We catch 5lb Spotted Bass regularly here on the Lower Coosa on that lure; been using for about 10yrs now. I got my PB Striper on it; a 16lb 12oz beast- on light spinning gear! I have the perfect homemade heads for it. Custom eyes and life-like paint schemes, wire bait keeper, single strand 70lb fluoro weedguard, all at the perfect weight. It truly catches everything that swims!
Thanks Richard for takin us with you. I hope you know how much your videos mean to folks. Really look forward to your videos. Appreciate you taking the time to show the equipment you use and the tips you give on rigging jigs. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day my friend.
Richard, you are reminiscent to Bill Dance, without all the commercials. I enjoyed watching him when I was coming up. Now I get to enjoy your content, please don’t change a thing. This channel is solid gold. Keep er goin!
Brag: About two weeks ago I purchased that bait and rigged your 40lb mono weed gard on the same size head, plus I dipped the tail in that same sauce; RGTM style. It’s been real good at night fishing around the lights.
Yes, it is a great set up for the saltwater flats, back marshes- sight casting reds and specs. When they are super spooky, that small & light presentation is the ticket. Thanks for the great methods & tips! I like the floss base for the S glue to bond to with the fluke - that using your noggen!
Sending a lot of love your way Richard. Thanks so much for all of your great content. My kids and I absolutely love your channel. Give Mama Sue our love as well. Keep on keepin on brother!
Good morning Richie. Thank you so much. I’m surprised it gets that cold in Tennessee. We haven’t hit the 20 degree mark up here in New Yuk. I’m just waiting for April now. You are so helpful brother. God bless you.
I've got to say Congratulations on 298K Subscribers! You'll be at 300k in a few weeks and 500k by summer I bet! It's been fun to watch this channel grow!
You have no idea how many fish I’ve caught from the knowledge of your videos. When im not able to fish, you bring the experience to me as if I was on the boat with you. Thank you for everything you do!
Still anticipating my coming down to the tenn River. Hope my day..days...are half as good as yours. Working on putting some of your rigs together as well as the weedless kind. Thanks Richard for another awesome tutorial on the greatest sport on earth. Keep Slangin and Keep Hangin partner. God bless you and yours as always.
I used a nearly identical rig all summer except i had a pen rod. Iike to poke the hole with something dull like a toothpick (helps make a straight hole)
@@mikewest712 Yea one guy was hating on my video because we kept it but little does he know we have a taxidermist in the family and if we want to still eat the fish we can take the filets right to the pan after it is skinned out for the mount. No waste!
Just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for your advice and tips. You have an awesome video. So thank you from my family to yours. Going to hopefully go fishing 🎣 this weekend Lord willing the weather holds out. 😊
Going to bass pro tomorrow for me it’s like a kid trying to sleep for Christmas morning I’m going to get this exact set up and see how I do, thanks for the tips good luck to me 🎉
I have been using this setup with the albino shad color with a bit of spike it. Spots larges cats and crappie. I even use it with the jig heads with weed gard. Works every time
@13:00, the catfish, that's a flathead, aka "mudcat" and it was NOT a channel and they (flatheads) don't taste that great if there in water that gets muddy. Even clear water ones don't taste good. Blues and Channels can get quite big before they start tasting bad and having that rubbery texture.
ACC Jig Heads utilize a wire barb to hold the soft plastics instead of the lead collar. VMC also uses it on their “Mooneye” heads, but not sure how small you can get em. This will save you the flossing work.
My brother makes our heads. You're right; the single wire keeper is the deal. Lead barbs split the bait too easily. He also puts in a single strand of 70lb fluoro for a weedguard, a #1 black nickel hook (that isn't too long for the bait), and then he airbrushes them different, ultra-realistic colors. The lead is ³/¹⁶oz but the total package comes in at ¼oz, making it PERFECTLY balanced. It's truly a killer!
I use this exact style of fluke (not a super fluke) but I also use "Fin-S" flukes by Lunker City (Identical). I use it on a Carolina rig so that it suspends easier. They destroy small mouth bass on rivers.
Great fishing and an interesting video. I wish we had any kind of fishing like that over here in England. 72 years old, still active but no such sport. Thank you for sharing.
Just had to throw away two Loctite dispensers. Neither one would dispense any glue. I can get them to work maybe 1 out of every three I buy. And if it finally works, it's dry the next day.

A highlight or Sharpie marker is another good way to add color to your plastic baits.

Looks like a good spot. That's a nice jig.
Another Classic! Great video and Thanks for sharing!
I was channeling some inter-gene on my last trip. My brother caught a 3.81lb crappie. Had a little woo in the mix!
Going on the wall?
@@mikewest712 Yup that one is. We let every big crappie back but this one was the exception
@@KEYSTONE_SLABS I'm the same way. I have kept 1 crappie for tax man in my life.

Yep, this bait is a winner in any waters where threadfin shad are a staple for the resident fish.

nice vid and info thanks Richard. Would this work for large mouth? How about Stripers?
Good job I wished I had the knowledge you have about fishing.
Everytime he takes off his glasses, I know for sure he is going to go crazy at the end lol.
Cool video very informative. Showed the bait how you rig it and caught a bucket full.
Those roadrunners or any underspin heads work good with those too.
