Yeah, Dany's vocals were great, got the emotion to come through.🤘🤘 You needn't have worried about the language. lol. Pau had mentioned in an interview that this song was a favorite of hers for a breakup song. Somewhat of a full circle moment as well. Pau, for her it's like walking like when you listen to the music you like on your headphones, she develops with the tranquility, calm and confidence of knowing that she is a multi-awarded and recognized musician and with the inner peace of recognizing, being very satisfied with it, that this is not another of her moments to shine.
Ale, like her sister, is developing with the tranquility that comes from years of practicing on her bass with jazz exercises, leaving in her performance her own well-known "mark" of excellence.
    Dany...
Simply with this Dany shows us why she is the vocal leader of this tremendous power-trio... and that's it.!!
It's Pau who is mentioned that no one would want to anger her... Dany is a sweetheart.
    Well, actually they both are.
Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽

To me, this is better than the original, and I'm saying that as a huge fan of *Jagged Little Pill.* They dropped the gratuitous profanity. Dany is awesome. No neurotic psychosis. Just dripping sarcasm and hurt, punctuated with anger. Ale shines on this with her jazz bass lines. Pau is tastefully restrained when needed, going hard when needed. Flawless brush work there. You can just imagine Dany singing this to an ex, "in the middle of dinner," and the ex's new main squeeze flying out of the restaurant, wailing, hands in the air. The Warning don't normally do covers any more. This is from this past summer. If you go back to 2019 and watch their Metallica cover live at the Whisky-a-GoGo, or go back to 2016 and watch their "out of the basement" cover of Foo Fighters' *The Pretender,* those are both great. They also did *Pretender* at the 2016 TEDx Talk. Either way, they fight more foo than the originals, and there are only three of them.

Considering the artists they were covering, Alanis, Flea, Dave Navaro and Taylor Hawkins (RIP), to me they made an excellent job of it and I really liked their spin on it. I think "Are you thinking of me when you touch her?" kinda hits harder than the original lyric. How often do people in a relationship touch? A hug? Holding hands? A quick kiss? Cuddling on the couch? ARE YOU THINKING OF ME WHEN YOU TOUCH HER
I mean, damn. If he wasn't before, he is now...
While everyone is rightly talking about Dany's vocals on this, I think Ale is the real star here. Flea (of Red Hot Chili Peppers; the bassist on Alanis's original studio recording) was 32 or 33 when Alanis released the original. As the story goes, his timing had to be fixed in post production. And here's not-even-twenty Ale, laying down that same bassline with metronome precision and making it look like she's running scales to warm up.

Dany's voice is such a natural fit for this song and she absolutely nailed it here but Ale casually killing it on Flea's bassline while thinking about what snacks she wants to eat after this recording is almost as entertaining to watch. My recommendations for other covers from them are 'Creep' ruclips.net/video/A6Y4XpBxjU0/видео.html, 'The Pretender' ruclips.net/video/yjDkAnaTVVY/видео.html and of course 10 year old Paulina on the drums playing the Cobus version of 'My life would suck' ruclips.net/video/MUAhV8K-v3A/видео.html

They have done a lot of covers, my list will probably not be complete:
Metallica - Enter Sandman ( original and their own version) and Atlas Rise
Foo Fighters - The Pretender and Everlong
    Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Guns n' Roses - Sweet Child of Mine
    Muse - Hysteria and Resistance
    AC/DC - Back in Black
Jingle Bell Rock ( with manager Rudy on vocals)
Mötley Crüe - Kickstart my Heart
Twisted Sister - We're no gonna take it
Pau and Dany have also done covers solo.

SiriusXM has artists do exclusive sessions on a regular basis. Which channel it gets broadcast on is genre dependent. They often ask the atrist/band to do a cover as part of the set - they have enough of these covers that they have a 'Covers' channel. The choice of what is covered, or even if a cover is done is up to the artist. The cover has to be pre-approved by the original copyright holders, so this song was chosen well before this taping. So the point is this was not a 'spur-of-the-moment' choice by the Warning, they probably submitted more than 1 song for approval, then it had to be cleared before they recorded this session.

Just to clarify, it's Paulina you don't want to make mad. LOL! But Day always brings out her expressions of what she feels of the lyrics. Not only is she a first class singer, but a fantastic performer and she acts out the feeling of each song.

Paulina is nothing but cool back there. Ale kills that bass line. Smooth as silk. Dany, vocally has matured so much. She could not have pulled that off 2 years ago.
First time I heard it, I went and listened to Alanis right behind it, Dany is better. Im sure its just my preference. She is thicker in her tone.

Musically and vocally they absolutely killed it and did this song justice. That being said, its a shame that they had to PG-13 it for Sirius. Just those two edits to the lyrics detracts a lot for people who love this song. At least it did for me.

It was fine that they changed the lyrics. It would also have been fine if they hadn't. It's rock music. The decision is entirely DPA's to make as artists and as adults, not their mom's or their fan's (no disrespect intended to either). DPA insisted on using a profanity in Consume; that doesn't make them immoral or wrong, they made a decision as artists based on what they thought stayed true to their artistic vision, made sense for the song, was more impactful, etc. I applaud and respect them for staying true to themselves.

I don’t know if a song is perfect for someone if they change the lyrics. That means they did not connect with some part of the song, which is fine but clearly not a “perfect fit”
    She sang it well though

I agree she sang it well. I guess if they're trying to be more PG or radio friendly, it makes sense. But I can see your point - I would have a hard time singing it and not saying the actual words. Vulgar or not. 😏 I assume even if they wanted to maybe this place wouldn't let them? 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️

@@dondee5439 Different time. I suspect if the internet had been as ubiquitous back then, she would not have felt the need to do that. In my opinion it detracts from the emotional content of the song.
