      Zbrush is really easy to use. It is like sculpting with clay except for no cleanup.

    Should add some background music. It felt alot like the video was missing something, the sculpt was great and all, but if you make a video you really need some music in the background to make it stand out. Not sure exactly why, but a video with music is usually far better than a video without. =)

      Avana yes definitely! I just erase the music because of the rights, but i think i will cancel the monetize to put cool music in the next videos!

      @teasippingzombie 7 лет назад +32

      Cherylynn Lima you should learn the mechanics of Zbrush. Zbrush is medium to difficult tool and isnt like paint tool sai (to me). watching tutorials on how zbrush works you could make this and any other model. maybe not as good immediately but a tutorial on a random model would cripple ya.

    • @KatoGod

      granted it is a very long process (each part is ~3 hours)

    • @daniel4647
      @daniel4647 6 лет назад +7

      Personally I think learning the tools is easy enough, takes some time but it's not hard. The hard part is drawing, which you need not only to make the concept art, but because the skills required for drawing are surprisingly (to me at least) very useful in 3D modeling, almost required. And the only way to get good at drawing is by doing it over and over and over and over and over... Zbrush is just a more advanced version of a regular brush, if you can't draw it with a regular brush chances are you can't with Zbrush either. But if you can draw it with a regular brush, then learning Zbrush will let you do it better, faster and in 3D. Not a perfect analogy, but it helps to think of it like that, the worlds best pen does not make the worlds best writer.

    I love watching the retopologizing section in Maya, I find it therapeutic to think about the human form in these patterns and perfect edgeflows, seeing where the most dense areas are and how each piece flows into another. That part is pretty difficult and so essential for the animator down the line!

    • @GiuliaMarchetti3d
      @GiuliaMarchetti3d  7 лет назад +40

      pixelion8 you have to make a retopology to continue with a clean mesh, a low poly mesh, zbrush make a lot of polygons first so it dosen't work for render.

    First of all: amazing work, I really love the outcome. I can only hope to get even close to that skill level sometime.
    I heard that hair modeling in Zbrush is a bit harder than in Blender because Blender has Curves. But the trick with the masking to create the base for the hair & clothing made my eyes fall out. Haven't seen a method that fast yet cuz so many tutorials utilize a form of retopology for clothing. How'd you come across that technique?

    • @GiuliaMarchetti3d
      @GiuliaMarchetti3d  4 года назад +1

      yes that's is why I didn't change to blender, this way to make clothes is too easy and quick, I hope blender could have this in future. There is a lot of tutorials if you search zbrush clothing in RUclips to see this

    What i would like to know is how practical this model is. Sure it used up much time but can you animate it easily now? Since the Hair are so complex it would be pretty hard to do isnt it?

      Some models are not meant for animation! Some models are purely art form.
      Check out Artstation.com for great works like these.
      (think of someone pointing to a traditional piece and saying they want it animated when someone who made it, made it purely out of beauty and not function) If couldn't be animated and if it did it would probably be destroyed somewhere in detail. We'd have to consider the polygons, baking, what lag would it bring.
      I'm still new to it all but I've never seen a zbrush model animated.
      Hair can be made in different mediums, but because this model is chunks i'd imagine you could rig those!
