no. in the quadratic you have to do a square root. Here you don't. You do only factoring and addition/subtraction. There's another way to do it 6x^2-x-2=0 First, you turn the -x into two numbers with x as a coefficient. 6x^2-4x+3x-2=0 We split it up into this because if we factorize it, the numbers in the brackets will be the same. 2x(3x-2)+1(3x-2)=0 Then you take one of the brackets and multiply it with the numbers that are being multipled by the bracket. (3x-2)(2x+1)=0. There are two solutions. To find both of them, just take one bracket with numbers and variables and that should equal to 0.(Take away the brackets cause they are not needed). So, 3x-2=0 or 2x+1=0 3x=2 2x=-1 x=2/3 x=-1/2 This is just another way of doing it.

6x^2-x-2=0
First, you turn the -x into two numbers with x as a coefficient.
6x^2-4x+3x-2=0
We split it up into this because if we factorize it, the numbers in the brackets will be the same.
2x(3x-2)+1(3x-2)=0
Then you take one of the brackets and multiply it with the numbers that are being multipled by the bracket.
(3x-2)(2x+1)=0.
There are two solutions. To find both of them, just take one bracket with numbers and variables and that should equal to 0.(Take away the brackets cause they are not needed).
So,
3x-2=0 or 2x+1=0
3x=2 2x=-1
x=2/3 x=-1/2
