    Regardless of what the research says… even if it is only a placebo effect… that is still beneficial to the client. I use it as a complementary treatment to my deep tissue massage/bodywork.

      I am so sorry that you have finger crump. Typically finger crump pain caused by scar tissue, fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation. In order to treat the root cause of your pain you will need to work on superficial/ deep scar tissue, superficial/ deep fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation simultaneously. ASTR's patient tool kit has 4 tools to address these issues.
      Here is my protocol for finger crump:
      - Mild Pain Package: pain level 0-3/10
      - Moderate Pain Package: pain level 4-6/10
      - Severe Pain Package: pain level 7-10/10

    Hi Dr Joseph.
    Great video. Always good to hear different sides of an opinion. I do have to say though, with respect, I disagree with this.
    Dry needling is a regular method used to treat our patients.
    What we have found is the opposite of what you have put forward.
    We have seen great improvements in function of the joints, decrease in muscle pain, huge improvement in sports performance and even found it successful in treatment for fibromyalgia.
    We have used it to resolve problems that have even been with a patient for decades.
    The success stories from using Dry Needling are vast.
    Have you ever tried it on patients?

      If Dry needling is a placebo then why do I still feel the effects days after. When I started, I'd gain mobility but I'd hurt for days later. Placebos don't cause constant prolonged discomfort. It was 2 steps forward for recovery but steps 4 steps back for comfort everytime (for reference, I was bed ridden for about 4 years and lost most of my muscle mass and core strength.
      Dry needling helped reset my back muscles which we doing the jobs of my back and core and allowed me core to become active again. Had about 8 dry needling sessions in about 50 days and then moved on to basic physical therepy.
      It definitely works but it's not a treatment for dime a dozen injuries. It's for people like me who have had a muscle group completely overshadow another and forced it out of its job. I owe my recover to dry needling, the means I needed to build my foundation.
      (The PT who did mine was also the same guy who helped develop the Thor3 training program the Green Berets use)

    Dry needling is the standard for treating myofascial trigger points

    • @Dr.Jacobs
      @Dr.Jacobs  2 года назад

      That does not mean it is effective treatment. Based on several systematic reviews it is not effective. The link of the studies in the video

      Trigger point dry needling for the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome: current perspectives within a pain neuroscience paradigm
      César Fernández-de-Las-Peñas and Jo Nijs
      Myofascial pain syndrome is a pain condition characterized by the presence of trigger points. Current evidence, mostly experimental studies, clearly supports a role of trigger points on peripheral and central sensitization since they are able to contribute to sensitization of peripheral nociceptors, spinal dorsal horn neurons, and the brainstem. Several interventions are proposed for treating trigger points, dry needling being one of the most commonly used by clinician

      @@eppystein2953 That is right but at the end of the studies it indicates that there are no improvement in pain level or daily function activities. Which are very important measure for the effectiveness of the treatment.

      Dry Needling Alters Trigger Points in the Upper Trapezius Muscle and Reduces Pain in Subjects with Chronic Myofascial Pain
      Lynn H. Gerber, MD, Jay Shah, MD, [...], and Siddhartha Sikdar, PhD
      Conclusions
      Dry needling reduces pain and changes MTrP status. Change in trigger point status is associated with a statistically and clinically significant reduction in pain. Reduction in pain is associated with improved mood, function and level of disability.

    I came to you to understand whether dry needling with pseudoscience. I came away thinking it was but also, magnets to treat pain? That's also pseudoscience.

    • @Dr.Jacobs
      @Dr.Jacobs  Год назад

      Based on studies and clinical testing small magnets are not effective. I was talking about the MagnaHeal, it is medical grade extremely strong magnetic device. MagnaHeal is part of ASTR treatment. ASTR (Biopsychosocial model), ASTR devices address scar tissue, fascia restrictions, trigger points, muscle spasm and inflammation. ASTR treatment address soft tissue dysfunction, proper nutrition, inflammation, posture, body mechanics, ergonomics, lifestyle changes and exercises.
      Based on a clinical study 87% of ASTR patients had long-term results (follow-up was 1-2 years later). Here is the link for over 45 studies support the efficacy of ASTR treatment advancedsofttissuerelease.com/what-is-astr/research/
      There are over 500 real treatment and follow-up videos show the efficacy of the ASTR treatment. ruclips.net/channel/UC3Nu0eIFVWWE6xaHJNFpC1w
      I explain how to treat the root cause of pain effectively based on studies in following video advancedsofttissuerelease.com/what-is-astr/
