Great illustration and explanation w.Adv. vs.Disadv. Best for beginner winsors to follow. YT is a better place than a university !

Right now, I'm heavily leaning towards doing this top-wire cordon training system with my 2 Himrod grapevines.

I just started last year with hardwood starts. Many of my plants were not able to "make it" to the top trellis to establish a cordon. Near the trunk at the ground there are also no new spurs. Is it acceptable to use spurs off of last years arm to create the cordons?

You mentioned spraying to keep them healthy, so what do you spray with and when do you spray

I’m confused. In the 4 arm kniffin video you suggested that it is no longer used and has evolved to a top tier cordon system, much like this one. Yet this video doesn’t seem as bullish on this method. Did I miss something?

Tom I Have a question; I have a small vineyard with 77 vines trained for top cordon. But last year we had a drought and the buds are under developed. Now just sprouting sporadic and most with no grapes, except on lower shouts. So now it seems I have to start all over with new laterals. Is this correct or not?
