You said a bunch of relevant things to me in this video. I told my wife the other day that this is going to be a new year for me on RUclips. My main point was that I’m going to stop trying to hit it out of the park with every video and just relax in the creation of my content and focus on just having fun with it. And all for the same reasons you mentioned. The videos I worked so hard on had low ROI and the ones I just hit record on did much better.
Oooh man that’s great to hear.. but yea man I’m also sorry that you’ve been hit with the “reverse youtube tosis!” 😂 Maaaan it’s happened to me sooooo many times.. which is why I also stepped back a bit
I honestly feel downhearted why your videos don’t get the number of views they deserve. You have inspired me a lot with your style of creation. Thank you!
@@ItzSKYVlogs one thing I cannot remember you ever saying, is how addictive vlogging is. I noticed this once when I gave up for a while for a break and I was itching to get back
*I was JUST at Vidcon and I made a Similar Video about being Confident in front of a Camera, whether it's in your room Alone or out in the world if you don't have the confidence to sit in front of your camera and talk then RUclips isn't a platform for you whether it's making shorts or long form it doesn't matter, and I think that's thee number 1 thing before anything else that you need to be comfortable with otherwise you're not going anywhere on this platform*
Yo Skyyyyyy. Could you also grip me one of those silver play buttons? 😜 Jokes aside, great video man, you are spitting facts. The point that I felt the most was, "everyone thinks it's so easy to do". And we can't forget about the haters! They be coming out the wood work as some point!. RUclips is as rewarding as it is stressful!
Oh man.. don’t even worry about the haters… they don’t even matter in my opinion.. I mean don’t matter if you’re perfect.. someone’s always gonna say something lol
i wanna support you to get up to 100K subs bro cuz ur content is up there next level like super sayin GOD mode but yeaah brotha i totally get what your saying i had that fear too and now im loving making videos
Oh man. The thing that gets me most is that every time I finish a shoot, I'm always 100% positive that something's wrong.I didn't get enough footage. I didn't provide enough information. My delivery was dull or otherwise off. There's no coherent story. And so on and so on. Most of that is settled once I get into the editor, but I still feel a sense of trepidation when I press that button to publish. I'm sure my viewers are gonna hate this one. Then the views go up and the comments come in and all is well with the world. Until it comes time to shoot the next one and the process repeats. My viewers are amazing, but man it's hard to shake that feeling that this video I'm about to publish is the one that's going to let them all down.
I have to agree! I think content has been so over produced the last couple years, people want something more authentic, something that looks like something they could create themselves!
💯 the videos we sometimes give a lot of effort to make never do well. I just don't get it. Hit yeah youtube is hard. One just has to do it only if you enjoy making videos otherwise if you are coming in for the money then demotivation might just be around the corner waiting for you.
Trust me I know that feeling of doing all the work and u know am doing great work it's hard out here in 3 days it will be 4 years and I don't even reach 5k 😢 so much money time and effort for barely minimum return and it's not like my content isn't good I just can't get audience I feel like I am being shelved
This reminds me of yoga… yes… yoga. “Oh it’s easy, anyone can do that. Why is this considered an exercise?” Until I tried it the first time and about died. Yes, it’s hard af!
The Insta360 app is loaded, bloated, and odd to me. It’s stable though. I recommend NOT trying to learn everything it offers and do it…go as you know. The auto edit modes on the app are terrible btw. The desktop app might be better idk. I’m so excited you got this camera Sky! You do a great job teaching and keeping it real and I think many will benefit from your experiences. Thanks Sky for the encouragement and positivity!
My biggest gripe about the insta360 computer software is it won't allow for adding Garmin activity data. It's only possible in the app. Big oversight to me in my opinion.
yoo wasn't expecting to hear my name just now 😂 caught me off guard! You're spot on with the reality of being a RUclipsr.. having to be everything such as the filmer, editor, colorist, etc (it's kinda fun being all of them in my opinion). I've definitely learned a ton these last few months. I'm curious, what editing software do you use? I've been using DaVinci Resolve and although a bit complicated at first, now I absolutely love it.
Ooh man I agree! I really like it.. I love the whole process. It’s just so funny how in traditional media.. they have teams of people doing one thing.. while we be over here doing it all like bosses! 😂
Okay, I had a chuckle at 2:15 - "You have a media manager...that's the person who manages all the media!" Love your vlogging style, my friend! Question for you... when you do these types of vlogs, do you script them ahead of time? I ask because I like how you start a thought in one setting, and then finish it in another setting. I can only think that happens through scripting. But I've always been impressed when people do that type of thing! :)
Oh and to answer your question… no I don’t script. I just have the topic.. and the the key points.. Oh and I also write a joke if I think of something on the fly that I know I’ll forget Hahaahah
9:32 bro I swear this just happened to me😂 a couple days ago it was getting extremely late and I was exhausted editing and I said screw it im just going to put out what I had finished up. I thought to myself this probably going to be my worst video and no one will watch it. Come to find out it’s one of my best performing videos 😂 so weird how that works man
On my canon and Sony I use manual. But keep the auto focus on (most of the time unless I want to get a specific shot.) Oh for the smaller drink I’m shooting in auto :)
Sorry, no. At the day I'm not cut out to be: a content creator, a RUclips voice (as in Simon Whistler), or any other 'new media' iteration in the future. You see, basically you are caught in a slow train, sorry to say, to nowhere. Sure, plenty make it, just 99.99 percent is going nowhere. If someone wants to make a killing, don't think the time and effort needed is more than most can endure. It takes time, effort, and capital, and still it is left up to chance.
Lots of long rambly unwatchable footage if you don't write a script. Don't make your editor(you) try to make that interesting. Plan out a little something, do multiple takes, check audio, and create.
Yoooo Happy Monday! Whats the hardest thing about youtube to you?
Just starting. I'm a retired teacher, so I have no excuse. I have plenty of time. Just no drive, I guess.
