    I’m a hairdresser, I couldn’t even count how many times I’ve pulled hair out of my foot, fingers, arms, chest area, face, even my gums a couple of times, and they hurt, like fiberglass. Hair splinters are horrible and painful. Poor lady.

    The frustrating thing about ingrown hairs (and I guess hair splinters; did not know that was a thing) is that they're usually too tough for the body to break down completely, but not tough enough to come out in one piece if you can grab the end with tweezers. Being embedded under the skin makes the hair soft and brittle.

    • @Call-me-Al
      @Call-me-Al Год назад +2

      Hair splinters in my experience is easy go pull out if it's the first day or two you have it. Then again I have never ever known hair splinters were a real thing until my current partner. My hair is too fine and weak to penetrate skin even in short segments, and my three exes had too fine hair for that too. Ingrown hair on the other hand is an annoying constant of life.

She could barely even walk, one night she asked me to look at it, and with tweezers and a pair of toenail clippers, we got it out. I had a dog years ago and her hair would get embedded in the bottom of my foot! The crazy thing was that her fur was really soft and not at all wiry! The first time it happened I did not have a clue what was going on! The hair was so fine that I could not see it and it did not hurt if I pushed on my foot where it was, but if I slid my finger over it gently it really hurt! It was as if it was a sliver of metal or fiberglass. It took forever to get it out because I had to find it first then get ahold of it! I had several more over the years but once I figured out what it was it was much easier to get them out! I am glad this woman came to you for help before it became infected or made an absess!!

    It is amazing how badly these hurt!!! I was working as a RN. Ater one evening of walking miles, my foot became more and more painful. After digging around, I found a hair about an inch long that had wound around and around into a circle. I figured it was in my sock and the scales on the hair itself drew it in with each step. What blessed relief to get that out!!!

    I remember my dad coming to me asking if I could look at his foot cus he had a clear plastic splinter in there that had broken off. Took about an hour with a needle and clippers and tweezers slowly making a little crater before I found that thing. He would come to me for that kind of thing because I was more patient then anyone and could do it without causing much discomfort. Also, there's that obsessive satisfaction about splinters that make them somewhat enjoyable 😏
