I've 'visited' this house on several other occasions courtesy of other Urbexers but I do like the quiet vibe of your explorations. Of necessity most Urbexers are young, fit people, and, as such don't recognise lots of things we oldies used on a daily basis just a few years ago. I find that a part of the charm. Seeing these things through your eyes and your amazement at finding such 'antiques'. Such was the case with the cassette tapes! Fun though it is to speculate on dramatic events which might have led to owners leaving suddenly and the property left to decay, the sad fact is that the biggest causes of such happenings are old age, sudden illness and death. And often clutter has accumulated over the last few years of a person's life because they become too frail to deal with it and too attached to it to get rid of it. If there are no heirs, the result is likely what's happened here. Decay. Even if there are heirs, if the property is bad enough, or the memories too painful, families will often walk away.
I've watched many explores and this is, for some reason, one of my favourite houses. The items which have been left behind clearly portray the life of the person who lived there and I sense a happy and fulfilled life.
I love your respectful vibe and careful explorations!

I must say I watch quite a few videos of different people. You certainly are one of the best out there as you are not only informative as others are saying, but you also have the right balance with your camera work, and also having a bit of fun at times as well. Very interesting, do keep up the great work you do.

Such a great find. Seeing all the toys left. Made me think how many times. They was played with. And laughter of the children as they played. A lot of antiques left behind. Some of the things other people could enjoy. The person might have passed away. So the school was closed down. Thanks for sharing your fine. You have a wonderful day.

Great to watch all the fabulous places you visit, we are indeed hooked!
My wife and I both enjoy your videos, however we do feel saddened at the same time. The lives no more and belongings left behind is so sad to see. On the plus side, you make us both laugh, when you're spooked by noises in an old house or random people just turn up to visit, we are both on the edge of our seats at times.
We also think it's great you are so very honest and respectful of where you are, rare these days!
Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next one. Kevin, Karen.

Most of the books appear to be Whitman House publications, which specialized in inexpensive prints of children's books, ages 7 - 15. They're still found in school libraries around the world. There are several boys and girls' series there, such as The Wild West Club. Other publishers look to be John C. Winston, and Grosset & Dunlap, both reprint houses. This was a children's library on a budget, which is common.
The boat is a caravel, very common in the 17th Century. Building those models are tough, as the shrouds always tangle. It means the hobbyist had a lot of patience.
The computer terminal is from a Commodore 64, which debuted in January, 1982. The computing power was the same as that of the Apollo Space Capsule, which gives you an idea of how far technology has grown.
Those electric train sets are quite popular with collectors, and can fetch a good price.

Onè of the best, i can understand why you felt a little uneasy, it seems some of the children/ child living there was disabled, hence the small size of the Zimmer frames. Without sounding disrespectful it appears the little girl in a couple of the pictures was Downs syndrome, maybe the the later picture was of her grown up.
I did feel you were being followed upstairs, by the little girl in the picture, i didn't see the older version of her at all, but the little girl was peeping at you, she seemed scared and curious at the same time. It would be a fantastic property to investigate on a spiritual level for sure.
Once again thank you for a wonderful explore, and for showing such respect and care as you do so. Fi x

Yet another incredible video, love the way you really take care looking around trying your best to minimise disturbance & damage, when you find items it'd be great if you'd pause for a moment so we can see exactly what they are, like when you find a pile of books, focus on them & hold steady for a second or so & we can pause the video to see what the various books are (like you did at one point in this video & I was able to notice "V For Vendetta" & John Milton's "Paradise Lost" among other titles) as there are bound to be people (like myself) who are interested in seeing what exactly has been left behind, like the Commodore Vic 20 computer in this video. And when you find records it'd be nice if you either say what they are & who they're by or at least show us the label in a way that we can look for ourselves. Now obviously I'm not asking you to pore through every single one but like in this video you looked at the top one & then looked at a few others & even if you only told us what those few were it would be of great interest.
It's interesting that you have come across quite a few "His Master's Voice" items ... I wonder if you & also how many of your viewers are aware / have realised that "His Master's Voice" became much better known ...... as HMV ?????
Oh yes & the "FLUTES" at 4 min are actually RECORDERS & I THINK they may be DESCANT RECORDERS judging by the size of them & the same at 4:22
Fantastic to see what looks like a "home made" Double Bass & the Smith Corona typewriter & at 13:22 (as one of your other viewers has mentioned) those "video tapes" are actually audio cassettes. Then at 15:04 the old "Imperial" typewriter is a real treasure & amazing to see, especially if you compare it to the "modern" Smith Corona from earlier in the video you can see how form changed to make the typewriter lighter & more portable.

I love trying to find these places. This one really got me going, given the ice cold part of the house, the photos and the history of the place. Was a tough one. So little history on the place, shame I wanted to find out who the girl was. I am sure she was following you in part of the upper section of the house. Just followed you on Instagram. Loving your work. I love the history of these places. However, I know giving that info out gives the game up of locations. Its such a shame.

Thats a lovely place. You can see how it was converted from an old Victorian village school, putting in stairs & the landing up into the roof of the school room, which would have been a double height hall/schoolroom originally as you can see from the big windows seen through the banisters. A lot of small rooms upstairs some of them seem too small for a bedroom. I wonder if some were intended as music practice rooms as they seem to have been a musical family? Maybe someone gave music tuition there at one point.
It is most intriguing to wonder why it is abandoned. It looked to me as though some of the contents had been moved there from elsewhere. As though someone who was part of the family had died & the contents of their house were added to the original contents of this house. I am thinking partly of the things in tea chests.
It is tempting to think that no-one would leave a musical instrument like that but probably there are a lot of houses with old instruments that someone played when they were young. Then maybe someone had a fall & had to go into a home & its all downhill from there.

To me it looks like 3 generations lived here. The parents, their parents and their son? Obviously the eldest passed first. Son moved away maybe another country or no longer with us and that left the parents growing old and moving to a home or passing. Hence the huge range of time frame for furniture etc.

And the reason why that one spot is the only place that is very cold is because of a spirit

Note the date on the building -1872. May have been built as a result of the Education Act 1870 which placed a responsibility for elementary education upon the Crown. This was prompted by concerns stimulated by the Franco-prussian war, that British soldiers would not be equal to fighting better educated european counterparts. Britain was generally behind the rest of Europe in providing even elementary education for children whose parents could not afford much, or to pay at all.
I hate armed conflict for the horrors it inflicts on ordinary people but it seems that the British population often get education & welfare provision as the result of concerns about whether they can fight effectively. At the outset of WW2 officials were shocked at the number of recruits who had to be sent home as unfit to fight, often due to untreated chronic disease, sometimes due to poor housing(damp or unsanitary), or due to nutritional deficiences, such as Rickets, due to the fact that families could not afford effective medical treatment, or in some cases even food of adequate quality. This paid a large part in the creation of the NHS, as well as other welfare provision.
