I think the lyric, "I knew you, leaving like a father, running like water" is one of her most clever lines, ever! And my husband and I got tattoos of each other's lips based on the line, "and I knew you'd linger like a tattoo kiss 💋 " Cardigan is definitely in my top 10 TS songs. Great reaction, I love that you pay close attention to the music and the lyrics. Keep em coming!
Can’t believe you haven’t done Exile from The Long Pond Studios video yet. It’s probably the best duet I’ve personally ever heard. Chills every time I hear it, which is a LOT. Love watching your reactions ♥️
What you just witnessed is her IMAGINATION This is what she had in her head while writing this song The way she potrays it is just on another level “you drew stars around my scars but now I am bleeding" It goes straight through your heart
Just got a correction from a fan- Bon Iver does NOT appear on this song- I misread this line on Wikipedia: "Three of its tracks, "Cardigan", "The 1", and "Exile" featuring Bon Iver, reached the top 10 on music charts in eight countries." I took it to mean that they appeared on those three songs.😂
"i knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs" has been my favorite lyric of hers since this song came out! the music video has a lot of significance as well but i'll leave the explanation to someone smarter haha. thank you so much for the donations, i'll make sure to watch all of your taylor vids to help :)
Great reaction! This song is part of a trilogy with Betty and August being the other 2 songs about a fictional teenage love triangle. Which is also a departure from TS usually writing about her own life.
Justin Vernon 's band is Bon Iver (taken from French Bon Hiver -- good winter. Apparently a joke? He is from Eaux Claire, Wisconsin, so it gets cold !) He and Aaron Dessner (guitarist from The National) have another project called Big Red Machine, which has won some acclaim; Taylor featured on a couple songs on their last album. see their song Renegade: music mostly by Aaron and Justin, lyrics by Swift, vocals by Swift and Vernon. . . . you'd like it, and it fits this same sort of sound.
I love when you watch and review Taylor. You listen so deeply and really feel the music. It’s awesome to see. It actually helps reveal even more of the song to me, and I’m a huge swiftie! I also think it’s fantastic you’re donating to your local food bank during December kind’ve inspired by Taylor. Very, very cool of you. ❤
The folklore album is an album I can just listen to over and over and over again. It's her best album she ever made. You should review the song Peace. It'll get your emotions by the heart. I relate to that song on a personal level.
The video is so beautiful. Just showing the places music has taken her... to a beautiful forest or submerged into a storm in the middle of the ocean. Seeing her cling to the piano while the storm rages on gives me chills.
Ok, most importantly -- Jasmine is so beautiful! I'm glad she made an appearance. Mine shy away from the camera like it's sucking out their souls or something. Loved this reaction - I think you really will love the whole album, as well as Evermore (sister album). I hold both albums close to my heart but Evermore is my favorite, I think. "I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs" is such a beautifully sad line. This song is filled with such lovely lyrics, and the video is visually stunning.
The music video for “willow” picks up exactly where this left off, and it’s even cooler imo. The visuals? Amazing. I love your reactions. Always so thoughtful. You know so much more about instruments and music than I do. I only know about singing.
@@phishfan It’s such a great music video, in my opinion. Really has a magical vibe. Lovely lyrics, too. If you want real lyrical artistry, though, check out “ivy”-that one is pure poetry.
I think the bridges in this song do such a beautiful job with the pacing of reflecting the desperate feeling of feeling like one other person is all you know. The writing on this one is incredible! This whole album is incredible but I think cardigan is one of her best written songs in general One thing that's interesting about this song is that the percussive clicking sounds at the very beginning are actually recordings of high heels walking on stone (to reflect the line in the first verse "high heels on cobblestone"). Taylor and Jack Antonoff like to play around with those kinds of sounds in music a lot, it must be a lot of fun.
Love this song so much ❤ my favorite line is “you drew stars around my scars, but now I’m bleeding” for the eras tour I wore a folklore inspired dress and took the lyric literally, drawing little stars around the scars on my arms. Taylor has been so influential in helping me out of that mental state and I love showing any support I can towards her 🫶
Yes, all three song go together. It’s the “love triangle”. Cardigan (Betty’s POV), Betty (James’ POV) and August (Augustine/Augusta’s POV) Please react to all of them please!
What a great entrance into Folklore, and what a wonderful way to support good causes. Really enjoy your channel, have liked, subscribed, and will continue to listen. Thanks!
I really recommend listening to evermore during the next few months. It's folklore's sister album, and it has a "winter" vibe. Many people think that folklore is a better album but evermore has better standalone tracks. ivy is a fan favorite. The title track has a lovely turn at the end.
I have seen the first couple of the Long Pond Sessions videos. It was Folklore and Evermore that got me listening to her music. The one that you mentioned you loved Cats! I think most of the 2 albums have that timeless quality to it. It reminds me of Jewel and her earlier folk albums. In terms of the evocative nature of lyrics, range, and the acoustic guitar. That would be a cool artist to cover. Buckley- didn't he originally write Hallelujah? I think the charity stuff you are doing is fantastic, and I like the way you focus in on the poetic techniques with the lyrics, (you also mentioned that you were a poet in one of the other videos), as well as the production. As far as the music goes- I do love these 2 albums and a couple of songs from her younger days. Some times, I go back and forth regarding some of her public issues and grudges, that come up again and again, but, I am able to separate the art from the artist. I like your content and the inspiration she's given you with the charitable work and donating to the food bank yourself. So you just got yourself at least one more subscriber to your goal and I really look forward to your future videos too. Thank you for your reactions and the kindness you seem to exude 😊
Love your reactions! I recommend you react next to the Reputation Tour: Intro +ready for it + I did something bad. Us swifties love to watch reactions to that so it might also help the views 😊
This is the first album that Aaron Dessner (The National) co-wrote and produced over half the songs and he brings something really special out in her. Her and Jack Antonoff are gold together but she calls Aaron her musical soulmate and they do create magic together. Fun fact: Aaron’s twin brother, Bryce, did all the instrumentals for this album.
You should dive in to Lana Del Rey’s music. I think you will love her. She is Taylor’s favourite songwriter, Taylor has shown her fondness for Lana many times
If you like this you need to listen to The National if you haven’t already. Aaron Dessner, who co-wrote this song (as well as many songs on Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights) is a key member of The National. I actually went from a Taylor hater for years to a full blown Swiftie after finally giving her a chance when this album came out because of Aaron Dessner’s collaboration with her. The more I’ve listened to her and learned about her, the more I’ve grown to love and appreciate her work. I think her lyricism and the way she can just pull on your emotions with the combination of said lyrics and music is really what draws me in. There are so many layers to the Taylor onion and she’s carefully chosen really great musicians to work with for the last few years but especially the last 3-4 albums... But yeah, please give The National a listen. She’s collabed with the band on Evermore, as well as The National’s album, First Two Pages of Frankenstein.
PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE TO SUPPORT THE FOOD BANK!!

Thanks for sharing!!
And linger like a tattoo kiss 💋
The music video for Willow (song from Evermore album)is the direct sequel to Cardigan MV it picks up from right where it left.
woaaahhh that was so nice of you to donate 🥰🥰 you don't see that much ppl doing that
Can’t believe you haven’t done Exile from The Long Pond Studios video yet. It’s probably the best duet I’ve personally ever heard. Chills every time I hear it, which is a LOT. Love watching your reactions ♥️
I'll check it out!! A few people have mentioned Exile so I will probably watch it next. Thanks for the kind words!!

Understandable. I can see how that sentance could be taken that way.
"i knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs" has been my favorite lyric of hers since this song came out! the music video has a lot of significance as well but i'll leave the explanation to someone smarter haha. thank you so much for the donations, i'll make sure to watch all of your taylor vids to help :)
That's a favorite line of mine, too!
Great reaction! This song is part of a trilogy with Betty and August being the other 2 songs about a fictional teenage love triangle. Which is also a departure from TS usually writing about her own life.
She literally incorporated her own production company: Taylor Swift Productions, so she can direct her own movies and MV

Bon iver is only on Exile on this album.
Yes, i misunderstood something written on Wikipedia.
The folklore album is an album I can just listen to over and over and over again. It's her best album she ever made. You should review the song Peace. It'll get your emotions by the heart. I relate to that song on a personal level.
I agree. Peace and Evermore are my favorites. They both mean so much to me.
This song still makes me cry!
The video is so beautiful. Just showing the places music has taken her... to a beautiful forest or submerged into a storm in the middle of the ocean. Seeing her cling to the piano while the storm rages on gives me chills.
Very artistic- I enjoyed it a lot!

A song request - You’re Losing Me.
Love that you are donating ❤❤
FANTASTIC REACTION!!! Loved your insight...oh and thanks for recommending Gothic Jewelry...placing an order today...
Thanks for your comment and i hope you like the jewelry!!
“Chasing shadows in the grocery line” seeing tabloid stories about her ex/love so singular
“False God”. Taylor’s SNL performance. Something completely different
I really recommend listening to evermore during the next few months. It's folklore's sister album, and it has a "winter" vibe. Many people think that folklore is a better album but evermore has better standalone tracks. ivy is a fan favorite. The title track has a lovely turn at the end.
Such great reactions. So genuine. 😢And what you’re doing for your local food bank is amazing. Can’t wait for more! ❤
Thank you for the kind words!!
I love your reactions. You seem so thoughtful. This is one of my favorites.

What about Tim Buckley? Song to the Siren is so atmospheric.
Love your reactions! I recommend you react next to the Reputation Tour: Intro +ready for it + I did something bad. Us swifties love to watch reactions to that so it might also help the views 😊
As a singer/songwriter/poet, you should check out Taylor Swift All Too Well: The Short Film
I think you'll love Willow
Bon Iver was only featured in one song in this album, and it is exile
I read the bio on Wikipedia incorrectly- it made it sound like they were on three songs.
well now you gotta do Willow :) please
Jasmine is gorgeous.🤩🤩
Have 2 elderly Rescue Russian Blue boys myself.
😋😋😋👀Food Bank Support 👀😋😋😋😋
Thanks for the comment!!
Well past December but I've liked and subscribed anyway
Hi and thank you!!!
Esperando la nueva reacción de TS recomienddo
You should dive in to Lana Del Rey’s music. I think you will love her. She is Taylor’s favourite songwriter, Taylor has shown her fondness for Lana many times
Oh my god, this song is so like Jeff Buckley. I never made that connection before but you’re so right. I miss him, gone way too soon.
He was a genius,
Please please please react to Exile from Taylor Swift and Bon Iver, it's amazing!

Now react to Willow, is the sequel to this music video
A few people have requested it, so it's next!!
