Step 1
Find the vending machine location
- [ ] There are different ways to start the a vending machine
- [ ] The easiest and fastest way to starts a vending machine business is to buy a route
1. Buying a location just means your buying the place where to put your vending machine
- [ ] You can find these routes and location on Facebook marketplace, OfferUp and Craigslist
- [ ] Code call companies and ask to put your vending machine in their location
Step 2 How much do you need
- [ ] You can buy a vending machine for 300-700 dollars
- [ ] When you start getting top tier locations go to vending machine suppliers.
- [ ] Vending machine suppliers are more reliable and most time offer warranties and show you how to buy a use vending machine
- But usually there more expensive and less likely to negotiate
- [ ] How to inspect vending machine
- [ ] For snack vending machine
- [ ] Make sure that’s every coil works
Put quarters nickels dimes dollars
- [ ] For drink machines
1. Make sure that the vending machines accepts all forms of payment quarters nickels dimes
2. Make sure that the vending machine gets cold.
- Tell the owner turn on the vending machine before you come because it takes about 15 minutes to get
What makes a good location
- [ ] Foot traffic - Many people are walking by
- Make sure your putting your vending machine in a visible area
- [ ] Seclusion - meaning that there are not that many stores around
- [ ] Long hours- Find places where people wait a very long time
- [ ] Put the right vending machines
- [ ] Combo machines are very small and require good for small places where you can’t put both a snack and drink machine
- [ ] Snack and drink combos are good duo
- [ ] Makes sure you measure your vending machine location to ensure a perfect fit
- [ ] We buy Dixie Narco drink machines and Royale drink machines
- [ ] We buy Ap snack machines
- [ ] Our cheapest vending machine was $500 most expensive is 3k
- [ ] Stay away from Sega vending machines. Was told by seasoned vending machine owners that they have maintenance issue
Credit card reader
- [ ] We don’t have any are locations use mostly cash
- [ ] Credit card reader charge you 3 ways first to buy then a monthly charge then on every product
Different plays you can run with vending machine
- [ ] You can flip vending machine location.
- [ ] We bought a vending route for 3k and sold one location for 4k
- [ ] If a location doesn’t want your service but wants a vending machine sell it to them.

One thing I am constantly seeing being left out is the real way on how to start a Vending Machine Business. Finding a location is a later step. Did you form a LLC, LLC-S Corp, Did you draft your articles of formation, EIN, Business Bank Account did you take a loan for your first vending machine, if so how did you get the loan, (SBA, savings, vending company financing, etc.), what business insurance did you get? This is the stuff people who really want to get into vending need to know. Sure 5 digit income is great, but what is the real cost and reward. Your video still hits on important items, like testing the machine before you buy it, if you have cash for the machines offer it up and don't let others get ahead of you, transportation of the machine. But lets talk about it from the very beginning. Let's not assume everyone knows what they need to do prior to scouting for locations. Your video is probably one of the most comprehensive I have seen on this subject. No one has really combined how to start a business and how to get into vending after starting the business. Keep the videos coming!

Wow this is one of the best vending machine business videos I have come across. It was very informative and not discouraging. I feel like you were transparent with the ups and downs in the business. I am more confident now to start investing in vending machines. As a single mom of 3 I am trying to level up in 2023! Yay to almost being monetizing, LOL I cant wait to reach my mark! 🙏

Way to go guys! This is so far the best comprehensive video I've watched on starting a vending machine company. You both are well spoken and have a great delivery system with the experience you've had in the industry. I am looking at buying a few for my teenagers to run and start the Entrepreneur bug in them. So, I have a question. You mentioned about having enough coins to make change for dollar bills. What would be a good ratio for coins not to run out? ( because it seems I would remove the bills on a timely basis to budget and utilize the net for living, putting back into my business, pay for refunds...if any, etc.

If you full up the coin mech you probably won’t have to full it up for a long time. Because let’s say that it’s low the coins people put in will automatically fill it up

2 questions. 1) how do you check each coil? Do you have to put money in each time or can you do a manual check? 2) what about contracts for locations? How much profit does the property take or do you avoid those? If the do have to take a percentage what is a reasonable percentage? Or is there a tip you could recommend to talk them down?
What you would do is bring a bunch of dollar bills and go through it. But some machines have a feature where it goes through every coil. As far as contracts we have one on our website. We pay no commissions at any of our locations but a reasonable percentage would be 10%. But remind them that you are a service provider providing a free service. Also what we would do is ask the location (only if they bring up commission) to place the vending machine two month no commission to see if the location is worth it. Hopefully this helps

And is there a monthly budget you'd suggest for repairs, such as expect to pay x amount a month or put 10% of your profits into a savings fund for mechanical fixes. What can one expect the average annual mechanical maintenance on drink and snack machines yearly to be (especially if you buy used)? Basically how do you know if a repair tech is ripping you off?
@@natashacarter8420 you should save 10% of your net for big repairs. Mostly everything on a vending you can fix yourself with the help of RUclips videos. The only thing you can’t do is fix a condenser(the thing that makes the drinks cold). Usually from my experience with vending machine repair people they charge $100 for coming out and for every part they add to the machine
