Belinda has had an amazing week and displayed highest class tennis. Even if she doesn't make it through the final, what's been done is such a big achievement, beating in a row Sabalenka, Halep and Svitokina. Simply amazing for her. Hope this boosts her confidence to make it back to the top 10s this year!
Wonderful match by both players. Congrats, Bencic. You are getting stronger with every consecutive match. Hope that you win the tournament and that you get in the top TEN soon.
Belinda has everything in her to be constantly in top ten. She needs to work on her serve & forehand and then she will be a top 3 & grand slam hopeful as well. Happy to see her comeback..
Bencic is very talented and she isnt powerless pusher. So much better than so called pushers!her direction changing is one of best I have ever seen The way she takes ball on rise is like hingis! In batch of 97 she has every chance to be success like Naomi. she Can win many slams
She plays a bit like hingis, but hit stronger. Hingis got better variation and exceptional volley, bencic got more firepower and better serve. Both are very good at changing ball direction. However, against big hitters Bencic also often have problem, same with hingis.
97 batch is so strong because of me :P (joking as I'm 97 too) But in all seriousness look at what they have already achieved Australian Open: Winner (N.Osaka, 2019) French Open: Winner (J.Ostapenko, 2017) Wimbledon: Semi-Final (J.Ostapenko, 2018) US Open: Winner (N.Osaka, 2018) Olympics: Quarter-Final (D.Kasatkina, 2016) WTA/ATP Finals: Winner (A.Zverev, 2018) And all that is without Bencic who has now already won two Premier 5 titles and been a Top 10 player!
Bilenda bencic greatest player in the history l hope she won always if hadnet the injuries no player can beating her she beating serena Williams when was her old 17 years
forty love really? It’s her weaker side unless she’s going cross court. If she’s down the line she hits with too much topspin like Hingis, but she can change direction like her too. Her backhand is really the more dangerous, faster side.
With this victory she'd secured at least 28th in the new ranking on next Monday. Players climb up in ranking order by winning. Bencic so far has done it by improving her mental composure, maturity. Her game too going at higher level! Fantastic!
The way to beat Bencic is hit everything right at her body and change speeds often (hard flat, high spinny, low slice. Everything down they middle.. Even chip shots down the middle). Basically you need to make her get out of the way of the ball. She will be uncomfortable. Then attack. Push her out wide or just give her space and she thrives. It's about her efficient (hingis like footwork.. But hingis knew how to handle those shots).
Too good to be true (not won the tournament though)! The momentum was inclined towards Svitolina, well-established top 10 & a defending champion! Here in Dubai, after Doha, 2nd match of the year is presented. (In both of them, Bencic was in!) As one of the (The) commentator, David Mercer, said "now it is (the quality semi final in the final set)!" Svitolina played well, focusing on what she has to do. In contrast, Bencic in a game twice committed unforced errors by driving volley rather ridiculously! So many people sensed this is the end of Bencic's fine march in the desert .. Today, she failed in containing her frustration, irritated visibly. 9th & 10th games made an interesting contrast. Bencic kept her service game with all (but one?) 1st serves, good ones, in, while Svitolina struggled there, & eventually got broken the game. Just below 60 % is Svitolina's norm, as if the 1st serve were less important. So casual & occasionally meters long 1st serve has been a long mystery. She paid the price. The match with dramatic twists & turns end up with 7 - 5? Close enough. 0 - 40 it was!! How she managed into a tie breaker is another feature of the day. From the last 3, 4 games to the end, complexion of the match changed. Both players took more cautious approach to avoid unnecessary free point to the other. Bencic paid more attention on her serve, as double faults creeping in there. Svitolina sticking to her gun, moves around the court, waiting for the opportunity to hit back. Looked Svitolina who was more solid & consistent. Bencic's response was extraordinary: to hold the nerve. Secured rally would lead her nowhere. Aggressive game was crucial for her. And she did it! Under such a tense situation, she put it through. Often said "tennis is a mental game". Tension so high, muscles rigid, clear thinking stays next to impossible. An inner enemy, the toughest one, it is what a player has to deal with under the situation like this. Unusually strong desire to win by Bencic worked there positively & rationally. That does happen very rarely! Congrats to both players & many thanks for such an extraordinary drama! Now Bencic stays within 30 in the new ranking. Pity exit of defending champion, but she demonstrated how she is & will be.
Poor tactics from Svitolina. I think she relied on Bencic being tired and making mistakes, which wasn't the case. Elina should have had Belinda running to the corners.

They have enough money to pay the licence to keep the tournament there. Even if they don't have no tennis player, for what I know. At least none in the first 100-300. Interesting! :)
Osaka has way bigger weapons. A serve which clocks up to 120 mph which wins her easy points. A massive forehand. Though Belinda will win slams but Naomi will win more bcoz of her bigger game
Hopefully 'not-much-class' Bencic has no tantrums in the final, shouting at the ball kids, bashing racquets, etc. ... Kvitova's balls will be much faster and heavier.
Great tennis by Bencic but she has an awful attitude on court. Screaming at her father, screaming whenever she is losing. Horrible to watch. That mentality can't be good for her. Hope Kvitova beats her.
@@cissynakimuli771 Happy? Well done to her for winning. But I've watched all of her matches except round one and it still stands that her attitude is atrocious. People give Ostapenko etc a hard time but she isn't nearly as bad as Bencic. It isn't shown in the highlights. She played very well though.
Great match! but Bencic should control her temper... it's so unprofessional breaking your racket if you have a setback.. if she did not get pissed all the time she could have won in 2 sets.
I hope Halep wins Wimbledon or the US open, Kvitova to win any slam beside Wimbledon this year and same for Pliskova. Would love to see Ostapenko wins a WTA title this year and Venus to have a miracle 2 weeks at the slams.

I agree with what you said if it was 3 years ago, but her serve and forehand is till no where near Naomi...
I hate her, pusher

She had like 20 plus errors on that side today, I like her game a lot, just worried that the forehand

Bencic showing what she can do. Nice to have her back.
WOW!! Bencic 21years old...stable!!
I want her to win that trophy!!! Go Bencic!!
What a match

Bencic is having the week of her career!!!! Why can't she seem to sustain this level throughout the year?? Great Win

Bencic hits hard, clean groundstrokes. Maybe she's been working on her fitness.
Svitolina looks completely like Sharapova from the back

Top 5 Bencic is. Hope she is injured free because she is grand slam worthy talent.
Belinda Bencics sudden rise is beyond me... anyway good for her..
Seems she took some classes from Federer :) good job
Great week so far but I think Kvitová will win the final
Bencic is my favorite but I feel you're right.
Nope! Will surely win this dubai tournament final.
that right ,..if petra tired bencic can win but if petra forhand on point that scary
Yeeeeee

Belinda has a chip return. Federeresque. Can't think of another female player that does this.
camera2painting I notice Barty chips her return once in awhile
Work with Federer gave her more self confidence and inspiration I think.
i, thought Bencic, was done in the third set.
How do these tournaments stay in the Middle East. This as last week has many empty seats.

Aguante Belinda vamos x el torneo 👍
She’s back to snatch these girls up!!! If Osaka and Ostapenko can win grand slams, surely can Belinda.

tre artis Osaka? Lol
Not with that Serve... She should be a top 10 slam not yet, I am her fan btw
I felt Elina Svitolina could've won if she came up to the net more at 5-4 but always next year though title number 3 hopefully.
❤️
