  • Tubing, kayaking, diving, swimming...Ichetucknee Springs is a gem and should be at the top of your bucket list! We recently visited in June 2022 and dove the Blue Hole as well as explored the headspring. This state park and network of springs is impressive.
To explore the Blue Hole section of the springs you can't bring any flotation devices (except a pool noodle if necessary), it's specifically for snorkeling & diving. We did not see anywhere to rent equipment so bring your own snorkeling & diving gear if you want to do this experience. I highly recommend fins so you can get down deep while holding your breath. We also wore wet suits as the water was cold at 72 degrees, but most others went in their normal swimwear.
When underwater you can see sunlight penetrating the turquoise water, giving it a magical appearance. The Blue Hole leads to a network of caves, if certified you can explore these...we did not :)
After the blue hole we walked a short distance to the headspring where we swam, snorkeled some more and spent time warming up on a small beach. You can tube this 6 mile river, kayak or canoe. These can all be rented through park services or you can bring your own. You can also access a shuttle which will bring you back to your car when you're done (for a fee). We loved our day here and would definitely visit again! Florida's natural springs are incredible and worth seeing in person if possible.
