You know, I absolutely love this! I want to try the lifestyle but was intimidated by the cost of buying and rigging out a van...not knowing whether I would like the life. I am recently retired and not young. I don't want to put a lot of money into something I may only do for a short time. So this is the perfect solution with a low cost and fixtures that aren't permanent but are removable and reusable elsewhere. I can actually see myself doing this!

I really enjoyed this video. It showed how the use of practical, inexpensive things can be used to still have a dry, warm shelter with essentials. I've been watching converted vans done by either very handy folks or professionals, and while they are cute, they never shared the cost of the builds. This woman took advantage of sale and low cost items and is living comfortably. She wisely had professionals install her gas heater for safety purposes. I gather she doesn't actually live in her van full time like the other videos I have watched, but I can see her accomplish it if necessary. :)

Thank you so much for sharing how you did this without a full/permanent build. One question - about rattle when you drive with all of the metal furnishings from ikea. Is it bad or nerve wracking? I’m currently a truck driver and when anything rattles in the bunk/living area it drives me crazy 😂😂😂. I’ve been watching van life videos for the past 4 yrs which led me to becoming a truck driver at 49 yo. Trucking is giving me the experience of living tiny and traveling while still having a job to do it. Trucking is also allowing me the ability to be rent free and save money so that in the next few years I can buy a van or build a tiny or shed conversion house. Between you and Chrome over at Vancity Vanlife, ive seen that this can definitely be done instantly without a crazy expensive or permanent build out. Thank you so much for that! Much love, best wishes, and safe travels. ❤️

Great stuff. You are in Canada! Must get kind of cold there..
Seems like you are learning a LOT. Quite impressive! Seems like you have a lot of things yet not cluttered.
You are awesome doing what you are doing! And you are very organized...which is one of the main keys to success in everything.
I use black sheer fabric for curtains and towels, and for covering things. I used to use velcro when I first started 21 years ago, yet I bought and sold mini vans and it became unnecessary to use velcro as I saw a better way to put up curtains using a for to push the fabric into ceiling/wall spaces...super easy. Over time, simplicity really made sense. Using something, for several uses helps for multitasking items.
Life is learning process as you well know.
Love love love that you are exploring and learning so much! You are amazing.
For a "no build" it almost looks like a build out. "No builds" are definitely where it's at...they're lighter, easy to rearrange, lighter weight to get much better gas mileage, and offers much more open space inside. I need a lot of space and windows...and simplicity.
You are awesome, and beautiful...your hair style is super cute and attractive!
Keep groovin' where ever you are...in your home .....your "adventure home!"

I wish I knew how to search RUclips better so I could find the van build videos and watch them in order. I found the first one then while looking for #2 i got lost and now I can’t find any of the others that I was scrolling past. I am OCD and I prefer to watch things in order 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣. I will keep searching until I find them all. I am really enjoying the tiny home vids and can’t wait to see all your van vids too. You explain everything so nicely. Your videos are a pleasure to watch

Absolutely fantastic rig! I will be doing something like this one day, and I love how simple this build is. The really fancy rigs both intimidate me, and I find all the complicated systems to be daunting and unnecessary. I want to build something that I can fix, and won’t cost 20,000 to build. Love love love all your great ideas!! Thank you for sharing.

We did a 30 seater bus conversion on a budget, we used a lot of recycled furniture, repurposed fittings & fixtures (like our kitchen underbench drawers were alimium front bathroom vanity which was not as deep front to back, so an ex-caravan sink we found for $20AU fit perfectly, and it left room for a passageway between our upright 12v bushman Fridge/freezer, which is their largest, but rated T for extreme heat, handles parking at up to a 30 degree angle, has a door lock and uses less power to run than a 100w light globe (75w per day or about 4 5amps but it does average 2.25amps over 24hrs on 12v. Its a 285L upright caravan fridge with huge 60L freezer, We vac seal our meat into meal size portions, and even icecream in the freezer!! Ww have perfect kitchen for us with triangle layout between the caravan sink & drainer, the 4 burner gas cooktop/oven/grill. Everything was secondhand or free except for our gas/solar appliances .. We even added an RV mini 400watt windmill that we got for just $179 AU, plus its silent so no disturbing birds, other wildlife, or other campers. And as it uses no fuel to run it!! its ideal on the coast when its windy, or rainy or even works to recharge yovernight , you g generator We can take about 3weeks of food with us, in our 285L bushman fridge/60L freezer.+ We made a simple gravity fed rainwater collection system with a collapsibe bucket and a brass garden hose connector to hook up our water filler hose to, plus we have 10 x 30Litre drinking water storage under our QS bed, interconnected, and small enough to carry to lake or waterfalls river,
We have 2 water filters. On filler hose, we made the rainwater collection system for about $30AU collapsible bucket + glued sealed a brass garden hose connector to the bottom of it. If you use recycled funiture, you can fit out an RV for under $2 grand Aussie $ under
for about $40AU We added and some free mater

You really have your van set up well. Glad you added the furnace. How much gas does it use?
Thr pee funnels for women was such a great invention. I have one in the car and a spare.
Love that you have back up battery power.
I'm not sure I would want to leave vacation early 😀. The adventure is just what we need to keep a balanced life.

I’ve been curious about the clearance on the Promaster.
How “off grid” can you get?
    What engine did you choose?
I love the simplicity of your buildout and congratulate you on a job well done 👍

      Good question. I'm just not sure. I don't take it 'off road' per se. It's a 3.6 litre, V6 engine. It's a 3500 so a one tonne.

Hi! I really appreciated your video. My son is going to college to play soccer and I was looking at a van to live and travel to his games. I was so overwhelmed at the buildouts and the cost, well, that was totally out of my budget. With what you showed in your video, I now feel more comfortable and am excited versus overwhelmed. Now the challenge is finding a van new vs used. Thank you again!!
