Six police officers sworn in, 14 promotions, professional staff recognized

On May 11, 2023, the Portland Police Bureau came together for a hiring and promotion ceremony. Several professional staff members were hired and 6 community police officers were sworn in. In addition, 10 officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant, 2 officers were promoted to detective, and 2 officers were promoted to criminalist.
Mayor Ted Wheeler, Commissioner Dan Ryan, Commissioner Rene Gonzalez, and Chief Chuck Lovell spoke to our members, their families, friends, and loved ones.
