I cannot thank you all enough for taking the time to watch, re-watch, and comment on this short I made back in film school 20 years ago. It's incredible. Most importantly, thank you Godspeed for making such beautiful and affecting music.

Development on Coney Island has always been controversial. When the first
structures were built around the 1840s, there was an outcry to prevent
any development on the island and preserve it as a natural park.
Starting in the early 1900s, the City of New York made efforts to
condemn all buildings and piers built south of Surf Avenue. It was an
effort to reclaim the beach which by then had almost completely been
built over with bath houses, clam bars, amusements, and other
structures. The local amusement community opposed the city. Eventually a
settlement was reached where the beach did not begin until 1,000 feet
(300 m) south of Surf Avenue, the territory marked by a city-owned
boardwalk, while the city would demolish any structures that had been
built over public streets, to reclaim beach access.

if you listen to Set Fire to Flames, lyingdyingwonderbody, who is apparently the same person, is homeless, depressed, dislikes politicians, has served time in prison and was once kicked in the head by a horse. He also praises the band saying that "they know the truth and will set them free". he's a pure down and outer, like BBFIII.

The corrosive persistence of time. Unforgiving, fair, and unprejudiced. Every eukaryotic being on this Earth has endured it, and one day it will do away with all of us.

And here we are today.. hearts are breaking for the lives lost and left behind.. and by ... a broken world. Lost by death in spirit, soul, livelihood .. and the list keeps growing. Somewhere there are pockets of purity. Its still amongst us. Somewhere. Like this treasure.
2020 has been a rogue wave. I hope you are well.
