😮 those voicing are so so powerful damn
Thanks so much for helping to deconstruct one of my fave pieces of all time - Ahmad Jamal was pure genius - You are an amazing teacher and I will be spending a lot of time with this video
Love this video. Always loved Jamal's playing.
Beautiful Tony!.. thanks again!
Very helpful, thank you. Had a giggle when RUclips's auto transcriptions interpreted sostenuto pedal as "sauce to noodle pedal" 🙂
Não sou músico, más tenho ouvidos afinados para música de qualidade e olhos para ver pessoas com talento. Obrigado, do Brasil
Nicely played Tony! Jamal had the lightest touch ever. Thanks for the lesson 😊
Thanks Tony, Mr Ahmad Jamal Washington one of my favourite pianiste.
Mine too. I saw him once in concert
Great lesson Tony. Thank you! One of my favs.
Wow! Thank you, Tony. What an expert you are! You make it sound beautiful. The way it's supposed to be. The Ahmad Jamal Trio. Witness the exciting rhythm. I'm in heaven.

i saw a pdf with a ful transcription from hal leonard and its very different from how you do it specially the block chords harmonization.. this part is what gets me as I also had learned it by ear but it didnt match at all the voicings
I'll keep a look out for that transcription

Great musician and you play fantastically well, as always, but frankly very low in my list of things I'd like to learn... currently I'm focused on trying to put together a decent version of your version of 'Waltz for Debby'... so I think I'll pass on this one. A great week to you and to everybody, Maestro 😊.
Thanks for this! Two thoughts: firstly, it's interesting to me that all the different real/fake/song books have such different opinions about what the chords for this piece should be, and that it regularly appears in several different keys. Also, a thought: that sort of bolero rythm that you demonstrate around 16 mins, I wonder if that comes from the intro to the Jerry Gray arrangment for Glenn Miller? ruclips.net/video/KSrwskJn2C8/видео.html
Great
