Gas is $5 for me also. Still comes to only around 5-7% of my gross earnings in the winter and 2-3% in the summer, spring, and fall... because if the sun is shining and it's 40 degrees or more, I'm on a 125cc scooter.
I don't know what kind car you have, but it's not providing any income or gaining in value sitting in a parking space; its value is dropping whether you are using it to earn or not. I treat my vehicles like a tool. I take care of them, but I also use them a lot. A vehicle can get used up earning, or it can sit in the sun and slowly rust and rot. I choose to use up my vehicles earning.

      @@NuggsDD Hi,
      330$ divided by 16 hours = 20$
I'd say if you choose not by hour pay, you'd still make more money, due to higher tipping.
Some rides, not all, can have up to 45$-30$ per ride.
Overall, very good job. Also I always wondered how the app taxing worked. Do you pay taxes form your earnings monthly or it's daily? Is there a limit to it?
I once was told by UberEats hotline that if you make less than a thousand a month, you're not taxed. Is it true?

I have no earthly clue why so many people say they dont like earn by time... Do they hate making good money? Do they like getting screwed around with and going 8 miles to earn 7 dollars that wont change or go up in accordance to how long it takes? With earn by time i have been making at LEAST 100 per shift. I dont think i ever made more than 50 or 60 bucks doing per order for several hours.
Earn by offer gave me enough money to buy a nice combo meal and eat my sorrows away from the shift but eanr by time has given me the extra money to get brand new tires on my car and start paying down my credit and medical debt.

Nuggs that was a great shift, only done 12 hours for about 240$ but can conure its good, sadly its always locked here so never get to EBT almost ever anymore.
I have to have a mini freakout as someone who has owned lots of 250-300k mile cars, mostly Toyota Honda and Mazda without major issues.
DO NOT do the 10k oil changes, i mean you can but you are going to end up with a 150k-200k Toyota (maybe running but with obvious issues) instead of a 250-300k. 10k works in lab conditions fine, but dirt gets in there, just change it before it gets dark. Usually 7-8k but just depends how dusty dirty polluted the area you are driving in is. Its less a issue with Toyotas and constant filter (air and oil, since both effect it) changes but stuff like VWs advertise same and its all just a gimmick, its fine if you only want car for duration of warranty but living outside that its a bad time.

With this new rewards system, I can no longer dash. In my area, it is primitive to schedule ahead, but now with this new tier system you need to have minimum 60% acceptance to be able to schedule ahead, however it’s very hard to do so because my orders are terrible. But now I can’t even get my acceptance to 60 if I wanted to because there are never any shifts available since I’m not on “silver tier” pretty unfortunate

Use earn by hour for slower time periods or when you just want to increase your acceptance rate. Again all dependent on your market.

Earn by time gets you slightly more money most of the time at the expense of not being able to see the pay upfront and not being able to pick & choose trips. If you wanna check, do by offer then multiply your active time by the amount they’re offering for pay by time. Then compare it with your dd pay (not including tips).

I built my delivery business to cater to those people. I get tipped all day long, but I don't like it. I like earning money, but I don't like getting it from tips. I want to provide a quality service and receive fair pay with no tipping at the front or back end.
In order to get that, had to start my own business. I don't allow customers to tip; there's no option for it. I do only short distance trips at a flat $5 rate. If a customer wants to pay $10, that extra buys them more than good will on my part; it buys them priority service and their delivery immediately goes to the front of the line.
$5 flat and rate and wait in the delivery line. $10 priority rate and skip to the front of the line. Those who pay extra are literally buying extra service, and getting it... as opposed to the people pay extra because of social pressure or because they think I don't earn enough. These days, a tip is as much of an insult to the receiver as it is an overcharge tax on the giver...

People will always inflate costs of things... Gas in my town is $4.90-$5.60 per gallon... However... What people under estimate is the value of freedom that comes from working for yourself... They also under estimate the mileage you get to write off on your vehicle mileage... Maintenance costs you don't get to write off but the mileage you do... However the freedom is the biggest thing to me... Being able to do what you want when you want is huge...

Unless it changed: im pretty sure you CAN deduct maintainance and gas expenses..... the catch is that if you do that, you can't deduct mileage. It's either flat mileage or specific write-offs for your car. And mileage tends to pay more since people tend to do more miles than you fix things or buy gas.

Only time EBT is actually worth is during really high peak pay (like $20hr plus tips bare minimum). If you're not multi apping a bunch of different apps, I guess that's its cool if you're okay with subpar pay per hour.

That’s why Im glad I never got to DD bc so many ppl around my area was doing it so I was on list, DD compensation & customer service sucks. Instead I went to UE, with UE you can see the order AND how much they tip before you even accept it, AND it will say if it has a tip or not. I did it for a year, it was great. Customers do not have to tip anyone shit. It’s out of the kindness of the customer. And YOU don’t have to take the order!
Now w DD, use your intuition & common sense. If it’s too far and too much stuff, & they live in an area where ppl don’t usually tip, then most likely they’re NOT TIPPING.

To be perfectly real a 16 hour drive is roughly from Chicago to Florida. If I were to rent my car to someone with the intention of so much as idling my car for 16 hours I would have to charge them at least $400.

its great to have the specific numbers... could you also show the percentages 236 vs 323 so percentage wise pocket money was 75% or something like that... and put it in excel and compare the numbers ... so that bummer days can be shown how they average out with amazing days like this... so that an overall average can be shown and the bummer days arent so low and the amazing days can be enjoyed more...
also... 5-8 pm could be good to switch back to selective orders... what would have been the difference... was it worth it... or is the peace of mind of run by time worth it more vs switching back and forth

Just because you haven't spent that much on maintenance doesn't mean you are in the clear. And just because you have a mile deduction does not mean you should neglect to factor in depreciation. After all, you factored in gas, which can't be written off if you're using the standard mile deduction.

It depends on where you dash in my location you can get 23 an hour with order but thats with 45-55 acceptance rate and with the new update you need at least a 50% to schedule good and with by time its about 20 an hour. With the by offer you have to know what you're doing to get it 23 an hour too so its about the same and less hassle with by time ill do by offer most the time but if i need my acceptance up its by time just cuz i can get a little more any hour with offer
