Very nice projects and really good, clear directions! I look forward to your future videos! The instructions for the heart pillow were extra helpful for me! I have been sewing for over 65 years and I have never thought of opening an inside opening for turning and stuffing, brilliant!
Great projects. They are very cute! Just a request: can you show the final products at the end of each segment about a second or two longer? I would like to admire it before it moves on so quickly to the next and also so that I don’t have to rewind it each time! 😂 Thanks!!
Love your videos!!! You’re a really great teacher!!! Your quilts and other projects are beautiful‼️🩷 I see some issues with your tension. Not sure what kind of sewing machine you’re using, but you might want to look into a Janome. Love my machine.
Thanks so much!! I really appreciate the kind words! My machine is a bit temperamental I have since got it fixed! I do have a Janome but my daughter took it haha, we love that one too! 😊
Pressing seams open is actually, separating the seam allowances, pressing each one in opposite directions, often done but can split apart as you quilt it. You are just pressing seam allowances to one side, often to the dark side, or just to the left or right. Yes George Lucas's mum was a quilter. Before pressing to one side, set the seams, press the seam with both patches together, then open the patches and press. Look up web piecing. Have you ever made your own bias binding fabric. Look for a bias maker, clover has a set. Press your quilt sandwich to dry and set the spray baste.
Another thing she needs to do is allow for transcripts because on a lot of videos that I watch after you click the word “ more” next to the title of the video , it opens up a side box and then I think you have to click the word more again but there usually is a button that says transcript and it gives you a printout of everything as she’s saying
Your seams from the Bernette 79 are puckering, I didn't see the dual feed mechanism being used. If you engage the dual feed, it will fix the puckering.
I noticed when you were trimming you pulled your rotary cutter from the top down, toward you. As a safety measure, you should push the rotary cutter away from you, never toward you.
You are having some serious issues with either your tension because at the 28 minute marker give or take your white fabric was bunching up so either your stitch length was too short, wrong needle. I’m not sure. I’m surprised you didn’t mention something about it because other people might have the same issue and you would’ve been able to help them. And your OLiso iron isn’t really doing a good job to make your fabric flat. Maybe time for steam and a clapper. My little Dritz out performs my little mini OLiso
You are right, I should have addressed the tension in the video. I'll definitely keep an eye on that in the future! I was able to fix it - I needed a new needle and a tune-up! :) I have to look into the little Dritz!
@ it seemed to happen more on the white fabric so I was wondering if maybe that was the issue. I bought the Dritz iron several years ago and oh my God does it ever produce hot steam. I’m so disappointed in the OLiso mini iron. It doesn’t even come close even sent it back to get a new one and the new one did the exact same thing. Clover also makes a similar version I think they’re all made in the same factory you’ll see a lot of RUclips quilters using the little iron. Can’t remember the video right now but I think his name is Tim and he had Quilting supply video under $10 from Amazon and I bought a clapper oh my God what a difference you think your seams are flat until you use the clapper. Then there is this other product made by a professional piecer Shelly Tobisch probably spelling her name wrong I think the name of the company is acorn and it’s called seam align something like that it’s like a liquid starch that comes in a pen and just when you think your seams are flat if you use this product oh wow talk about precision matching of seams and having your fabric lay flat as a pancake. I know there’s a lot of people out there who don’t have those products but you could still use them in your videos and just provide links if they want to purchase them at sometime in the future It took several years for me to accumulate all of my notions and hours and hours of watching a lot of different videos to gain helpful knowledge. I did make the Fabric book markers. They are so cute. What I did is cut the stabilizer a quarter inch shorter so it wouldn’t end up in the seams because it was making it a little bit difficult to turn and a little bit bulky sewing the top stitching
THANK YOU! In 2025 I will be teaching 2 granddaughters how to sew. All these projects will be perfect! I have LOTS of charm packs. Thank you again.
That’s so sweet! I hope you have a great time teaching them to sew!

Thank you so much! That heart pillow was one of my favorites to make too. 😊
Love this quilted pillow! Thank you! You are an excellent teacher
That's so kind of you to say!
Love your ideas. You are a good teacher too; thank you❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! 😊
Really like how you place pieces face down to help with your ironing patterns. Great idea! TYSM.
It helps me so much to do it that way!
You are an excellent teacher!
That means a lot, thank you!
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
Super cute ideas!
Thank you Janna!
Nice projects and and a great tutorial.
Thanks so much Deena!

Great tips, thank you so much! And George Luca's mom was a quilter made me laugh!! :)
Loved ur video can I make this with 2 1/2 strips
Thank you! Yes, you can!
Please include closed captioning. Thank you!!

You should be able to change that yourself. I also think it might depend on what kind of device you are using.
@@baseballquilter I checked in Settings and there isn’t an option to put on transcripts so it has to be done I’m sure at the creator’s level.
Thank you for the suggestion! I will look into this
How are you gauging your 1/4 inch seam? Is there a mark on the foot?
My foot has some marks, I just eyeball it but there are 1/4" machine feet if you want an easier way to make sure you are staying at 1/4"
@@seekatesew Thank you.

I saw that too, was wondering if bottom tension needs adjusted?
Thank you - I need to look that up and fix it!
I noticed when you were trimming you pulled your rotary cutter from the top down, toward you. As a safety measure, you should push the rotary cutter away from you, never toward you.
Thank you so much! I was using a broken rotary cutter and it would only cut that way - but I have since replaced it :)
