    Holy shit Domhnall, that's crazy story! Why are we laughing???????!!!!!!

    • @NS1973
      @NS1973 6 лет назад +5

      Because it's crazy/absurd. All laughter is an expression of fear, pain or discomfort. Think of any joke- ANY joke- someone gets it in the end. Embarrassed, hurt, short-changed, conned... SOMETHING bad happens to the "butt of the joke." So we hear this story from Mr. Gleason and we IMAGINE ourselves in his place, suddenly being rendered blind from something as simple as a fall, and it's a completely uncomfortable thought. We identify with the panic that he surely must've felt at the time and the absurdity of the situation... so, rather than get wrapped up in all of that imagined fear/discomfort, we laugh. It's a relief. Laughter is a GOOD thing. Because if we don't laugh, we cry and wither and refuse to face the world.

      TJ Wells That's all good but I was referring to the tone of the movies, where they make the bad guy the hero, instead of the antihero. They often portray their stories as if they are misunderstood and also very cool instead of showing how they fucked up so that the audience feels uneasy and learns from it. You know what I'm saying?

      Presuming you dont know the story I'll rehash it. Tonya was a figure skater and her rival was Nancy Kerrigan. Only a short while before the olympics Nancy was hit in the leg with a baton which could have blown her chances of competing in the olympics. Police found that Tonya's husband had hired someone to do this to Nancy. No concrete evidence was found to say Tonya knew about the upcoming attack. Its alot of circumstantial evidence however, i think if you add all it up she knew about it. Tonya has given multiple interviews which contradict the movie Margot has just been in. In short, Tonya keeps changing her own story

      People shoudnt be judged for their entire life, she was sentenced and paid, the movie shows you how hard her life was, something that should be used to your judgment, Nancy was judged because she was a white girl and from where she came from. And shes not winning nothing, people are just knowing her story.

    I go skating often as a child on ponds and crowded rinks and the only time anyone mentioned the idea of skates cutting off fingers was for hockey goalies since they put their hands down on the ice to cover the puck. I don't think that there's a need to be paranoid about severing fingers.

    I lost color In my eyes for an hour playing all stars baseball as a 14 year old. My buddy threw a baseball 100 feet or so in warmups and we were fake swiping down at a runner after catching the ball thrown from that far and I swiped before catching one time and boom the ball smacked me in the upper neck and it legit made my colors all messed up for a bit.
