That pink velvet fits you SO beautifully! Your post-baby body is beautiful my friend, and this just highlights it so well! I can’t wait to cast on my half wrap and think a ranunculus in it would be so good!
You look amazing in that Pink Velvet sweater! And I love the modification you did to the neckline. I think I'll do that with all my sweaters from now on. It looks so neat (in both senses of the word).
I'm going back and re-watching some of your back catalogue. I had the same problem with my stone crop so I'm going to do the same modifications you've made here!
Thank you for sharing the neck shaping modifications. It looks like you tend to knit similar sizes to what I would knit for myself, and I am constantly stalking through ravelry to find knitters who have a similar shape/size to me and read all of their notes. This is so helpful and the Pink Velvet Sweater looks GREAT! I love the fit and might have to make one for myself.....
Stacey, let me tell you something....this sweater is so nice on you! I think because it is a little bit more fitted , is really flattering.. You are anyway so pretty...and you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations on all your accomplishment.... after all you are not so stressed ...if you ménage all you for....
You don´t have to apologize for your valid thoughts about neck lines. I have the firm belief that, if you are a professional pattern designer and claim to be size inclusive, you better do the work and learn to grade patterns properly. That usually means the neck lines and sleeves. I'm sad to say, that many big designers fail in this regard. They don't have the basic knowledge about sizing above a size L/XL. I'm a trained seamstress and are all about the fit in garments and I don't think it´s ok to pay for a pattern and then find out that the pattern don't work for all the sizes it claims to contain. You always need to do minor mods, to fit your body, but this is about getting the design elements the pattern claim to include. That's a whole other issue. You should get your crew neck, when the design is a crew neck, damn it! This is a huge pet peeve for me, as you can tell. Rant over!
First, your Pink Velvet looks beautiful. Second don't apologize for making it something you love and will wear. It looks great! I haven't knit a lot of garments (finishing my first sweater and it's WAY too big - mostly because of my bust size too and that I didn't understand ease and how it would look once finished) but I love the way it fits you. And I missed watching your episodes. Glad you are back!
That sweater looks amazing on you! I also absolutely love the colors you choose! So happy to see another episode and hope you are well! Thank you for this post!
Aww... you’re so sweet! Also... obsessed with Linen quill too, just finished my second shawl with it, plans for at least two more, and a sweater... AND I got the basket too! Sending you a big hug, and press play again, so I can keep watching.
I think this fit is very flattering on you :) I know you are self-conscious about your bust. I also had a larger bust than was comfortable for me. I got great reduction in my late 30's, and never looked back. Such a great decision, but glad I let them do their job for my kiddo, and then it was all about me :). FYI, if you ever consider it, there is lots of support and resources.
Your Pink Velvet looks perfect. The mods are great on the neck. Weirdly I also have problems with loose necks too- I’m not sure if it’s maybe because I’m a loose knitter or just short person- but I almost always have to k3 k2tog round before casting off to have a neckband that fits! But I love the fit waaayyyy more after doing that. Nothing worse than a cold neck!!!! Brrrrr.
Thank you for the podcast- it was good seeing you be so happy about your new adventure in life. I am going to be casting on the ‘catbells cardigan’ by Megan Nodecker... you should take a peak at it (it uses worsted weight yarn).
I’m so glad you love your sweater. I think you look gorgeous in it. Agree on necklines. I’m knitting midwinter by Trin Annelie and it was so refreshing to see the neckline for my size was within 2 stitches of the smallest sizes.
I have the same issues with the neckline. I'm normally around a medium 38-40 inch bust. I think I knit the third size on the no frills and mine neck is fairly wide, I was actually thinking of casting on the smallest size and increasing up to my size. That's only going to work with so many patterns though I haven't knit the stone crop but I imagine that would be difficult enough to increase up? Very annoying!! Glad to hear your new job is going well!
you should try heidi braids! I think you'd look super cute with them, and you might find them a better way to manage your hair until you can get it cut.
Your pink velvet sweater is so pretty and you look great in it. I know hearing people say that doesn’t necessarily change your mind but nevertheless you look great! I want to make the half and half triangle shawl but I always shy away from patterns that use short rows. I don’t know what it is but for some reason it confuses me. I have a plumetis shawl on my needles that has been there since June or July and I have already picked up stitches for the sides but I can’t seem to understand what I’m supposed to do according to the pattern. I have watched videos but I think I’m looking at the written instructions and I’m making it more difficult than it is. Hopefully I can learn it and then cast on all the patterns with short rows lol 😆.
I love that you raised and voiced your opinion on necklines and it is fully something I can relate to! I actually have one sweater that I LOVE but won't wear because it looks silly with just how much of my shoulders and upper chest are showing and it makes me really uncomfortable! I am a similar size to you and I don't understand how they seem to think we gain neck weight when we are bigger? Like, you do, but you don't see someone walking around like the hulk or something because they are a bigger dress size ;)
Oh I am so here for all the neckline concerns! I have had so many sweaters with gigantic neckline and have tried different fixes with various amounts of success. My go to now is to cast on for a small size and increase up to my right size. I really hate that the pattern cant be trusted to fit the same across different sizes since clearly people who need a larger busy size have an equally large neck 🙄
You are rocking that pink velvet! I knitted the Pull Jacinthe (published in Vogue) out of Peace Fleece in a gorgeous purple color. I blocked it like I do all of my other hand knits. It is still crunchy. 😔 I am looking forward to hearing how you block your Felix. The Peace Fleece website says they actually wash their sweaters in the machine. That freaks me out.
That’s a good point about the neck sizing. I would think it should get slightly larger as the sizes go up, but not at the same rate of the body, if that makes sense. Your sweater is beautiful in your yarn!
I have exactly the same problem with crew neck sweater patterns ending up looking like boat necks! I look through the projects of every sweater design and look for the largest sizes to see how the neckline sits on bigger ladies and decide whether or not to purchase patterns based on that. You are not alone!
Your pink velvet sweater is GORGEOUS and it looks incredible on you. I know a stranger’s opinion probably won’t sway your internal dialogue but it is so flattering on you. Wear it with pride! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Stacy. I really love your color pallet. Are you going to have an advent calendar this year? If so when will it be available to order? Thanks. Really enjoying your podcast.
Hey Christina! I do have an Advent this year. They were up for sale June-August so that I would have time to get them done. I'm hoping to have a few in the shop next week!
Your Pink Velvet is beautiful. I like you in the smaller size - if it makes any difference , you look tiny in this, didn't even notice your boobs. I know we should embrace whatever size we are: I'm heavier now that I used to be and I find if I knit with less positive ease, and not too long, I definitely look and feel better than if I try and disguise my body in baggier clothes
I adore your Pink Velvet. It’s gorgeous and looks great on you. I would love to make one with the exact same colors. Did you hold the Cloud single or double?
I love your sweater! It's so hard to find patterns that aren't falling off your shoulders or showing too much cleavage. And then there's the whole "crop top" obsession! Are any of you wearing shoulder bearing crop top sweaters? 🙂
I haven't knitted much sweaters, how can you tell if the neckline in the pattern is turning into a boat neck (assuming that it wasn't an intentional design element)?
I usually can tell that it looks wider than it’s supposed to be, so I try it on and it’s a huge neck hole. So I’ve just started doing the folded neckline on most of my sweaters and it’s helped!
That pink velvet fits you SO beautifully! Your post-baby body is beautiful my friend, and this just highlights it so well! I can’t wait to cast on my half wrap and think a ranunculus in it would be so good!
Your sweater is gorgeous! My first thought when I saw it was that it was tailored just for you & you look great!
You look beautiful in your Pink velvet! So happy to see you again. Love your podkast!
Your pink velvet is gorgeous! Great modification on the neck. It looks terrific!
You are just stunning in that sweater!!! It really makes you glow and that color. Love you
Your new sweater looks amazing on you! Loved this episode. Always happy to listen to your knitting ramblings.
Your Pink Velvet sweater is beautiful, and it looks good on you.
Love the way the Pink Velvet turned out. It looks great on you. Also find the Felix card interesting. So glad you are enjoying your job.
The sweater looks gorgeous on you Stacey 🥰
Your pink velvet is beautiful on you and fits perfect.
Love love your pink velvet. Great podcast 😎🇦🇺
You are so right about the necks in bigger sizes. I always add more rows in the collar and before any shaping
Yay! I'm glad you are enjoying your newish job!
Your hair looks great up!
Dont change it!
I don't usually wear pink but your sweater and your stash acquisitions are really sparking some pink inspo for me!!
Th sweater is beautiful and very flattering to you. I like round yokes. I never noticed the problem with necks. Thanks.
The sweater looks so nice on you and the rainbow stitch marker is so cute. I got to check out her store.
Sure you don't need me saying that the sweater looks beautiful ! still I will say it. It looks stunning and the colorwork falls in the perfect place
You look amazing in that Pink Velvet sweater! And I love the modification you did to the neckline. I think I'll do that with all my sweaters from now on. It looks so neat (in both senses of the word).
Your pink velvet is gorgeous and you look stunning in it!
Happy to have found a fellow MI knitter! I live a little further north, but my BF lives in the Metro Detroit area, so I spend wow down there :)
Love your pink velvet! So beautiful xx

Your Pink Velvet looks great on you!
LOVE your aesthetics! Lovely podcast!!!
You look gorgeous in your pink velvet! Love it!
Loving your sweater Stacy! We're making the same wrap in pink but I'm waiting for my yarn to arrive.
Your sweater looks beautiful on you!! It was so nice to pop on RUclips and see a new Stress Knits podcast!! 😊❤️😊
I was just thinking I haven't seen your face in awhile. Can't wait to watch!
You look stunning in that sweater, I totally love it, and with the dress it looks amazing! Got to love an outf with pockets. 😍❤️💕
Lovely sweater you’re wearing. Congrats on new job - so happy for you!!

Amen to that

You look just gorgeous in that sweater, Stacey!
Your Pink Velvet looks amazing! I have yarn in a similar main color and a minty blue picked out to cast on as a Happy New Year sweater!
That sweater looks amazing on you! I also absolutely love the colors you choose! So happy to see another episode and hope you are well! Thank you for this post!
You’re wearing it! Yay-love, love, love that sweater in you. 🥰

Yes! That combo!!! Exactly. Preach sister.
by the way, I decided this weekend, moisturizing lotion is my new yoga. Yep, it’s down to that.

New subscriber! Just found you and really enjoyed watching this episode! That sweater looks absolutely gorgeous! 🤩💕
ohh Tulip in morning dove!! I am excited to see what her tulip cardigan will be like, and I might just have to get some of that morning dove for it :)

I feel you on the grading sometimes! I have that problem with the arms sometimes. Never paid attention to the neck though!
