Cool to know, but that doesn't change her name from Tinashe to Tina. Not everyone is cool with every nickname used for someone else with their name. Just like not all Catherines are called Cat, nor all Katherines called Kath, nor all Elizabeths called Liz, some are called Beth. And some don't like nicknames at all. I am one of those, it annoys me when people try to nickname me without my permission, and I tend to not be friends with those people. Now if they asked and I said okay, that's a different story. I only let people call me by a nickname if they're my coworkers, not a native English speaker - or if they explicitly asked my permission, received permission, and I like them. (Some people ask but don't wait for my response which is the same as not asking.)
