I love this one. It is textural. Reminds me of chenilling which is its own lovely slow stich art. And for years when I was sewing more actively, I had a habit of buying a yard of fabric and always making bias strips out of it. So I have LOADS of already made strips just sitting in a box somewhere. Better get to finding it!
I was thinking today that once you have finished all 52 ,these might be useful for dementia patients , the same as'twiddle muffs'. Fingering all the fabrics and buttons etc would be calming. Just a thought. Love your vidoes- I've started slow stitching during lockdown.
Oh ,I’m gathering my scraps together and I will start sewing this evening. Over the years I’ve saved my scrape in big glass jars.I have them display on a shelf in my sewing room they are beautiful.they look like apiece of art .have a couple of jugs of old broken jewelry for accent.i thinking that I’ll add a place for all my slow stitching.Loving the way mine is turning out. I’ve seen som beautiful ones so far . Thanks Ann stitch -on
That's an interesting technique; I don't think I've seen it done in fabric before. Fun! Looking forward to learning new stitches, thanks for sharing; take care!
I have poked my fingers so many times! I love this! I'm getting back in the groove. It's been such a long time since I've done any fancy stitches. I need to find my embroidery books. TYF doing these videos. It's a nice break for me on my porch swing. Willa in Kansas
When I started sewing I thought I don't like this but when I attached it to the tag I was won over. This was fun and I LOVED making tag #3. Such a clever idea. It was fun to sit and stitch. Very relaxing. Thank you for another fun tag.
This reminds of a time years ago when I was learning to quilt, but couldn’t afford fabric. I would go through the trash at quilting gatherings and use all those little scraps. One lady who always bought wonderful fabrics handed me a bag of scraps. I started to get excited, then saw it was selvedges and 1/2” strips. She did add some nice pieces that were in the bottom, but we all got a laugh and I got the last laugh. I went homes, found a vest pattern and cut out some muslin, then raw edged zigzag the strips changing directions every few inches. Used black thread, lined it in black and used black for the back. She screamed when I wore it the next week and she realized what it was. Still have the vest and always got compliments when I wore it.
You haven't done me any favours. I was planning a craft room clear out. Not going to happen now! This is a wonderful project. I am a pack rat, and have scraps of vintage, even antique fabrics and habby. Binge watching this w/end! So inspirational.
I found you after seeing you on Hochanda, I am also left handed so it will be easier for me to learn from you. I starting my tags in March and will do a few a week. My only hand sewing had been cross stitch a few years ago and hems. I had wanted to learn to embroider so your 52 tags are perfect for me to stretch both my sewing confidence and imagination. Off to find scraps for tag 3. Many thanks.
Hello Anne. I just wanted to say that i love how you teach and your clear information for how to sew. I am new to sewing anything! So, i am doing this challenge with you each week. I have made all 3 and am looking forward to every Friday for the next step. Thank you so very much for doing this, i am being challenged in a lot of ways by doing these tags and i am very grateful to you. I am a new subbie. Have a most wonderful and blessed day ❤️🌹
I am really enjoying this finished my day at key worker provision where I am calling parents and offering pastoral support and it’s lovely to come home and relax watching your film and then knowing each evening I can come in relax and stitch my own therapy Thank you so much!!
Although I was once quite interested in needlework (embroidery, quilting, cross stitch) I found that while doing the first tag my patience was limited and my hands wouldn't cooperate. The second tag was a disaster. I really the liked the tag challenge so I changed it up; I am making them with paper which I have plenty of since I am a scrapbooker, card maker and collagist. I am sticking to the formula but am much happier with the results of tag 3. Thank you for your inspiration.
Another small, fun project, Thanks! I'm thinking by the time we finish 52 tags, some of us may need another large ring for our tags. Well that's OK with me.
Couldn’t wait to see what you were doing next. Love this one. It will take me longer to do. I am using bigger tags for mine. This is so much fun. Thanks, Anne for coming up with this challenge and keeping us busy creating. Blessings. ❤️😊😘🤗
Oooh, thank you Anne for a lovely challenge, I was so excited waiting for the next one to come. Not disappointed either. Off to find me scraps now. Xxx👏👏
I am absolutely loving this just cannot wait for each one, although as I said I am not a sewer, so hope you don’t mind me tagging along (sorry for pun) and my three tags are nothing like I would normally make xx ty you have got me out of a bit of the dumps xx I have done cheese cloth n lace n some jeans material but last one was strips of my scraps of paper, as I could not do that and I haven’t much in the way of material
I love this tag. What a wonderful way to use up those thin pieces of fabric we hate to throw away. I got my date stamp out and it ended in 2020. An excuse to shop lol. Hugs ❤️
I was so glad to see your tag....I have decided to call mine day by day....I will also combine paper into my tags...thanks for the inspiration.....stay safe
Hi Anne, I just discovered your art and your channel, and I seem to have not enough words to express my delight! Thank you for all the beauty you create, and for sharing it with us, too! And this tag project is just what I needed for ages to get me started to create things again! I've a question about this tag: do we iron the strips with the right sides INTO the fold or outwards?
I love your tags. But I can’t find them on Facebook very easily- and I really don’t know how to post anything to Instagram! Wish there was a group to join so I could find all of them!
Loving this challenge Anne ( even if i have only gotten as far as making the first 16 tags... a la Rachel @ Roxycreations )... hoping to start stitching tomorrow xo 😍👍🏻
So much fun!! I just have a few questions if you don’t mind. What is the best thread to use with these tags? And, at the end of the tag do you just go back to the top to sew down or the bottom too? Do you sew down every piece of fabric again or just the top and bottom? Thank you. Sue
I’m very late to the party but so enjoy videos 1-3 of this challenge and hope to get started soon ! Tags on order from Amazon ... just need to raid my mums linen cupboard 😂
Hi I'm a new subby and purple poppy mentioned you in her video, I like your technique I don't sew much only what my mother taught me, like buttons a hem. I do like your simple steps and I will give it a go! I'm even going to show my daughter and maybe she will catch on! thank you for your videos and look forward to watching them. Where did you get those scissors?
I don't know where to post a picture of my finished tag. Can someone direct me to that site? Thanks very much, Anne, for this week's challenge I enjoyed doing it.
Anne, hope I’m not being a nuisance but I’m going insane trying to find the linen buttons on eBay? Could you give me a clue on what to put in the Search bar please? Just loving the tags!! 😊❤️🇦🇺xxx
I am enjoying this challenge, it is my first challenge. I am a paper crafter, therefore I am using paper instead of fabric. I am not handy at all with a needle. Thank you. Your work is beautiful and inspiring.

I’m planning to use a 5”x5” piece of fabric as my base instead of a cardboard tag. Hopefully it will be easier on the hands.
@@cindyadams376 ....what a great idea!!!👍😉
I am loving this challenge. Just binged the first 4to catch up. Hooked now. Congratulations on the topic.
This is beautiful! I can see me adding lace and a variety of different fabrics to create lots of texture! Thanks for the inspiration and sharing!
love this tag challenge, it takes me longer to sort out my fabric, and audition fabrics than to stitch the tag. Thanks for all the inspiration Annex
Love this idea❤️ can’t wait to do this one. I love to quilt and my scrappy quilts are my favorites.❌from Florida USA. Thanks.

I love the three-dimensional aspect of this one! It's like a pop-up book only it's fabric.
I really have enjoyed watching your videos. Very nice! I am doing the challenge, but haven't the nerve to share.

Love watching you slow stitch. I look forward to your post every week. Could you tell me what brand mini craft iron you are using? Thank you.
Ansio travel iron xx
So much fun!! I just have a few questions if you don’t mind.
What is the best thread to use with these tags?
And, at the end of the tag do you just go back to the top to sew down or the bottom too? Do you sew down every piece of fabric again or just the top and bottom?
Thank you. Sue

Hi Anne! Is the most beautiful tag i have seen!!!
Hello Anne, Do you fold the right side to the inside or the outside please?
Loving this adventure. Thanks so much. 🧵🧵
I do both xx
Lovely and scruffy, I'm off to do mine now. Take care Anne.

You can put it on your Instagram and in the comments put #52tagshannemade so others can see it
Talk about late arrivals… but super excited to get started! Got some tags today and will start asap!! What kind of glue stick are you using?
Glue stick, quick and simple xx
I love the idea of this tag, my only issue is the ironing bit- I don't iron 🤣
Try a flat iron, like for hair
Try finger ironing - just pinching & pressing with your finger tips! Works on most lightweight cottons
@@rosemaryburd1327 thank you, I'll give it a try.
Thanks Anne. This looks like a fun one.
