This may seem sad, but this could also be great. He's moving and taking this wonderful collection with him to spread the Halloween spirit in a new location, and hopefully his neighbors will be inspired to put up a few more decorations themselves to make up for his departure. Who knows? Maybe in a few years there will be an even larger assortment of decorations scattered all across the neighborhood! Won't that be grand?

The lunatic had written out a manifesto, explaining this, and I was among the names on his list of next victims. He wrote in sickening details how he wanted to kidnap and torture me. I wasn't supposed to ever see the copy of his manifesto, but after our story was portrayed on "Unsolved Mysteries", the producer sent the photos and other info the police shared with them back to ME, instead of the police department. The cops had never planned on letting me know that madman's diary even existed! I think the producer at "UM" sent it to me on purpose because he rightly believed this is information I should have. I'm grateful to that producer. The police told me that all I could do is move and change my identity, so I did... 23 years ago I moved 1500 miles away from the only place I'd ever lived, and legally changed my name to something very ubiquitous, a name shared by hundreds of thousands of women in the USA. I'm very glad I left Texas, and no one there misses me anyway. Everyone in my family I loved is dead now.

In Richmond, Va., on Hilliard Road, probably now 15 years ago, one house, a 1 1/2 story Cape Cod, had an owner that for Halloween would put a giant spider, complete with web lines, on his roof. Then he'd take that down and put up Santa and a sleigh for Christmas. I think just before they moved/sold the house/whatever, they did this the last year: They didn't take down the spider, but showed Santa and sleigh caught in the spider's web. Wife & I still regret not taking a pic of that.

It has twice yearly bulk disposal days, two trailers set up to collect cardboard, old books and magazines, and ensures contractors don’t start making noise until 8 am. There are some annoyances like speed bumps to keep traffic speed down but all in all more positives than negatives.

Actually miss seeing alot of people get into traditions for Halloween & Christmas. Used to love taking hay rides w/other kids & a volunteer driver. Going through neighborhoods & looking at massively decorated houses. Lots of kids today dont know what they are missing.
As a kid I used to know an older couple in my grandma's neighborhood that used to do similar setups during Christmas. It was trully a spectacle to behold every winter. They'd have tons of decorations, lights and holiday mannequins on the roof and in the yard. They also opened up the entire garage and converted it into a moving animatronic dollhouse that represented Santa's workshop. They would do this every year and would attract tons of admirers around that entire neighborhood and other neighborhoods miles away. My family and I made it a tradition to walk over there a couple days before Christmas to go see the couple and the decorations. I don't remember exactly when but at some point they decided to stop doing it probably because they were getting too old which was understandable. They also were selling the decorations as part of a local auction so they wouldn't go to waste. On the last year of the setup they left a notebook outside their door thanking everybody for all the years of kindness and encouraged everyone to sign it with a nice farewell message. I'm sure that lovely couple is long gone now considering how long ago this was, but I hope their family kept that book and continues to appreciate the love from all those signatures including the one I left when I was younger.

I wake up at 5AM for work, every morning I drive to work I see two inflatable skeletal dinosaurs with trick-or-treat buckets…..makes my morning each and every single day, I’ve even considered putting a thank-you letter up in their mailbox and also asking them to keep them up for even longer now that it’s November….makes me happy to see, and I know it’s going to be a good day :)

there was a house like this where i lived outside NYC in New Rochelle. on a heavily wooded hill the police had to stop traffic because of all the people who would go. It made the great start to a date.
At least nowadays we have led lights that use a lot less electricity, but those animatronics and inflatables still require lots of power! Love that poker-playing skeleton with it's drink and cigar in hand the best, but all these spooks are too much fun! Worth the expense. I live off-grid in the wilderness, with all electricity coming from solar and wind power. Last year, I put up solar Christmas lights on my house that create their own power. WooHoo!
We used to live in Baltimore, MD aka ‘Bodymore, Murderland’ and we’d put on a huge display of animatronics, live shows, prizes and food, drinks all for free. We had lines of people waiting to go through. Unfortunately, we moved to PA about 6 years ago and now we don’t have a single trick or treater( so, we sold everything afterwards). I've lived here 18 years, and it hasn't happened yet.😏 Maybe it's my handmade windchimes on my porch I created out of goat and deer bones? The leg and rib bones look a lot like human bones. Also, I'm a hideous old crone with frizzy white hair who resembles Baba Yaga, and the friendly ravens I've been feeding for years often follow my car all the way to town when I shop for groceries. I buy the ravens unsalted peanuts in the shell, and hot dogs, which they love. A few years ago, I walked to my car with groceries as I left the grocery store, and was startled by "Igor" the friendliest and biggest of my friendly ravens. He cawed, I looked up and saw he was perched on the roof rack of my SUV. Of course I told him that I did, indeed, buy his favorite foods and pulled them out of the bag to show him his goodies. He was delighted, and started hopping up and down, doing his happy dance as I loaded groceries into my car. Then I noticed the older latino lady sitting in the car parked next to us. She looked terrified and was praying and crossing herself and holding her rosary, while nervously glancing over at me talking to this large, magnificent black raven as if he's my bff. Oops! I wish people didn't have such negative attitudes towards ravens and other corvids. They are amazing birds, very smart and sociable. I love them, and their clever ways.
I do Christmas like Halloween I've done my Christmas tree with with a dead tree with chicken wing bones like fingers hanging from the branches with red & black Christmas lights and a skull on top! Extra points because I will never have to host my family or my in-laws again! I did a tree with full mini liquor bottles and a Jack Daniels bottle on top of the tree drilled a hole in the bottom of the bottle epoxyed a tube in and refilled the bottle with Jack Daniels!
The reason this novice decorator is quitting is because of my my display. I hit home Depot every year, get the most up to date animatronic. This year my featured prop is a towering 17 foot tall grim reaper, it breathes fire, has a mist function coming out of its rear. It compliments the 14 and a half foot tall pumpkin pimp, it's towering red hat shoots cherry red , boom boom flash knights, that spiral into fourteen different colorful shades. Last year after the neighbors, who aren't fortunate enough to share the ❤got into a pistol fight, the cops came and chased my neighbor's gun wielding girlfriend crashing into my last set up, an exacting replication of the aliens vs predator set from those fantastic movies. There was a small fire,but luckily my neighbor's girlfriend wasn't permanently injured. And she'll be in county lock up for about six more months 😂❤🎃👍

Halloween has changed, it is not about pagan beliefs anymore. To think people who celebrate it are evil or welcoming evil is very close minded. Kids and adults love being spooked, and dressing up is fun for everyone. If you take that stance then I surely hope you dont celebrate thanksgiving, valentines etc.

They have wonderful spooky decorations and parties for Dia de los Muertos, their version of Halloween, and the traditional foods for "Day of the Dead" are delicious! It's a big party to honor one's ancestors and beloved family and friends who have died. Halloween is the day before All Saints Day, a holy day for Catholics. Personally, I find the gruesome representation of Jesus's tortured dead body nailed to a cross to be offensive and disturbing, and I'm a Christian. I don't understand why so many Christians love that image of their Lord and Savior's suffering. The first thing I see when I wake in the morning is an ornate, beautiful, antique wood carving that hung in an Anglican church back in the 1800s. It's the Lord's Prayer, and it's gorgeous. I start every day reading that prayer to "Our Father, who art in Heaven..." I guess I prefer to focus on how Christ lived more than the cruel way he was murdered.

The reason this novice decorator is quitting is because of my my display. I hit home Depot every year, get the most up to date animatronic. This year my featured prop is a towering 17 foot tall grim reaper, it breathes fire, has a mist function coming out of its rear. It compliments the 14 and a half foot tall pumpkin pimp, it's towering red hat shoots cherry red , boom boom flash knights, that spiral into fourteen different colorful shades. Last year after the neighbors, who aren't fortunate enough to share the ❤got into a pistol fight, the cops came and chased my neighbor's gun wielding girlfriend crashing into my last set up, an exacting replication of the aliens vs predator set from those fantastic movies. There was a small fire,but luckily my neighbor's girlfriend wasn't permanently injured. And she'll be in county lock up for about six more months 😂❤🎃👍

INSTEAD OF INVESTING TIME IN THINGS OF DARKNESS, HE CAN INVEST HIS TIME IN THINGS OF LIGHT, LIKE MAKING A BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY ORNAMENTS WITH BABY JESUS AND ANGELS FOR CHRISTMAS, RIGHT!!!
Halloween has changed, it is not about pagan beliefs anymore. To think people who celebrate it are evil or welcoming evil is very close minded. Kids and adults love being spooked, and dressing up is fun for everyone. If you take that stance then I surely hope you dont celebrate thanksgiving, valentines etc.
@@cadavher I live in a predominantly Latino town, where many hispanic residents are Catholic. They have wonderful spooky decorations and parties for Dia de los Muertos, their version of Halloween, and the traditional foods for "Day of the Dead" are delicious!
It's a big party to honor one's ancestors and beloved family and friends who have died. Halloween is the day before All Saints Day, a holy day for Catholics.
Personally, I find the gruesome representation of Jesus's tortured dead body nailed to a cross to be offensive and disturbing, and I'm a Christian. I don't understand why so many Christians love that image of their Lord and Savior's suffering.
The first thing I see when I wake in the morning is an ornate, beautiful, antique wood carving that hung in an Anglican church back in the 1800s. It's the Lord's Prayer, and it's gorgeous. I start every day reading that prayer to "Our Father, who art in Heaven..."
I guess I prefer to focus on how Christ lived more than the cruel way he was murdered.

As a Haunter, its a good one, it's nothing crazy, just a simple display and that works, it could be the only one in their neighborhood and that's why people love it.
