Great and very thorough review. I really liked the bag during my testing and looking at this video, I might need to get it out from storage again and use it some more.
@@emmefftee91 - what would you look for in a long term review & how long on usage? Durability? Usage? Feel? Please let us know - we're always trying to improve our content! Also, we test bags/gear for at least two weeks before posting a review to make sure we can capture all aspects. - Tom
@@PackHacker hmm I guess on how the bag changes and breaks in. I'm not sure how else I would like to say. Like say, how the design of the Outlier Ultrahigh Rolltop have this two abrasion prone points at the bottom. Things that aren't obvious even in two weeks that might pop up later.
Pack Hacker I personally look for how well it handle heavy load in term of comfort. With many extra compartments, you can load much stuff in it. Well, can you actually carry all that is the question.
Can you rewiew the Forge / Forge 20 backpack from Black Ember? I have the AER Flight Pack XPack and love it because of the three different ways of carrying it, but what I don't like at all is the unpadded back, which in my opinion Black Ember makes better. Would be great if you could test it. Thanks anyway for the amazing reviews and testing. I am a big fan of yours from switzerland.
as always this was an AMAZING review, you guys are seriously the best youtube channel for pack reviews , thank you! ...I've been wanting this backpack so badly since it came out, but it is too expensive for me : ( , and I don't know why people don't dig the look, I think it looks great.
Definitely a niche look and I'm with you Javier! I personally really dig the look of it. Surprised many people didn't. Also - thanks! It's comments like this that keep us going 🙂 - Tom
Definitely. I was really excited by the sport bag add on. As it could be used for one bag travel or going to the gym. I was a bit disappointed when the I saw the bag without it as it doesn't look great. Hope other companies take inspiration!
They would have to try pretty hard to get these off! They're pretty secure-with that being said, just make sure you have them on right and tight! -Hannah
One of my most regretful purchase ever lol, great look great materials but too heavy and not practical at all, with such a big bag, but you can only fit so few things in it. Too bad your review came a little bit too late.
What’s your opinion on modular and customizable backpacks?
I have a bag with molle straps - any idea where to get the modular parts to add to it? I can't find anyones in decent looking style..
@@w2best - have you checked out GORUCK at all? They've got a solid selection packha.kr/o3el Plenty of stuff out there as well if you dig!
- Tom
@AndretheDias - right on Andre!
Love them! But I prefer a more "universal" attachment system like molle or velcro for heaps more pouch options.
@@shugoreirocks Great stuff!

Would love to see a revisit or long term review of this bag (or others) if you can spare the time.
Absolutely Bo - loved your solid review of the Minimal ruclips.net/video/5Skokznx2gQ/видео.html

Would love to see a review if errant pro and other less minimalist packs for us maximalists
is there a metal frame or something that made the curve at back ? looks hard.
Hey Melvin - there are two aluminum stays and a curved frame sheet on this pack. Hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
The minimal version might be more my style.
Great review by the way.
The minimal is definitely slick!

A lot of us are inner city dwellers. We dont have security details. This pack says "Ive got money, come and get it."
Tom Cruz Mission Impossible pack.
hey morgando2 - Tom here - I'm an inner city dweller, too! What's your favorite security-focused pack?

Hi, can you please do a review on Standard Luggage Co's Carry-on Backpack? It is 35L expandable to 45L with good features.
Hi Maliq, it's not in our immediate pipeline but we'll take a look!

Super innovative back pack!
Absolutely Takahashi! We're excited that Black Ember is really pushing the envelope here.

Big fan of the new hair cut
✨✨✨
anybody has any idea whats the size (dimension) of the laptop compartment for the citadel R2 modular? Emailed Black Ember but no reply so far
I wish this bag was 39 to 40 l so it would work for Messengers. I would buy this for five of my friends. Unfortunately it's too small
Hey Zst Nn - thanks for sharing! 👍👍👍
- Rebecca
Would better if you could use the mods inside the bag as well.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us John! 😊👍

You guys should try some Tom Bihn bags, I'm interested in your thoughts.
Stay tuned...soon! 🙊

Can a thief snatch the modular units and run or are they secure?

He didn't mention the high price and you still have to buy the handles and straps. End up paying $395.00 for a set probably plus tax.
Are there any more budget-friendly options you prefer?
