Tissue Culture:
It is a method of producing new plants from the small part of plant tissue taken from the growing tips of the plant in a culture solution (sterile medium) is called Tissue culture or micro propagation.
1. A small part of plant tissue is first taken from the growing tips of the plant and is placed in sterile jelly like medium containing nutrients and hormones which stimulate the growth of a shapeless lump of mass called callus.
2. This callus is then transferred into another sterile jelly like medium which contains hormones that stimulates the growth of roots.
3. Then transferred to another sterile medium which stimulates the growth of shoots.
4. As a result, tiny plantlets are obtained which can be separated to plant into the soil or different pots.
Example- Chrysanthemum, orchids etc.

What is the difference between fragmentation and regeneration ?

Fragmentation occurs when an organism literally breaks off from itself. The broken fragments of the organism grow into individual separate organisms. On the other hand, regeneration is a form of asexual reproduction where the organism is capable of regrowing certain parts of its body when it loses them.
