As someone with level 1 Asian hair, having a lightener that can lift 9 levels is important to me so that I only need one round of application. And unfortunately, I haven’t been able to achieve that with wella blondor. I’ve been using Guy Tang’s big 9 and I quite like it.
I've definitely found that to be the case with the original Blondor but since they brought out BlondorPlex and are now branding it as a 9 level lightener I can definitely see a considerable difference with lift in comparison to the original blondor which although I love, definitely isn't as strong of a lifter
So I used to use the Wella blondorplex because of Zach’s recommendation as well and it worked okay, I’m a level 4 base and I do bleach retouches on myself, I never was totally happy with the end result with it, I had lots of bands and yellow spots and was resorting to using heat and leaving it in extra long just to reach the inside of a banana peel color and it was getting ridiculous how long it would take. One thing to make note of as well is that Zach works for wella and gets paid to use and promote their products, I decided to try the blondme on whim out of being frustrated with blondorplex and boy did it make an immediate difference, I got the a level 10 quickly and easily and it wasn’t nearly as stressful as it was with blondorplex, I prefer the blondme and yea the swelling is annoying but man it’s so much quicker and less stressful, maybe cuz my base is darker is why I was struggling with the blondorplex, it only lifts 7 levels and blondme lifts 9, so yea I prefer the blondme.
I'm the same! I was trained using wella but always preferred schwarzkopf products in general! Blondor didn't give me the lift I was looking for and i have had far better results even with schwarzkopf igora bleach line!
I started doing my hair myself in 2020 and was told by a hair dresser friend to try Schwarzkopf blonde me! It did NOT disappoint. I'm a 6-7 naturally and was leaving bleach on my hair way too long to get the desired lift. Blondeme immediately changed my routine. It lifts quickly, and I can get to a 10 in about 35 minutes. Much less time than my "other" bleach! I have been experimenting with their toners. They are so beautiful.
@@patticakesintexaswhat volume developer do you use? I use 40 ion with wella color charm bleach and leave it on for an hour and it still doesn’t get it completely as white as id like . I also use the t18 toner but when i do my roots again i have to go over the banding from last time to get it to lift to the right level . Its annoying but it always comes out pretty nice. No damage or anything like that and ive been doing that for ten years. So im looking around to see if maybe theres a better bleach or am i doing something wrong? Idk 🤷♀️ if you have any advice would be helpful thanks 🙏
I switched from Wella to Schwarzkopf 2 sessions ago. I LOVE the lift from Schwarzkopf, but Wella stays under control better - less swelling and that's helpful. I have experienced breakage from Schwarzkopf from overlapping so I might switch back to Wella. Ug. Decisions! Anyway, GREAT video!
I have used both Blondeme by Schwarzkopf and Blondor by Wella and pretty much agree with the other comments Wella does NOT lift as well nor does it reach the level that Schwarzkopf does. Got to leave on longer and then it dries and stops lifting and their developer tends to oxidize faster. So Back to Schwarzkopf and all it's great products.
I’m a wella girl 😂 was trained with wella in Australia. Moved back home to Thailand where everyone is a level 2-3 coarse hair and I don’t have any problem lifting them as long as they’re applied in thin sections. I don’t do a lot of bleach out but roots touch up is no problem too. I see a lot of positive reviews about BlondeMe and I bought it. The lift is good as expected but I honestly can’t work with its soupy texture. To make it creamy the way I like I’d need a lot more bleach compare to Blondor.
In the salon I work at (assistant) they love BlondMe, and rightfully so as our clients are mostly latinamericans and it works nice and fast, but I really want to try other brands cause I see how much and how fast it can swell, sometimes the foils are falling from how watery it gets
I just got done using Wella Blondor and I love it. It's so mild. No scalp issues. Of course I didn't wash my hair for days and there was an oil protecting my scalp.😁
I do not like that. Her roots are very purple and her ends are not. Even the mid shaft is a different purple. I honestly like the mid-shaft color. Best. Too bad you couldn't get even color through the entire thing. I appreciate you testing the product out, and very much appreciate the client allowing you to do so. Most people would not experiment with their hair. She's a brave lady!! I look forward to future videos with showing us products and how they work.
Wow I just happened upon your page! This is awesome. I find with blondorplex I start the application in the back where the hair is darker and denser then work through to the front where the texture changes and becomes finer.
Thank you so much!! I loved the ethereal unicorn look it gave her! She loves purple hair but she also works a professional job and having something slightly lavender that only really lasts a handful of washes is perfect for her! We’ve had SO MANY ANIMALS!! (Dogs, a cat, a bird and a hedgehog!)
My BlondeMe barely swells when I add Olaplex and I do a 1:2. I have the Wella at home too, but I'm somehow scared that it's gonna be too harsh because I've found other Wella products really damaging on the hair in the past. But these results are beautiful of course!
I use ion creme oil lightener and 20 volume developer....it's not bleach but it lifts 8 levels. Smells like Nice and Easy mixed with flowers when applying....no smell after rinsing. My roots are very dark and hair is naturally curly.....that product lifts me to a blonde that's level 10 even though the label says 8. Consistently. It kinda stops working on it's on after like an hour so if you forget the timer ..no worries. I use a vegan pink color that uses no developer so I depend on the lightener for the heavy lifting (pun intended) and that's worked for years with no breakage.
Blondor is the very best as far as I'm concerned! My hairdresser has used it on me for many years to frost my hair. It doesn't get brassy, it's gentle on my hair, and never had a single issue. He used a cap which works extremely well for my really short hair to frost it. It grows out perfectly and doesn't leave noticeable bad spots at all. Since it's a multi blonde you don't notice anything but beautiful muti color which is very even all over, not spotting. My hairdresser never used any sort of toner and as I said it's perfect. My hairdresser and really good friend sadly suddenly passed away, so I've had to find a new one. My new one had never heard of Blondor until I bought it so she could use it on my hair. She was totally shocked that it didn't turn brassy, but I am a natural blonde by birth, so that might help and have never used any color other than the Blondor on my hair. She's so glad I introduced it to her and that I wanted her to use a cap. She said she'd not use one much in the last few years, but that it worked great on my short hair and she plans on suggesting it more for some of her other clients. I have never had anything other than a 20 volume developer used with the Blondor on my hair, thus the reason it's probably stay healthy.
Wella Blondor is the only lightener I use in the salon with 10 and 20 vol only🤍 no swelling, beautiful lift even on my coarse, dark hair girlies. I never use heat to process and never have had a bleeder bc it stays put!
I use 20vol on the back of the head and 30vol on the front. The 20 lifts great but I’m also a little slow. I’m thinking about maybe bumping it down to 10 or 15vol and see how that works out for me. But yeah I’ve used blondor forever and I love it!
Schwarzkopf has recently launched a Blondme bleaching powder which is specifically for roots. Also, could clay powder be used on the roots, since it doesn't swell?

I think the bleach is amazing. The toners on the other hand, not as much. I used the strawberry toner and it was really patchy. It did fade out into a gorgeous peachyroseblonde.
interested to see how this goes! i use blondme at home and i started using cotton to deal with the swelling as i'm so afraid of overlap. it'd be nice to find another lightener i can trust and skip that step.
I use blondme for about a year and so, but i swells too much, especially in hot days, and i don t even cover it or use foils, because it s already bleeding bad. Doesen t matter if i use a 1:1 or a 1,5 or a 1:2 ratio. I did a lot of breakage because of that and next time i said i will buy blondorplex, if not, maybe goldwell silk lift to see if this still happens
Blondor multi blonde powder is pretty gentle considering it absolutely gets up to the 7levels of lift on virgin hair that is insulated with foil. It's hard to melt hair with if unless you overlap something you *really* shouldnt have. It swells MINIMALLY. if you've used redken up to 7 bleach ( literallly doesnt swell at all) , this one swells the tiniest bit more than that. If you were to do a bleach retouch youd want to leave about a milimiter of the regrowth between the bleach and the previouslt lightened hair for swelling where as with redken up to 7 you cant leave any and habe to almost overlap some to cover all the regrowth. Blondor multi blonde powder doesn't get super liquidy and slippery as it processes like blondeme does either. It also lifts with less of an ugly raw tone on the same head of hair at the same level of lift than redken. I haven't used the blondorplex variety but I genuinely don't see the need. I have no difficulty personally telling thr true color of the hair through the light blue colored lightener after wiping it off to check. If you put it under heat it will swell more. If I do a bleachout on virgin medium coarseness i canlift a highly porous wella scale level4/Schwarzkopf or goldwell scale level 5 with blondor and 30 volume on ends and 15 on roots processed under a cap in a medium room temperature for 50 minutes to a wella level 8/goldwell level9. Goldwell silklift blue (the stronger lift one with no toning pigment) was reformulated few years ago and went from being my favorite up to 7 bleach for its gentleness (lifted slower but as well as blondor) but post reformulated it was runny an hard to foil with unless I added the goldwell thickener. Of you mixed it outside of manufacture suggested ratio the consistency wild change quickly as some coworkers tried.
I have been using Wella for almost 20 years. When I went to VCC for my hairdressing course in 2005, the school used Schwarzkopf, goldwell. Basically when it comes to color I have used goldwell, joico, Schwarzkopf, Redken, L'Oreal and now Matrix. If I have a choice for color line I would use L'Oreal and bleach Wella 🤷. I have only been using matrix system less than a month. 🤷🤔😊
With 20 peroxide and how long? Before, it didn't irritate me as much as 2 bleaches ago, which caused me to have swelling and a lot of itching to the point of not being able to tolerate it. I have been blonde for a long time and now I don't understand why it irritates me so much, I would like to try this Wella product
SKP definitely has a stronger lift and I use it for my foiling work. I've found mixing the two brands together works great for keeping the lightener in place and from swelling as well as getting a bright lift!
I usually use Schwartzkopf bleach too - I have been waiting for my developer to use and it is taking forever - can I use any Developer - for instance wella developer??
I love it! I have been watching so much blondme tutorials/vids. And i just think it is too strong for my hair and not necessary with so much lift. I have a semipermanent bluish sea weed ocean Witchi color. I want to go purple with some pink and black stripes. But platina blond. Yeah i al going to experiment with semi permanent. So my question is do i need to tone it after? Or is bleach bath, bleach and purple mask/shampoo enough? I have semi permanent on virgin dark blond hair, so it washes out very easily espeacially my roots. Never bleached these lengths i have now. :D
Thanks I bc I was torn between which to get for integrity of my hair… u cleared up the wella vs blondeme dispute for me lol. Thanks so much inside t want to have to spend as much for the SBM it’s very expensive. Going to try the blondor myself .. wish me luck🤞🏻😉🥰
By the way best Wella products are the Kolestone Range, as they are free from many nasty things and work amazing nowthey even have more violet base just like illumina.
Hi Bobbys- I trained with wella here in the uk and the Koleston colours are awful. Very very warm (yellow brunette based) the Illumina are lovely for toning but I’m definitely sold on the blondorplex for minimal swelling
@@SupTJay yes, German ladies do tend to love the more golden shades. Schwarzkopf being the coolest of all the lines. Koleston is far far too warm for the UK where cooler colours are preferred
Why don’t you start with the back? Starting at the crown where it’s the most dense for most, and then moving to the front? That way you can easily rinse the back once it’s lightened, without having to rinse the entire head so the front sections can continue to process? Not to be rude, but banding and the panic of sections over processing while others are brought up to your desired lift could be avoided if you did it that way. I know you’ve mentioned your blonde guru following the method you’ve done in this video, but maybe give ‘SLKBLEACHEXPERT’ a watch. She’s a gem to the industry.
Haha! Jk I found it!!!! LOVE your videos btw! As a hairstylist that’s been out the game for two years, these are all amazing refreshers! Really really appreciate you
@@BobbyHairStudio my favorite lightener is wella blondor multiblonde (not blondorplex). I dont like 9 level lift bleaches, they tend to be more harsh on the hair. When blondorplex was announced it was said its a 7level bleach but now they changed it to 9 as it is stronger as they "wanted? idk". So they reannounced it as 9level bleach instead of 7 but the formula is the same. For highlights wella blondor multiblonde (same as londa blondoran, same brand just cheaper!) for scalp bleach wella blondor soft blonde!!! it was a gamechanger for me.. never dries out so it lifts the hair to a level10 every time even on level2-3 coarse hairs too 😍😍I dont like blondme, neither vario super plus, its swelling is out of this world and I cant make it work to not swell and cause damage. But for virgin hair lightening, and box dye removing blondme every time 😏😏
Wella is superior. They really invest a lot in product development and when they think they can throw something on the market that product really is high quality.

Which respect more the hair even if it doesnt get white , blonde me wella or blond studio 8😊
Apparently Blondeme doesn’t swell if you use a different brand developper(not oil based)
Thanks I bc I was torn between which to get for integrity of my hair… u cleared up the wella vs blondeme dispute for me lol. Thanks so much inside t want to have to spend as much for the SBM it’s very expensive. Going to try the blondor myself .. wish me luck🤞🏻😉🥰
JOICO BLONDE LIFE.....TRUST ME! Fave bleach
Where do you order joico from
Omg the cat in the bag 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Did you use the Wella 0lex no 2, I want to try 8t but I just found the Lightener, what could I use instead. I need your help , thanks in advance.
Love this! How long does the application take?
Great job great info
I used Wella Toner first time ever and my blonde ….. it came out amazing 🎉
Amazing!
Wella 8-81 and 10-0 (equal parts) are just a no fail white blonde.
Wella is better?
With me having Level 1 Black hair will it be able to achieve the Eminem blonde with this dye?
Interesting.
I was going to buy blondeme but now I consider wella, because I have a lot of grown out roots and different colors to tackle. 😅
By the way best Wella products are the Kolestone Range, as they are free from many nasty things and work amazing nowthey even have more violet base just like illumina.
Having more cool tone built in doesn't make it better if you know how to formulate
I use Blondor for year i love the best
Hi Bobbys- I trained with wella here in the uk and the Koleston colours are awful. Very very warm (yellow brunette based) the Illumina are lovely for toning but I’m definitely sold on the blondorplex for minimal swelling
Thanks for the info!
Wella is actually very cool overall for a German line
@@SupTJay yes, German ladies do tend to love the more golden shades. Schwarzkopf being the coolest of all the lines. Koleston is far far too warm for the UK where cooler colours are preferred
Love Zach!!!
Jack Winn Pro, Brilliant.
Wins by far. I can send you some if you would like to try it
We’ll is the only product my hairdresser can use on my hair.
I have black hair and i want to dye it using this bleach so i wnat to colour my hair red or pink shades so can i use this bleach
How long did you leave the bleach on the roots? My hairdresser leaves 20 volume on for 1hr! Seems like a lot of time 🤷♀️
I have dark brown hair and use 20vol for 1hr 15m, to acheive a pale yellow
thankyou for mentioning the toner 😍
My pleasure 😊
Can use a 10 vol developer instead of a 7 vol toning with blonde me? Thank you
Which colour number do you use for platinum ash and which brand?
Does the wella blondor blue one swell and expand? Helpppp
I'm a fan of wella
Why don’t you start with the back? Starting at the crown where it’s the most dense for most, and then moving to the front? That way you can easily rinse the back once it’s lightened, without having to rinse the entire head so the front sections can continue to process? Not to be rude, but banding and the panic of sections over processing while others are brought up to your desired lift could be avoided if you did it that way. I know you’ve mentioned your blonde guru following the method you’ve done in this video, but maybe give ‘SLKBLEACHEXPERT’ a watch. She’s a gem to the industry.
Did you use 20 volume developer?
Haha! Jk I found it!!!! LOVE your videos btw! As a hairstylist that’s been out the game for two years, these are all amazing refreshers! Really really appreciate you
HELLO, Bobbie can you please tell me what city and state you are in? I would like to come and see you for hair color. Thank you so much.
I am in Langley, BC Canada!

@@BobbyHairStudio Oh really? 😄May I ask why? So curious to hear your take
Okay. I'm buying it right now 🤣

Pls try out guy tang 🙇🏼♀️
I love Wella 🎉🎉
Immediately came here from tiktok😎😎
I’m so glad!!! What are your favourite scalp lighteners? Have you ever tried Blondme or blondor?
@@katonazoltan9006 oh I LOVE this! Thank you so much! I want to try the soft blond one now!! I also agree, for foiling work on box dyes Blondme has been unbeatable so far!! I’m going to keep it in my arsenal for sure!!!
@@olafbitter3999 im excited to play around with wella!! I’ve been watching zach for years and i don’t know why i didn’t start this sooner!!!
Wella time for me too!
Must be a ragdoll cat. Only ones I could take everywhere and they'd be perfectly happy. ❤
He was! His name was Rebel (rip)
After using wella and i got brakage I stopped wella . No to wella !
Will you ever use blonde me again ?
Yes! I love Blondme still
It's purple. Was that intentional?
Is just the toner to cancel out any warmer/yellow tones once she wash her hair it would fade out and leave her just with platinum blonde.
Nicely done.
