I really love MB14’s style of looping, would love if there was a limited effects category to encourage more loopers like that. Though if MB14 came back I definitely think he could win with his best rounds. If sbx did a spacetime loop legends with MB14, Tom Thum and some others that would be amazing (assuming they get more than a minute for rounds).
@@j102h Unfortunately the categories only focus on devices, not effects. Since the MK2 allows stuff like pre-inputted melodies and effects that use 0% of the voice input and are only “vocal triggers” loopers still don’t need to use much vocal technique outside basic drums and singing. The producer category mentions they’ll be penalized for using too many “vocal triggers” that don’t use voice as input, but there’s no indication of if that applies to regular loopstation. I guess we will see if people use more vocals, or if the category still focuses on live music production over vocals.
@@ryansmallwood1178 Probably the former. For better or worse, the trend seems to be in that direction. The purists that want to conserve limitations are going to be the minority, and nobody can really argue that the final product is better for it(for the crowd at least). Look at Inkie!

He’s still solo battling and duo battling with Saro but he hasn’t done any Loop-station competitions since 2017. I think he just doesn’t have time to do everything, he already has to write and practice routines for two other competitions every year so he’s probably just tapped out. He just had to back-out of this years solo competition because he was asked to be on The Voice France Champions which premiered yesterday. He’ll probably use a lot of the songs and routines he was working on for GBB 2021.

The art of loopstation and ya'lls community is something else, I am a complete beginner but I just love what I've heard and follow it on RUclips. he speaks pretty accent-less english too. he spoke once about how as a child he loved to imitate sounds. i think that's how he picked it up like watching movies and stuff. actually he's done some very good QUALITY game of thrones impressions. ypu can check it out on his channel
A lot of it has to do with diction or how you pronounce and enunciate words while singing. It’s very different than how you would pronounce them while talking if you do it properly and anyone that’s had good vocal training will tend to do this. When you sing you modify all your vowels to be wide open so that the sound can get out better and be more resonant. American English accents in particular also use a lot of open vowel sounds so it’s mostly a coincidence. 🙂

First of all, thank you for making us, people at home, sing along. I just had to explain to my kids that our cat was, in fact not dying, and that they should go back to bed... Second of all, although you actually look both envious and in love watching MB14 at work, I have to agree with your comment that the main function of a loop station should be the looping itself. Seeing so many devices being used seems to step away from beatboxing and looping and step more towards whoever can best produce a full EDM track in 3 mins on the spot. Still a very note worthy skill set that deserves recognition and applause, but not what I personally want to see. I'm wondering if future beatbox championships and competitions will start creating more categories, like single device looping only vs full on Bring-your-own-producer-station.
Seriously MB14 has an amazing voice, his mid tenor tone with the slight rasp he has is so good and smooth... I actually saw MB14 while watching the Voice France TV show with my ex-wife years before I ever got into beatboxing. Lol

By the way I think Pe4enkata - Rada is a very underappreciated vocal loop track. Its a music video rather than a live performance, but its great to hear her do stuff that showcases her singing abilities, I hope she does more loop tracks in the future.

MB14 is just peak talent combined with peak skill. And the result of that i a joy to listen to. But I got to point out... I can´t remember when the last time was I saw a BreZ video with him being so full of energy. Was also nice to see. Except he confused me later when he kept singing at the female-only part^^ (Oh, and just to confirm: the people chanted "Zugabe", which means they want an encore.)

He is also already a complete artist in solo beatboxing... He might be weak with patterns but his arrangement and vocal techniques in solo beatboxing are soo good and we all know that he is the loop god :)

Zugabe = Zu + Gabe. In this case, "Gabe" means gift and the prefix "Zu-" means "extra". So in Germany, we ask for a little extra gift from the artist
