    Hello everyone!
    A few days ago I was contacted by Google Deepmind and I received 20 new games between AlphaZero and Stockfish. This is only the first game for you to enjoy.
    I seem to be coming down with the flu, but regardless, the rest are soon to follow :)

    • @NudelKungen.
      @NudelKungen. 6 лет назад +5

      Krmpfpks although you might be right, I find it hard to believe that google’s Deep mind department would take revenue from videos that Agadmator makes, if you are not just pointing out that Google owns RUclips and are taking ad money that way, if so, I’m sure that DeepMind and RUclips are two parts of google that are very far apart, and that Deepmind won’t see any of Agadmators ad money.

    • @Krmpfpks
      @Krmpfpks 6 лет назад +2

      pizzamagnet I am just reminding that it is one corporation. It would actually cool if deepmind / alpha zero was directly benefiting from the revenue, but I don’t think that is the case. But given that deepmind and RUclips are owned by Google, it’s an easy decision to share the games with RUclipsrs.
      Deepmind is in a race for the most talented people and google is investing a lot to attract them, that was the whole point of building AlphaZero in the first place. Now they capitalize, getting free and excellent publicity and they earn a little money in the process.
      So yes, exciting games, wonderful and entertaining coverage by our beloved agadmator, but let’s not forget the motivation behind it.

      Well not so fast but we have seen that Berlin defense is really strong and besides Ruy Lopez there are not many good openings with e4. I wonder if a defense will be found against d4 such as Berlin vs 1. e4 e5. What makes it hard is the fact that d4 gives white a variety of responses. It will anyways prove that chess is the most perfect game ever because it either took ca. 1500 years to "solve" it or it is unsolvable making it truly perfect.

    The standard chess engines are slowly squeezing their opponent until (he/she/it) is dead. But Alpha seems to feel (not directly resolve) sort of a "mate in 100 moves" position and goes for it. Anything the opponent plays reacting to current threats, in the same time creates a new vulnerabilities and the mate is coming closer and closer... It's nice to watch, but also impossible to learn (insufficient brain computing power) and it makes human chess look silly. Hope that AI will not do this will all other "human brain dominated" areas.

    • @afterthesmash
      @afterthesmash 6 лет назад +5

      You have it backwards. There will be no field that AI enters where it doesn't feel like the AI has a crushing advantage. No-one is going to replace pretty-good-avec-judgement with slightly-better-than-pretty-good-sans-judgement. The deal is always going to be to replace pretty-good-avec-judgement with obliterating-sans-judgement. Who needs judgement when kick-ass is the only gear available?
      Chess players ought to understand that no such exchange is completely free from remorse. There will be times when kick-ass without judgement blows up in our face. Our puny human brains will simply have to learn to adapt to these new risks. In exchange for taking on these news risks, the default daily competence of our niche machine overlords amounts to a quantum leap upwards. Radiology, to name just one thing, is already on the menu.
      AI: "Yeah, that's cancer".
      Human expert: "I don't see it."
      AI: "Yeah, you wouldn't, you're not a machine."
      Any mediocre AI, one that merely achieves human-comparable competence, is a complete waste of time. If you ever do see a mediocre AI pressed into service, it will only be at the hands of a mediocre team of AI woodpushers, who really ought to equip themselves with a competent coach.
      Edit: The English word "without" is so terrible to the eye, I had to come back and substitute the awesomely concisely and incisive avec/sans. (Much like "and in this position Stockfish resigns" you don't often hear "awesomely concise and incisive" in conjunction with written French-lording over the British with one hand and the Germans with the other-but from time to time, yes, this is a indeed a thing.)

    its really satisfying to see stockfish losing , for one reason is that , when you analyze with stock fish one of the games of the past like , mikhail tal , it says you can defend the position as stockfish gives some moves , which is kind of disrespect to mikhail tals attack , alpha zero explained to stock fish how you cn not defend in passive position by defeating him again and again , its so satisfying seeing stockfish trying to defend against an attack from alpha zero am sure he felt the pressure and could not get any move to save his games we believed that stockfish can play in a passive position , but now we know in chessgame no matter how strong you are , if you are getting attacked and you are undeveloped , then you are loosing the game , regardless of you plying best moves , am thinking of that we will have GM who can beat stockfish , and the only way to do it just play like human , and follow you intuation and forget about his defences because stockfish is just silly ,

      Alpha plays like a mix between human and engine. Like it has a much deeper understanding of patterns, and where the exceptions to the rules are. Its computational prowess, though far less than stockfish's, is well, well beyond that of a human, it compensates with a much deeper understanding of the game; a knowledge of patterns that beats brute strength.
