Loved the tour. I know sailboats, but have been watching SVDelos for many months, and I was always a little bit confused. Thank you very much for clearing things up.
What a beautifully kept example of a stunningly designed yacht, well done to both of you! I sooooooooo want your boat I could cry! Big dreams in my head !!! Maybe one day!!! ONE DAY!! Peace and love!
The asking price is US$550,000. All the info are on au.yachtworld.com/boats/2006/amel-54-3581929/?refSource=standard%20listing or if you wish to receive the brochure please email is at info@nautilusyachtmanagement.com Many thanks,
I think RUclips rules do not allow pricing on the videos, otherwise this would just become another sales sight like Craig's List. Any time you are curious about a price they usually have a link to the yacht broker. You might have to look through a few adds, sometimes it's direct to the boat.
Very well presented. Was on my first Amel today at the Cannes Boat Show, an Amel 50. If it was sexy...yours is gorgeous. I get the modern lines people want today (like real estate) - but it strikes me that your boat is just that much more usable. Anyhow, love your video, love your boat. Alas, about 18-24 months too soon for me. She will make some couple very happy to take it on. Good luck finding her a new home.
Magnificent very beautiful home you guys have kept this lady so well maintained she sparkles from head to head have a lotto ticket bob maybe I'll be lucky
Great vid. Very nice boat, but what struck me is the lack of a solar array and no wind turbine(s). I think I'd also add a foreword looking sonar. Love the way you've organized the stowage. Lol 2 full size bikes folded in the garage. :-)
Hi Frank, It is true. The boat relies on the generator and alternators to charge the batteries. The owners preferred it that way but I certainly would add a source of alternative energy. If worried about cluttering the lines even water turbine would bring reasonable charge.
What a beautiful boat! Very well taken care of . Must be a joy to spend time on . Maybe after 14 years your looking for something a little bigger or maybe you just want to stay on land , either way what you have is pretty cool no matter what . Good luck. Paul, St Petersburg,Fl
For labtops a lot of people use DC (110 or 220) output fed by an inverter to plug in a laptop powerbrick to translate it back to 19V. I dont know why not install a 19V outlet regulated from the 24V board battery, wouldnt that be a lot more efficient?
Very beautiful thank you for the tour, i 🙏 our Lord be with you and 🙌 🙌 🙌 you in Good Health, may the Holy Word push out the spice in Jesus name, Amen & Amen.
You can store food for several months, but in reality no passage takes more than 2 weeks and most only a few days. I have a client who sailed non-stop from Seattle to Tonga, which took him 6 weeks as he was on a tiny boat and he was alone and had little experience to make the most of light winds. For example he never used his spinnaker. Others, such a two close friends, have sailed non-stop around the world and had to store food for 6-8 months on boats far smaller than the Amel 54. With some organisation anything is possible. Gallivant is a luxury yacht though, with plenty of fridge and freezer space, so you wouldn't have any problems keeping a gourmet menu. And of course most people also catch fish simplify trawling line.
I've looked at a lot of videos from Delos, they've had several issues; the bow thruster is over-complicated, the Volvo engine is unreliable compared to Yanmar, the toilet plumbing is too narrow and gets clogged. This boat has a better sailing angle and is larger. The construction is real blue water and safe, the shielded helm is a big plus.
Hi Frederik, Thank you for your comment. I have had Volvos and they were. just as reliable as Yanmars. About half the cruisers we work with have Volvos and they are unfairly criticised. We run an international cruiser's platform,so the boats we work with have, for some of them, sailed more than 20,000 miles. if Volvos were regularly a problem no cruiser would purchase a boat with a Volvo engine. As for the bow thruster, I'm not sure where you got this information from. Providing they have been installed properly they work a treat and would probably outlast many other bit of equipment you have on board. Narrow toilet plumbing gets clogged no matter the boat type and design. That's the plumber's problem and not the boat designer! Fit any toilet poorly on any design and you will have issues.
Delos has 7400 hrs on its Volvo and Brian Trautman just mentioned in his last video that it doesn't use any oil. They had to pull the turbo and clean the carbon out of it once but he has never had a major problem with that Volvo. I on the other hand had a Volvo 4 cylinder gas inboard outboard in a Bayliner power boat which was very problematic.
Hi Greg, Technically yes. The boat can be handled from the cockpit, and with all furling sails can be handled short or single handed. If you want to sail around the world by yourself you might want something smaller though. It's a lot of boat for one person. Small boats can be just as seaworthy and are easier to manage for solo sailors.
Yes, there is an excellent marine surveyor in Port Vila with haul out facility. His name is Justin Jenkins. I have known him for many years and could not recommend him more. www.marinesurveyorsandconsultantsvanuatu.com
The video lighting was quite disturbing. Also the perspective used did not convey true space and angles of the rooms. The boat is quite beautiful. Should have shown the engine spaces.
We tried out best Richard! Creating a video and posting it in Vanuatu is harder that you might think! It took a full 24 hours just to upload it. We are lucky to get 2G on the best days!
Hi Chip, thank you! Yes, this is a truly remarkable vessel. The asking price is US$550,000. Smashing boat beautifully maintained!
My dream yacht and one of the last real Amels.
Great galley & all you could want in the forward & aft cabins.
I agree the Amel 54 is beautiful. SV Delos has made the Amel known to those that follow them.
It really does not hurt to mention the asking price.

Nice ship! The only change I would make is to move that inverter out of the wet locker!

Will you take a check?
Gorgeous boat.
I wonder how many weeks of food you could store on board, if you wanted to do a long voyage like an Atlantic crossing or something similar.
You can store food for several months, but in reality no passage takes more than 2 weeks and most only a few days. Stunning vessel but of course it is it's an Amel...

ok
Is it safe to have the bed over those batteries likes that for someone to sleep over them
Good question but 'Yes'. Batteries are very often placed under beds on boats. This almost always the case in fact.
What a beautiful boat ...how does it cost ?
Thank you for watching. Unfortunately this boat is sold now.
Show
Thanks for the preview, as below, please supply a full inventory list and price in USD and AUD please. Is the boat same position ?

Is it an Amel Maramou?
Hi Foligrano. No, This Amel is an Amel 54.
I just wish I was as rich as that guy.
The video lighting was quite disturbing. Also the perspective used did not convey true space and angles of the rooms. The boat is quite beautiful. Should have shown the engine spaces.
