Quick note for anybody buying a used/surplus aimpoint comp m4... there is a 50/50 chance the unit you're buying could have a seized battery cap because the US Military only uses Alkaline batteries which leak and corrode. I bought one recently and the cap was fused to the battery compartment. You have to cut the cap off with a dremel and buy a new cap which is hard to find, and you run a high risk of damaging the threads on the compartment rendering the red dot useless. Great optics... but buyer beware on the used ones.
Yes, that is great information. When you do buy one and/or a PVS-14, be sure to buy some lithium batteries. No sense in putting cheapo batteries in your expensive optics.
I’m in the military, I used that exact Aimpoint optic in basic training, also the ElCan on our crew serv weapon’s at my unit and the peq on NVG training. I haven’t seen the light that you have or used the Eotech that you have. But, if you ever want to sell that ElCan, please let me know!!! I loved it when ever it was on my issue weapons like the m249 or the m240. Haven’t seen it since Covid hit. Would love to own one tho, great collection you got, brings back memories. Thanx for sharing.!
I have a 2018 Colt SOCOM I’m looking for a clone correct optic for it, most of my rifles have Aimpoint optics, the Eotech you have is just cool looking on a clone rifle. I haven’t been able to find one, I may just go with the EXPS3! I love the clone guns, but they sure have been expensive!😂
Yeah, I have the exps3 too. it's better than the old school one, and it's got a warranty. But yeah, it's expensive. I wouldn't bother with the 553 unless you get it cheap like I did (~$200).
I had the SU231 on a Mk18 clone for a while. It was awesome and looked great. But eventually things broke that I couldn't fine and I had to start making my own battery compartment springs and seals. At that point I sold it as I needed it to be more user friendly. My aimpoints however, those still have support, so I don't mind keeping them around.
Yeah, I totally agree. The aimpoint compm4 is still service plus it does have a proven track record. I bought the SU231 for $200, as that's about as much as I wanted to spend on it assuming it might break down the road. Getting a tanodized one is too much for me when I could get something else that I want more.
@@MilSurpCat HA! I sold mine on Tacswap for $200 a few months back. Dude was thrilled to find one that cheap, it was painted though, not black like yours. I talked to an Eotech rep at a Vendor show last year about getting parts and he told me they threw out everything older than 2007 a few years back and even if he tried there would be no parts. That was the nail in the coffin for mine.
Picked up a surefire for 200 bucks , but debating the m3x but i think I’m gonna get the turbo first but my inner child wants to buy the m3x over being practical
If you really want one, I think get em while they are easy to get. They'll never make it again, as it's outdated, and they'll probably just keep getting more expensive as they are more rare. You can retrofit them with the new bulb, too. However, if you just need a light, surefire scouts are probably ur best bet or maybe a cheaper streamlight if you're going straight practical.
I got the elcan thru reddit's gun accessories for sale, the comp m4 + atpial-c thru gunbroker, the eotech from ebay, the two lights from thoroughbred armament. Hope that helps.
Can you access the battery compartment of the M3X while it’s attached to a rail?

You’re not fucked with the SU-230 if its breaks. I just got mines back after doing a 2032 battery conversion.

Check out reddit's for sale subreddit. I'm glad you liked the video. If I had an extra, I'd part with it, but I only got the one!
My want for an Elcan surpasses the ability of my wallet and it makes me sad.
I was totally in the same boat dude. One day, one day...
So worth it, but I’m doing the same thing with the mawl now
Keep saving. You can get it with enough time.
Reddit and tacswap can be your best friend and worst enemy at the same time because i found a SU-230 on there for $1250
Don’t give up. Found one a couple of weeks ago for $1250.
I dont see a trijicon
I still have a few CompM2s and they are still going strong.
CompM2s are awesome. I've got one myself.

I still love the Elcan Spectre DR. I have the 6x and the 4x. Battle rifles are my thing and the Elcan is just love

Seen a m3x for a grand on gunbroker 😂
Is there a website that you hunt this stuff down on

also I've had good luck on arfcom's equipment exchange. When you buy from there, make sure the person has a good trading reputation.

I have a Surefire M951 and while it’s not bright by today’s standards it’s fucking solid and is yet (knock on wood) to fail me.
