I remember Ben ranking as the top North Melbourne player in terms of meters run during a game (17 km ave). I always thought that such a statistic belonged to midfielders? But then I remembered his goal shooting run ups, and worked out why. Always loved what you brought to the table, Ben. You were at your best at North, and wasted at Melbourne (like every key forward there) but I'm glad that you got a premiership.

Great speech benny gunna miss seeing the 30 meter run up for goal when the dee's play against essendon have a great retirement and spending family time together
I saw Ben kick a bag in Hobart against us to get a win for north. I was so impressed with him that day i wished him to join the Dees from that point. Such a shame about the knee, he was a great lead up forward and goal kicker. We missed out on a heap i suspect.

Benny Brown was a gun player for the Dees. Under-utilized by the club. Pushed back to VFL too many times. Had a ripper arm reach. Will miss his 300 meter run-up's at goal.
