0:16 "Bose has been at the top of the noise cancelling headphones game for a while." Bruh, that's the understatement of the century. They invented the technology and nobody has come close in terms of noise cancellation.
This review is so detailed! The audio portion especially. The only thing missing is a durability checkup. They look sturdy, but how are they for failure points and noticeable materials quality?
I purchased yesterday. Sound quality is amazing. Noise cancellation is good. Mic is OK for me. I talked my wife and she did not understand that I used Bose for phone. I had also Jabra Sport. Bose is far more superior regarding sound quality. I have also QuietComfort 35. It is also perfect.
I have both the QC35 II over ear, and these. I was blown away at how good these were considering they aren’t over-ear headphones. The bass is very satisfying and comparable to my QC35II’s. I havn’t found much skipping or lag so I’m happy. It may also interest people (if they’re also looking at the Sony 1000X earbuds...) I also had those at one stage and they were unbelievably bad compared to QC30’s. They had zero bass, and cut out all the time!
Hmm. I own a pair to use in the gym as I have a pair of custom JH16 Pro in ear monitors for ''proper' listening. Sound quality is great.. Good bass, mids and highs. Noise cancelling works a treat. Cuts out background gym music and noise of train and passengers when commuting. Tips fit fine. Collar does move around a bit but not wearing as a fashion item so I'm cool with that. Generates a LOT of wind noise so not suitable for running/cycling (which I don't use for) Bluetooth strength is awesome on mine. I leave my iPhone in a cupboard on the gym floor and can do my workout walking round the gym with no issues of drop offs. It's actually funny because its only when I walk WAY off that it cuts off and that reminds me that I've forgotten my phone on gym floor. I've even let my phone charging in shaff room, walked out onto gym floor down a corridor and made it about 30 meters away (through a closed door) before it started cutting. I don't doubt reviewer had issues he says he had but may have had something to do with the bluetooth on his phone. Read/watched many reviews before buying and never heard/saw anyone else have the same issues.
Was holding back buying these just waiting for your review. It's about time. Always been with bose and always trusted your reviews. Will hold back again for what we say hopefully a better iteration.
I have these for about a month, the connectivity is not that bad, I have had issues but not that often as he said. I will rate the connectivity 8.5 over 10
I bought a pair of these headphones as they are cheaper now. I absolutely love them. I don't have the issues of the neckband moving but I'm not wearing them on a bare neck. I think 10 hours is plenty and any more really would make them heavier and larger. On flights, I carry an Anker charger pack and would prefer to charge things in breaks than always have a way heavier neckband. If you had a longer cable you could even charge these while wearing them. I think they made the right choice as I use these on long hikes and the extra weight would be noticeable and a poor trade-off for the exceptional time you need more than ten hours. Excellent review though.
Next Gen needs collapsible or folding neck piece to place in your pocket, and a built in optional 3.5 wire extension port to use on airplane or when juice runs out. Microphone could also be upgraded to Jawbone style in effort to eliminate background noise.
I got these before the price increase in the UK. Brilliant pair of earphones. Only downside is the mic for taking calls. I find myself not even attempting to answer the call unless it's important, which isn't ideal
10 hours is damn good bro I've had the LG Tones anywhere from the cheapest to the most expensive and never got 10 hours not even 8. I'm a daily driver I almost never take mine off. If I could just charge him overnight and they last all day long, from the time I leave the house to the time I get home that's just amazing I must have been missing out with the LG products since I always have to charge them at least once in the middle of the day. The most disappointing part about it it's the neck piece that slides around which I had the same issue with the Samsung ones that came out for 5 years ago. I have a pair of the soundsport wireless earbuds and those don't break connection I'm very surprised at these do. Having been used to wearing a neck band from all the LGs I was going to return my soundsport earbuds in favor of the familiar neck band. Very disappointing but I'm glad I didn't have to figure it out for myself thanks for the review
Damm perfect review and you hit it spot on. I returned mine all because of what you said. I think gen 2 will be much better and hopefully they listen you fix the issues
Yes, the band can move around a bit which is annoying. But the comfort feels the same to me even if askew a bit. The simple solution is to duck the blades under your shirt. I do this daily and don’t mind the feel against my skin. Maybe would be bothersome in 90 degree temps.
After VERY LITTLE use, The RIGHT channel (microphone side) died! The earpieces fell off on a flight I was taking and I had to go to Amazon to find replacements. I had given up on them until recently but discovered BOSE would replace them at no cost. Keep your box with the SN because you'll need it to send them back! They really should replace them considering how much they cost. I would not buy again.
The wear quality on these is rather poor, too. The rubberized cover separated on me in about 3 months. The noise canceling actually amplified background noise during phone calls, but worked fantastically in all other use cases.
NICE job on the review. To the point, fast paced and hitting all the care points. No stuttering/well scripted. VERY professional and much appreciated. I cannot have headphones with only 10 hrs battery life WHEN NEW (it will fade within a year...) AND which have questionable low power bluetooth connectivity. I will go for the 20s for sleeping. THANKS!
I had two of these disintegrate on me in the space of 18 months. NC and sound was great, but what's the point when the neckband falls to pieces after 6-8 months of use? Not worth the money.
Good rev. At that pricepoint, the device needs to work flawlessly in my pocket (which is wear I carry my phone). Skipping at arms length for 300 beans? Hell no.
They're shite 'phones. I was given a pair and actually returned the to the guy so he could claim his money back. So many reasons to hate these but most of all the bluetooth is crap beyond belief, can't run (or even walk fast) with the them as they move and who doesn't sweat around the neck sometimes? Horrible.
I love em. However, after a few years now, the phone part of it all doesn't work. People cannot hear me when talking. Traded them in for the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds...mistake.
Great Review - I had the old Single ear Bose they no longer make. It was the Best. Too bad for them being discontinued. Regarding this model: The noise cancellation is the best par. However the main body shifting around the neck (also mentioned in another review), the battery life, as you say could be better utilizing the body, and I would think that they'd mimic LG's retractable earbuds to prevent them from hanging on you or in front of you when bending over. Copnsidering those observations and the the high price, Bose needs to make a few changes to make it the Ultimate headset, before I'll buy... Good honest review!
I never liked the design of LG Tone's and when this QC30 was launched, I was completely disheartened to see the same style and design. Bose must do something which was never done before i.e., making a new design and style in their wireless earbuds with ANC. P.S. I own QC20 and I really love them being a flight attendant as its my daily drive to get a sound sleep in crew bunk.
I’ve had these for about 4 years now, I’m on my 6th pair. All were replaced under warranty for various defects. I they are on my neck every day…. And I mean every single day. The pair I’m on now is about a year old…. It’s been sold. However, call quality is absolute trash even in a quiet room. I use these in a noisy metal shop and they do a great job of quieting down my environment.
No mention of how good/bad the latency is (and no AptX support). Not important for listening to audio only media, but how do these fair when trying to watch video?
What kinda phone you're using? You should've provided that info.. Because it's known that iPhones are inferior to high end Android devices when it comes to wifi and Bluetooth signal.
I bought these one year ago and unfortunately something went wrong after i did the latest firmware update... it creates a static noise on the left earpiece... which they (Bose) can not fix it.... I suggest to those who want to purchase any products of Bose wireless make sure to read the community forum of the Bose and you will discover a lot of problems with those products.... I'm very disappointed with it.... Please think before purchasing a high-end product like this or else you will end-up like me....
FORGET ABOUT IT!!! I bought those and returned them fast. Here are the main issues coming from your normal buyer non sponsored. Pros: Great Sound Cons: - Sound not loud enough when you really want to hear it loud. - the darn rigid band is plain awful, if you’re remotely a big guy, it’s gonna be too tight and not be comfortable at all - disconnects easily if you step remotely away from the playing source; TV or leave phone as you walk away For the price vs products I highly recommend you pass on this product PERIOD.
Looking for replacement for my lg tone infinium. I love Bose’s sound quality. Looks like I am getting the cheaper Harmon Kardon lg due to wanted retraction.
Hello. I am looking at reviews on QC30. There are multiple reports of rubber detaching after a year or so. According to the time of this video (Feb. 2017) you have QC30 for two years. Have you experienced rubber detaching yourself? Thank you.
srozefeld the rubber will detach at the seems so severely it will prevent headphones from working. I’ve had to send two pairs back to bose for repairs in two years. Save yourself the headache and do not buy!!
I really enjoyed your review and you just saved me $300 lol I can afford them but your review makes me think they are not worth $300 price tag, I would say $200 to $250 at most for this head set, at $300 buck it would be nice to get 20hrs battery life for long flights would be nice
Microphone is in the wrong position, people can't hear you clearly on the phone unless you pop the ear piece out and hold the mic close to your mouth. The rubber on mine that covers the circuit boards came apart after 10 months of careful use...so build quality isn't good. Now sent off for replacement under warranty but that's quote as 2 week wait.
Great review. One thing you didn't address at all is that at the $300 price point it looks a little ridiculous to have the earbuds just hanging there when not using the set. It's completely unacceptable for a professional environment. The set should have the ability to retract the wire or the buds should magnetically attach to the ends... hanging on my shirt is just unacceptable.
i have no stutter when i have my phone on my desk, not even once, but with my phone in my pocket (front right, the antenna is also on the right on the QC 30 according to Bose), i have a lot of stutter, even more so if i wear my winter coat. really disappointing.
I'm sure they're nice earphones but not worth $300. Just bought Samsung Level U Pro for $30 and I don't think these earphones are 10 times better than the Level U Pro.
Sorry i want to know do you find any disconnect when you but the mobile in your pocket & when edit noise cancelation on for example 80% with the application then application not available on mobile it will complete at 80 % or can change it without application ?

Bryndleson Dude, no one would dunk the headset into water if hey paid that price for the headset!! It's one of the products from Bose that I don't see much worth the price tag... the sound sport wireless could have been made noice cancelling!
Bose in Mexico warranty plan is garbage, Quiet Control 30 as soon as warranty expired was broken, and $368 dlls only for 2 year is a robbery, if you are in USA is possible it worth it because you have 5 year warranty. In Mexico never should buy Bose headphones.... Warranty is short and there is a lot of people complaining, direct to garbage.
Call quality is really bad, let alone making a call in a noisy environment, other side have problem hearing you in the quiet environment. Really disappointing for a headset at this price
If the battery life was spot on the quoted runtime, why on earth would you give these an 8, and not a 10? So what if YOU want more battery, a review should be about "Does it perform", and you state that it does, then score it down, this makes all your other scores doubtful.
Sennheiser Momemtum In-Ear is Far better than these Bose QC30 Earphones, Sennheiser Delivered High Quality Crystal Sounds Quality and Heavy Bass Punching Volume to your Ears , Bose QC30 6-10 Sennheiser 10-10
Never had any trouble with these whatsoever they are amazing
0:16 "Bose has been at the top of the noise cancelling headphones game for a while." Bruh, that's the understatement of the century. They invented the technology and nobody has come close in terms of noise cancellation.

This review is so detailed! The audio portion especially. The only thing missing is a durability checkup. They look sturdy, but how are they for failure points and noticeable materials quality?
If you use them daily, they'll very likely disintegrate within 6-8 months, so durability is disastrous.

One thing that turns me away from those is that there is no way to store the earbuds. No retractor or magnets

If the battery life was spot on the quoted runtime, why on earth would you give these an 8, and not a 10? So what if YOU want more battery, a review should be about "Does it perform", and you state that it does, then score it down, this makes all your other scores doubtful.
Super Awesome 👌

I bought this crap and the build quality is very bad. The rubber cover starts peeling off after 6 months... Don't buy this.
