The caller told him that a banned item had been shipped from Taiwan using his Aadhaar card as an identity proof and that the police had filed a case against him

New scam involving delivery boy impersonation and call forwarding code 401 surfaces, A recently exposed scam has been circulating on X, formerly Twitter, targeting unsuspecting individuals through phone calls. The scam involves a fraudulent attempt to deceive recipients by claiming that a delivery is pending due to an address issue, ultimately leading to an alarming request to dial 401 before contacting the supposed delivery personnel. A woman recently shared her experience with this scam in a viral video on X, cautioning others to stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to this fraudulent scheme.
    3, Mohali: A local resident has lost Rs 80,000 in a cyber fraud after she was asked to transfer Rs 5 for receiving a courier parcel. Shifali Chaudhary received a phone call and the caller confirmed her delivery address for a courier and asked her to pay Rs 5 as handling charges, sending her a link for the payment. The woman alleged Rs 40,000 each were deducted from her bank account in two transactions.

The scammers gained access to her account and made four unauthorized transactions, debiting the money.
    4, Recently, several cases of fake delivery executives collecting OTPs from customers have been reported. Frauds and scammers tend to keep a check on customers who receive delivery packages very often and disguise themselves as delivery agents at the doorsteps of the customers to ask for the OTP. Furthermore, they ask for the order amount stating that it is a cash on delivery. In case the customers refuse to receive the delivery package, they pretend as if they are cancelling the delivery. To finalise the cancellation of the order, scammers trick the customers and ask for OTP. Ultimately, after receiving the OTP they hack the cell phones of the customers and steal the money.
