What will the conclusion of the North and South Korean conflict look like?
I sure hope it ends with peaceful reunification not violence. Either way one thing we do know is that the US is probably going to have to use it's huge logistical capacity to provide a lot of humanitian support during. I don't think it would be good for anyone to have an even less stable koeran penisula.
Like East&West Germany but more extreme.
East Germany was the richest nation of the Warsaw pact.
West Germany was not as well off as the other major NATO allies.
So the two were closer together economically than N/S Koreas.
Gotta wonder what's going to happen to Korea once the Kim dynasty dies out because it seems like that's what everyone is waiting for.
My guess is military dictatorship, the army has too much economic, social, and military power in North Korean society plus most of the commoners are brainwashed, poor, in work camps, or a mix of some, I don’t see North Korea improving much with 0 outside intervention
It also might become an oligarchy of elites for similar reasons to the military dictatorship

I was stationed in South Korea from 89 to 92 and we were always on alert. But stuff happened all the time on the DMZ when I was there. Also update on the black soldier who ran across to North Korea to get out of being deport back to the US for Rape. North Korea finally deported him back to South Korea. Basically when North Korea found out the girl involved was Korean they got pissed but used him for some favors in return.
I heard that North Korea got nothing for sending him back.

We shall name it the "De-Militarized Zone" 😂
That's because the militarization exists right on the border of the DMZ.
The DMZ is actually the space between the "military zones" which like the video said has some endangered species thriving. So there is no military presence in that middle area, hence the name De-Militarized Zone.
Growing up we had an italian ice guy. Instead of selling ice cream like the other trucks he sold italian ice. I learned how to count from my sister going over the prices of what he had and how much money I had. He was in Korea in 51. He was a good guy - I was kicked in the nuts by lyme disease and he'd stop at the end of his run for a chat. I was and still am a major history buff - as was he. One of my most prized possessions is a gift from him - a 1917 bayonet that his grandfather brought back from WW1. As he put it my kids want my stuff from Korea but don't care as much about history. I know it'll be going to a good place with you. The only things I cherish more are things from my grandparents and mother.
the craziest part about the South Korean commandos with claymores strapped to their chests is that they stood on the bridge shouting at the North Koreans to cross the bridge. And one of the commandos, Moon Jae-in was the president of south korea 2017-2022

That was my thought too. Though the Chinese usually lost until they broke the agreement and brought guns to the club fight.
He doesn't even touch on the FUNNIEST part of Operation Paul Bunyan.
The North Koreans initially opted to just NOT SHOW UP so that the whole thing could be spun as an act of 'pure unwarranted Western aggression' and they could pretend they weren't even aware of Op PB until after like it was no big deal.
So rather than be spun into the 'bad guys' and waste their show of force?
The US CONTACTED THE NK and told them they were there at that site to 'finish the work left unfinished' and imply THEY WERE ABOUT TO INVADE NK so that the NK actually HAD to send soldiers out to and acknowledge the show of force thinking rhey were about to defend against an invasion... and then BACK DOWN IN THE FACE OF IT in front of the ENTIRE WORLD when it turned out to just be cutting down that tree!

I remember the few who defected to North Korea. Was well respected by Kim Jung's father too when some wanted to go leave North Korea

It wasn't "divided between the United States and the Soviet Union". The US unilaterally ordered two soldiers, Dean Rusk and Charles Bonesteel, to carve Korea into two occupation zones, one for the US and one for the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was still marching south when the US made the decision. The US is primarily to blame for the pain of the Korean people today.

My wife and I went to the DMZ for our honeymoon. I’m surprised the guy didn’t mention Unit 684 that was meant for retaliation for the assassination attempt. One of the defectors, Jenkins, lived in Japan after leaving NK. I moved to Japan and wanted to go to his shop and he opened with his wife who had been abducted by NK but he died before I could go.

My Grandfather was in the Korean War.He said he had to drown out the constant mortar fire explosions to sleep.

Operation Paul Bunyan is my favorite event in history on how the US responded by essentially whipping their hog out and slamming it on a table with such force. God bless the American taxpayer dollar

To clarify, most North Korean defectors do not stay in China. Instead, they travel to Mongolia or Southeast Asia for refuge or find a way to make it to the West (Western Europe, the Americas, Australia, or New Zealand.)

I first heard of Operation Paul Bunyan from Tom Scott on Citation Needed. He seriously underplayed how much manpower and hardware was involved in cutting down that tree. Also, have to mention the golf course at the DMZ. Camp Bonifas, the UN command post at the border, has a single par 3 hole that is surrounded on 3 sides by land mines.

Lol a mukbang is literally just eating on video or in front of a audience. Its not gross. Korea is a very social country and eating alone is seen as rather depressing. If NK had more citizen than SK then the "funniest" thing would be a reunification initiated by the NK ruling Dynasty and use their ex-population to get voted into power of a new Korea. It seems they have at best like a third of the population of SK though making it a bit less likely to happen that way.
I guess the best outcome would be a coup by the NK military against the Dynasty and then a peaceful reunification but I doubt that would happen too.
Next best thing would be a civilian revolution but I doubt it would be a peaceful transfer of power and "rocket man" might not be too happy and do something stupid in response.
Wildcard would be if somehow the Dynasty somehow dies out, maybe a rocket accident or something, as that might result in power grabs and overall chaos in NK.
But yeah overall I wish for a peaceful reunification and hence better treatment of NK citizen who are also basically victims of 24/7 brainwashing over there.
6:12 during NK soldiers and SK patrol gurad's gunfight, one civilian bus was destroyed by frag grenade of NK soldier, killed 5 cvilians.
+ also, after this incident(or we call Jan 21th Incident) happened, SK introduced Personal ID cards and established Reserve Forces. This incident really made my country's defence policies today.
My father's father served during WWII and the Korean war! So I know about it, and I don't believe a cease fire = end of a war… but after decades of not being talked about in the US as current, 11:39 there's a recent one that defected because he wanted to go to North Korea to avoid court marshall while stationed there! But anyway I don't believe we should've went to Vietnam because we actually didn't end the Korean war we were in for technically three years 1950-1953(?)!
