Can't believe nobody has mentioned Brown Eyed Girls Abracadabra. Also Chung Ha (and R3HAB) Dream of You has the merit of putting the message in English (performance video only but it's better than most MVs).
That one was pure fun! I struggled a bit at first to really grasp the message. Butt, then 'round and round, carefully, shake it shake it' brought me back. 🤔As a fellow man of culture I really appreciated the color theory as well. Wiggle Wiggle really includes ALL colors of life!
Hi Coach, so cool that you checked out Hello Venus, which used to be one of my favourite Kpop GGs. To give you some context, it was indeed a signature feature for 2nd generation Kpop GGs (early 2010s) to have a sexy vibe and seductive, sometimes even provocative choreos, with examples including AOA, Girl's Days, Sistar, Apink, EXID etc. Among these 2nd gen groups, however, 2NE1 was an exception. It was often considered the pioneer of the so-called "Girl Crush" concept, which would then go on to dominate the 3rd generation Kpop GG scene starting from around 2015/16, such as, as we are now all too familiar, Blackpink. Now they work together, the video with the performers and the song, creating a great combo. Hellovenus is one of my favourites for sure. They have very many great tunes and some nice videos. You have to to check out AOA Miniskirt. It's the best sexy concept song/video combination, just absolutely perfect. AOA is even better than Hellovenus otherwise too. Even more great tunes, great videos and visuals. The best overall K-pop performer with songs / visuals / dancing / vocals for me is BoA though. Check out Better and Camo from her at the very least.
