It's just a ship, don't cry. It's just a ship, don't cry. It's just a ship, don't cry. It's just a ship, don't cry. It's just a ship, don't cry. It's just a ship, don't cry. ... I'm crying...
Its normal to not cry over machines? My car has a defect in its engine that will cause it to completely destroy itself at 200k miles. After all I've been through with the thing thats just sad theres no other way of looking at it.
No, you’re not the only. I never felt sad for a vehicle (or in general a tool) breaking in a video game, the vehicle in that game was the first that I effectively felt sad when it broke.
man, not a single word of dialogue or anything, yet I still somehow found myself thinking of the ship like a friend, and it genuinely broke my heart to see the poor thing banged up like that...
“It’s just a piece of metal, it’s not that sad!” “It’s just a piece of metal, it’s not that sad!” “It’s just a piece of metal, it’s not that sad!” “It’s just a piece of metal, it’s not that sad!” 😢
The most beautiful track in the game imo, I just love 1:02, the screen suddenly becomes colorful, you see all the other landcrawlers from other survivors.
@@samwarren6008not quite, you see, in the lore not everyone left at the start, this graveyard represents people, that had reached the shores and later saved by first pilgrims with our uncle Jan Henrickson who died at the construction site of second oppidumotive
@@erikvannik5208 I meant a graveyard of the landcrawlers. I watched Jack's playthrough and him naming and giving his landcrawler made it a lot more tragic when it broke and collapsed.
This game gets me every time. on the surface its just a game about surviving a post apocalyptic world. but i like to interpret it as someone trying to overcome their depression. the world has 'ended' and their father has passed away (person has fallen into depression after the loss of family) all this person can do is run and maintain the ship (the ship being your body, all you do in depression is eat and sleep, nothing else) new natural disasters destroy this ship and you repair it (relapsing to depression, coming out) eventually this ship breaks in half and the person just waits for help at shore (giving up on finding a cure)
i remember hoarding items i could use as a stair to get to the back part of the ship cuz i wanted to see if the back half of the ship functioned, and no, sadly, i could not repair the back side with the welder, nor could it reach far enough to repair the engine, which i stocked with fuel just before the eruption 😢
I died several times during the eruption. That was annoying. What followed after was… demoralizing, to say the least. This game is just so beautifully done.
This game is so special for me, because i loved it so much and it getted out on my birthday...i didn't knew it until december or so...i was so happy it getted in my birthday :"3 strange coincidence i think.
and when you made it to the end you can't do anything but facing the inevitable despair, like you have no means or strength to move further, thinking that even travelling to the end of the world you couldn't find anyone and this will be your last attempt, you're lighting the beacon and if noone sees you then everything you did was for nothing
also seeing all those broken machines on the shore you finally find out that not only you travelled the same path, shared the same dream of finding hope in the world's end, and perhaps you too will share the same fate of losing last hope with them

Today my loved cat died. And just a week before it I get this game. All day long this song is playinng in my head, this is perfect music for loss.
I like how the beginning sounds like an engine trying to start up

You see a graveyard...

You definitely need to play the second part to understand the story further. I'll suggest to not give up ; ).

Replay it dude. It gives you memories..
I haven't cried so hard over a ship since HMS Thunderchild sank.
So sad, But so good.
My first thought why the dislikes?
it's like beating sensation still remaining in living being who hasn't given up yet
