Learning to hit a driver is a real journey. I struggled for a long time and the thing that helped me was in my setup and backswing. When I setup, I start from my grip and theres a sequence. Grip, stance with feet together, address the bal slightly towards toe, rotate left toe slightly, step with right foot. Thats where I started to solve it. When I step with my right foot, clubhead is at center and I keep it while I step. THEN I tilt. Clubhead lofted and centers on the ball. When I make my backswing, I hold that tilt and rotate back. As I transition, I maintain that and Im starting my swing with it loaded and it brings my club face right into square with the ball. When the strike comes, Im hitting up and square and I rarely slice anymore. If I do, its because I lost focus. What it does is automatically gets my clubhead in to out. I dont have to think about being able to "shallow" it at all. Im 65 and if I sequence correctly I can usually get 225 yards carry. Holding that tilt made it work for me.
I thought this was gonna be about pumping Andy’s numbers up 😄 that’d be a fun one. Big thing for adding speed is spinal erector/core exercises and then learning to grip the ground with feet and use legs to torque/force your body around. All around strength and fitness is good for health and swing speed really but those are a specific muscle group that I think is the factor in cranking up my numbers.
Just broke 90 yesterday and I’m buzzing nice 85 so not even just by a stroke or two and I must thank you guys have helped me out so much with your RUclips videos! And considering never had a lesson these live lessons really help me 👍
That’s great George, keep it up!🏌️♂️🙌
Love the path of aiming more left. I could see this helping me. Very cool.
Love the before and after.
Your previous video on the "takeaway" was tremendously helpful. It is my pre-shot routine on all shots now. Get it right first 3 feet makes for a fun day on the course.
And hopefully you having a lot more fun days on the golf course🙌🏌️♂️⛳️
Could you post a link to that video, please?
I have the speed sticks and launch monitor waiting for me, just had a hernia op and once I'm fit I am GETTING IT!!!! Can't wait.
You did a session with another guy using the extended method. I watched it over and over again. I took it to the course and now I have just about come to the point where the slice has left. I still get one every now and then but for the most part, i'm going straighter and hitting more of a draw. If I do all I am supposed to do, playing from the fairway makes golf a nicer game.
That’s excellent news! Keep it up👍
Link to video?
Couldn’t find the link either for “extended method” - are you able to share the link?
is this the video? ruclips.net/video/gkGcrGyl-NM/видео.html
Would have loved to see him hit a club after the speed training
Agreed! I’m sure it won’t be as accurate
Really enjoyed the process looks like Andy over the course of the video has probably increased his speed, think alot of golfers me included don't swing flat out. I tried emulating the swing speed exercises, just using my driver swinging full and flat out, did three sets of 10 tinkering with it to maintain a balanced swing and maximum speed. Then tried the method with balls into my practice nett and sound centered hits I'm really keen to take this to the range
You guys have impacted my golf game so much and I’m all the way in California! Thank you for the insight.
We're so happy to hear that!! Glad the videos are helping you 🙌❤️
1st off, and I'm sure your test subject agrees, swinging the club and getting more yards isn't easy. It takes effort. I've watch many videos hoping to find the "effortless" fountain of swing. So I watched this video. The Visual of moving everything back and up in sync and not bending your arms is great. Effortless, not! Your test subject in the speed training part of the video shows that it's work. However, for me, the end results are more yards and less slice with more effort. Totally worth the effort. Thanks Andy and Pierce
We agree with everything you have said there Russell👍
A really good example of this is Rory McIlroy. Text book sequence and an absolute joy to watch. I used this technique and was smashing some bombs. Even my mates commented how well I was hitting. Cheers gents and keep up the fantastic content 👍
That’s great Roy, keep it up!🏌️♂️🙌 and thank you for your feedback, glad you’re enjoying the content👍
Brilliant!!!!
Best video you’ve done!!
Cheers!!!
Love to hear you enjoyed it Kevin!! ❤️
Interesting. The take away is a big step. Also Andy has the rigid left arm which can overcome many mechanical flaws. Flattening the left wrist at impact will be a big deal. Not there after day 1.Pretty good stuff. Andy seems to have some athletic ability.
I've been working on connecting the hips and upper body like this for a couple of weeks. It seems really important but I have noticed I think it's causing me to to sway too much in both my back and downswing.
This guys core is going to be mangled in the morning lol
I've seen the video for hovering. Do you have anything on placement of driver either on the sweet spot or more on the heal? I have an issue where I strike extremely off the toe sometimes, but when I move the club where it's aligned more off the health I strike it much more consistently.
Thank you!
Blinding lesson gents , bravo
Great vid guys! Would like to know what his clubhead speed was once you made the swing change-once piece takeaway. How much did that fix help swing speed?
It’s something we didn’t check in this episode, but it’s something we start tracking in the future episodes with Andy👍
I might have to get the speed training sticks i have bad lower body movement into the ball and find it hard to sequence it together i think these could help
Definitely invest, you won't regret it!!
Love your videos!!
What an experience for this lad!!
💯 💯
It was great it should help my speed!
Will this drill work on fairway woods as well?
Love your vids: watched you with Danny Maude too! Liked and subscribed: HAPPY to receive that Taylormade Driver if you wish!
Plot twist, he could actually swing 127 all along and this is an ad for superspeed sticks
..cool..
This is a great video, i love all the content you post... Can i ask which set is it you have and use in the video? and whats the best way to get in contact with yourselves?
I believe there’s only one set! And you can interact with us a lot more by becoming a member by clicking the link in the description and joining our private Facebook group, let us know if you have any questions👍
@@meandmygolf. I follow you guys on Facebook already... Can't see a link for a members group though? I did message yourselves on Facebook messenger though!
5:13 the same mistake what I do
Now I am going to rectify it 😃
Brilliant Debasish! Hope it works out for you🏌️♂️👍
Any advice on the best way to measure the speed if you don’t have a launch monitor.
There are a lot more driving ranges now with launch monitors. May be worth researching if there are any around you. if not I will look into the next couple of days to give you a better answer👍
I have a trackman range nearby but is doesn’t have clubhead sped and the sensors are in the range and just read the balls coming out of the bays. I don’t have any near me that have launch monitors. Is there a ‘cheapish’device that can measure head speed?
Grab a Swing Speed Radar off Amazon. Will at least give you a way to measure relative change.
And until you get a number, you can listen to the SOUND of the swoosh. As the great Mike Austin used to say "if it 'aint talkin' to ya, you haven't swung it!' :)
This video is amazing for beginners so informative without having to over explain. Very simple training, can’t wait to apply it so it can help me on the course!!!!
Thanks John, glad you enjoyed it and hope it helps!
Hard work makes the driver swing so much easier ;-)
So does AP supply y’all with slick Royal Oaks to wear?
love it when you take a normal golfer thanks
Thank you for your feedback, glad you’re enjoying the content🙌
How would I go about getting lessons off you guys? I’m hc 22 been playing for about 3-4 months and really wanna improve my game. Love watching your content thanks.
Well the next best thing is by becoming a member of our website, which holds our premium instructional content. But by become part of our private Facebook group if you were to become a member, this is where we run constant competitions to win a lesson with us! Would you like more information about what our membership offers?
@@meandmygolf. I would yes please however the competition side of things isn’t good for me because I’m so unlucky and won’t win a thing 😂 is there a £££ way of doing this sort of thing with you? Thanks
I don’t know if it was mentioned but that step fw-swing drill really looks to improve the early cast (a speed killer)
Problem is rypsticks once again are hard to get in Europe as you have to pay tremendous amounts of customs and extra taxes.
The sticks..... Is this what they used to do with the medicine ball?
Not sure if I missed it but what was the purpose of having him swing left handed?
Should one have the same take away with irons or no? I know they’re a “different” swing
Yes definitely👍
I don't understand how the speed training would work. I believe that your clubhead speed would increase but so would the misses.
Excellent content! I'm also tired after thatn
😂😂 was a lot of fun, hewas on the floor after shooting!
Wow guys all that speed training going to send that slice off the planet
He’s actually worked really hard with what we have taught him so far, which is allowing him to be controlled in the next steps! Very excited to see how it continues to develop🏌️♂️
@@meandmygolf. awesome guys you know what you're doing
Great lesson!!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it🏌️♂️👍
nice ad disguised as a golf lesson, lol. you didn't even address him entirely shifting off the ball in his backswing and not re-centering, the most obvious cause of him flipping at the ball (not his quick hinge). also, equating swing speed of the swing sticks (which i even have, i won't hate on them too much) with an actual club as a comparison, lol. you guys are better than this.
I wish that PZG advert would just **** off!!!!
Anyway great video, very helpful.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the videos👍
Hey gents. Would you honestly not think that encouraging a super fast swing (by using the speed sticks) whilst having a swing that you’re trying to change would be detrimental?
If they thought that it was detrimental, then they wouldn’t be making a series of 3 videos on it. The point is to add 30 yards….and the swing change isn’t that difficult. If you’re going to dive a ball 30 yards further you have to up the swing speed by about 10mph.
I agree, this is nothing but a paid advert, they are a partner of superspeed. This guy needs better technique not more speed.
@@aaronrothwell9026 don’t get me wrong. I love piers and Andy, I’ve met them and they are proper gents. I’m not putting them down, at the end of the day, we all need to earn through our trade and that might be through promoting a product or putting out content to watch. Mine was a genuine question about the best order to do things. I would like more speed but my technique is what I’m working on right now and I feel if I were to increase the speed then I’m increasing the flaws
Where can I get one of those vests?
If you go to description and click the link to Adidas, it should be there🏌️♂️👍
When are you guys going to make it down under?
Hopefully soon Adrian, when travel gets to some what normal😂
He could benefit from the Leadbetter swing. He’s big time over the top. You’ll lose power in the swing and contact, face control, etc. with that over the top movement.
Your absolutely right Christian, something we will be looking to work on over the next couple of episodes🏌️♂️👍
@@meandmygolf. right on, looking forward to it!
Where are parts 2 and 3 of this?
Kinda look over the top into a flip. I would make him have a noodle at his front hip and make him not leave it when he rotates.
His main problem is that he simply doesn't understand what direction to swing. Like most people he's under the false impression that forcing the club to move down the target line will cause the ball to go that way and that is simply not true.
The views are unreal !
So good Manraj!
He’s going to need a driver fitting after this training
Lots of early release going on. Eliminating that alone will lead to tons of distance.
Nice video but cannot get over how expensive those speed sticks are. For the same money you could get a full course of lessons from a PGA pro!
They have bills to pay
This guy should have no problem driving the ball 300+ yards. With a properly fit a driver and improved technique he should be bombing it soon!
He’s definitely got a great golf swing with a lot of potential!🏌️♂️
Still a dreaded outside to inside swing 😆
Clickbait - thumbnail suggests that his clubspeed improved by 30mph, but then it’s just a speed stick lol…
So you’re telling me he didn’t swing the club after this? Smh!
Call a chiropractor immediately
Poor guy probly carked it right after filming
I would imagine swinging full speed he would spray it all over the place, no???
This guy is 100% a 10-12 handicap and I reckon he will get 50 yards which is probably his normal distance anyway ha.
Nice try guys but you can’t fool all of us!!
I wish I was a 10-12! My index is 19.1 feel free to look me up on England golf 🤣
@@andrewritchie4405 means nothing old bean. Mine is 11.7 but because I don’t play in comps or hand in cards it doesn’t change. I think you sandbagging us and you will smash it by minimum 30 yards. But as mentioned I think that’s your normal distance!!
We’re not trying to fool you Mark! But I’m sure Andy will take that as a compliment!🙌😂
@@meandmygolf. Appreciate the reply but I am a scenic. It’s a cool idea and you have to make content about something. Let’s face it, you guys have been doing this so long it must be difficult to keep reinventing the wheel.
Always happy to watch and like.
I just can't watch grown men who both dress up like twin babies....
Thanks for watching anyway🏌️♂️🙌
@@meandmygolf. No worries lol. Some solid tips there ...
sounds like all you do is talk
I lose interest in watching your videos even though it is probably useful. Because your videos are WAY too long and convoluted. Its like watching an online lecture where its possible to fall asleep through boredom. Please keep them short and sharp (less than 5 min would be good) and I bet your viewing audience would increase. (Sir Nick Faldo does it well in making these types of videos). Cheers.
