

100%, Giovani! - All about the specifics 👊🏿
Your point on the differences in scapula protraction is so vindicating. I used to think I was just weird, or doing it wrong!
we're all built differently =]
I love your honesty man
I love your comment

I know that operation took it out of you, but you'll get there, Michael! 💪

Awesome work my dude. We all on this journey together and it’s great to learn off of other’s mistakes and thoughts
100%! And thanks for the shout!
This journey is a long one, but this community makes it easier!
OMG I'm so happy for you!!
Thanks Daniella!
Great progression, you do an interesting video my friend 💥
Thanks Rigoz - glad you liked it!
Your journey is fantastic and considering you only started recently you have made good progress
Thanks Sam
In this exact same spot right now, failing to get that tuck planche. Excellent analysis! I will have to incorporate some of your findings.
I dont suppose you'd share your routine, (sets & weekly frequency)?

Do you have any update after two years?

Excellent video, thank you for sharing your journey. Whoops this was for your handstand progress.
Thank you 😁
Love your channel brother. Do you have a video on golfer's elbow ? I'm struggling with that
Thanks, Yacine!

Straight arm frog stands are a good exercise for learning the tuck planche
IKR! Though, it took me a while to learn how to do those too!

not gonna lie, it was pretty awesome!
Your channel inspires me so much because I feel we are at the same level. Hopefully I master tuck planche this month too 💪🏼
You got this!
He’s only gone and done it! 🔥🔥
Full planche incoming!.... In 2040 🤣
amazing stuff!
Glad you think so - hopefully more to come

I just learned the tuck planche too, guys !!!!
Congrats, man!

Did my first muscle up on thursday :)) Still doing L-sit exercises though, will get there eventually xD

I can do straddle planche but only because I can do middle splits so my legs basically don't count ☺️
haha! pretty sure that's cheating!
