I love the children in the background. They're totally cool with their mom making a video, and the cheers in the end got me😂😂😂😂 Im on day 5 of making my sourdough starter, and I'm already looking at bread recipes. 😂
@@mznisha haha thank you so much! And yay!! Don’t forget to check the description of this video and you can get my free recipe download if you haven’t already! Thanks for being here :)
Thank you for this! I tried following some so-called baking expert (baking bettie, i think) and nowhere in her videos does she mentions different rounds of stretch and fold and i think this is exactly what my dough needed 😮
@@jessydiaz4119 oh perfect! Yeah I know everyone does sourdough slightly different but usually there are a few sets of stretch and folds to help that dough develop nicely! Hope your bread turns out great!!
@@bonniesbestcreations6817 thank you! if it’s in my 1/2 gallon jar I feed it 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup water. If it’s in a 32oz jar (quart mason jar) I do 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup water. I don’t get super technical on the exact amount that is left for determining what to feed it because it’s not that picky, so I stick with these guidelines based on jar size to make it simple!
So I'm making your sandwich bread now, So I already did it 2 hours, l I'm about to put it for another 2 hours to see if it'll puff up and if it doesn't what can I do
You can, usually rolls have a little sugar or honey and sometimes milk depending on the roll type. But you could definitely make some with this dough too! No matter my ingredients I make all my sourdough bread recipes on the same timeline for the dough!
@@baedarable I’ll be doing a video on this soon, but likely it’s an issue of your starter. Make sure it’s strong and doubling and it is scooped at peak time!
@@fuentesfamilyhomestead yes thanks so much for sharing, I'm making it right now and I'm so excited! Also, I really appreciate all the information you shared-this can be such an intimidating process so I appreciate your approach!
@@fuentesfamilyhomesteadI too have been learning to make sourdough bread. I want to make 100% whole wheat. I started making bread using my starter right out of the fridge then feeding my starter to make my next bread. Trying to determine the negative issues vs the convenience of time saved not waiting on a just fed stater.
@@sasunee could be needing more time to develop. Is it doubling in size after feeding it? It also needs to be scooped at its peak after it doubles in size! I’ll be adding a video in the future on troubleshooting a flat loaf!
So super helpful! Thank you!

I am going to try and bake my own sourdough bread. Tired of supermarket breads making me bloated 😢
If your looking to make bread almost everyday I would recommend doing a more simple bread as sourdough starter takes time

I have a jar as big as the one in the video. How much do I feed it to get it activated?
I like be your videos. Do thankyou
When you discard. How much starter do you leave & then how much flour/water ratio do you use
