Paul's guitar in se line is an awesome idea
I've played several of these guitars and came very close to buying one. I will buy one of these within the next 6 months because the quality control standard on these is very high compared to other imports.
Not, for the price of an American made S2 satin...
NewGunGuy Who cares if it’s “American made”? They’re all made by CNC machines. The S2 line uses Korean parts, same as the SE.
@@jacoobyslaps For me, quality of wood, wood drying, American labor, QC and to some extent, future value are what I care about. Others may differ.
@Learn Stuff I know. That's why I added the last sentence.
For a long time i’ve been looking for a new guitar.... and finally found it
Paul is a absolute genius. He and jack really redesigned the electric guitar….for the better. The most musical instruments made today at any price point.
Just bought one a few days ago. Phenomenal guitar, it's so easy to play, looks and feels great, the pickups give a ton of tone options. So happy with the purchase, thanks guys!
This is exactly what I hoped to see for 2019! I will bring one home as soon as they hit the local dealers door.
I fell back in love with my SE Paul’s guitar this weekend. A few slight pup adjustments and using a different compressor and it found a killer Garcia tone in this beauty. The feeling this guitar is SO much quality and has so many tones. It sustains forever and those would string just pop.
I was really hoping this guitar would happen. Love my SE Singlecut, but I must admit I love it more now that is wears Phat Cat P90's. I know that once I play this one, it'll be the go-to axe in the stable. Thanks!
I bought brand new Se 22 Custom double cut 2016 (honey flame top) in 2016. This is beautiful guitar with very distinguish sound. I love it, this guitar will stay with me lifetime. Thank You PRS GUITARS
I took delivery of a lovely 2022 Black Gold Burst last week .
Totally breathtaking guitar in all areas looks , playability and sound and what a sound .
MANY THANKS PRS 🎸👍🏽❤️🔥
I was genuinely surprised when I saw this come by. Love that you guys are still trying to up your game in the lower-end market! The only thing that could make it better for me would be them in Faded Whale Blue and/or Trampas Green.
I am just getting back into guitar with my 15yo..I am looking to get something for him which gives us the most bang for the buck....I love these guitars...it would be my family's first PRS....but I could easily see myself following up with something "real nice". Thanks for the video...and the time you all take to make a great product.
Great job PRS. That is a great idea with great features, the top, pups, and a SE with a good fixed bridge etc. The guitar sounds great and I am looking forward to playing one in the store! Doing something new with the with the favorite materials isn’t easy.
Thanks, Jason!
love the innovation with the pickups!
Ok! Now a PRS I really want!
Finally an SE with a stoptail. Can we get an SE McCarty?
The original 2001 SE was a stop tail, mine is as good as the day I bought it!
My 2009 SE also has a stoptail and it's still the most resilient, comfortable and versatile guitar I've owned!
My SE Zach & Bernie guitars both have stoptails. I esp love my Bernie.
an SE McCarty would be really nice. I've been eyeballing the the McCarty 594 Singlecut Semi-hollow for a while now, but it's $3800. If I could get and SE version for like $1200 that was top quality I would buy it.
@@high-functioningretard311 my SE Zach has a neck similar to the McCarty but my bridge is bottomed out and still the action it too high. I miss the neck binding too.
IMO the Bernie is the closest to McCarty in playability but it's still obviously a SE.
I have an se custom 22 semi hollow with the normal stoptail, and it's the best money I have ever spent. She's never going anywhere as long as I have something to say about it. So much guitar for that price. Great work keep it up, I'm a proud PRS owner.
This is pretty cool. Next, can we please get an SE version of the Mcarty 594 Double Cut???
The SE line just keeps getting better!!!
Wilcuts guitars had the San Fran one several yrs ago in a glass case just like puals...skyline inlayed in multiple colors on the board....gorgeous
I'm 70 and have been playing on stage since 1963. I've since owned some of the finest guitars made. In about 2002 a good friend who had a guitar store in Dothan, complained that a player with my skills should be playing a PRS! Well, there weren't any used ones around then and I, a family man and poorly paid staff architect, just couldn't justify the cost of a new one, I figured that my 1971 LP Goldtop Deluxe was all I deserved.
About four years ago Greg finally sold me a 2001 PRS Custom 24, wide/thin neck, gold paint (which I'm partial to). After playing it for ten minutes I cussed myself for not listening to him in 2002. It is simply the finest guitar I have ever owned. Even my 1961 SG LP (long since sold) didn't compare. I love it so much that a year ago I bought a 2017 Custom 24 SE for a backup guitar. Unbelievable value! Now you show us THIS guitar, another SE but with a stop tail, which I also need. Mr. Smith........you've done it to me again!
PS: I originally learned about you in my copy of the wonderful The Guitar Book (by your dear friend Tom Wheeler). I remember a photo of you with one of your carved tops and thought DANG! THAT"S BEAUTIFUL!. Thanks Paul.
ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!!
stunning .
You guys are all alone making amazing guitars for a very affordable prices, very nicely done.
@PRSGuitars You caught me off guard with the SE Paul's guitar, Paul... I didn't see that one coming.
Hope to see these in Australia.
OMG... That Aqua colour is a must for me 😍
Paul sounds like the cool grandpa everyone wishes they had
I wish PRS had more SE options available for lefties.
Ha! We were lucky to even get an SE at all, Gwilym. For years I drooled for a lefty PRS, but couldn't bring myself to fork over the exorbitant amount that core & private stock lefties go for considering that they're fairly rare. I heard Paul talking at a Q&A on RUclips around this time last year, and for the first time he didn't give the stock answer of "they don't make left handed piano's, why should I make a left handed guitar" when asked about a possible left handed SE. I jumped on the LH SE before PRS decided to go back to their usual philosophy regarding lefties.
Just got one in red. Very solid and playable right off the Fed Ex truck. IMO the sound is stellar...passive pups are a great match for hi gain amp. I'll probably get shellacked for this but I like it over my preBS Tele.
Great news! The Pauls guitar is my fav model, and now there are affordable, cool looking versions! GAS
I will get it used sometime...
um, when can we expect this??? I can't wait to try one, because this sounds like what I might be looking for.
Yeah Jack! See you at NAMM next week my friend!
I'm probably going to get one but I can't decide on a color red or blue?
I LOVE MY SE !
Most versatile guitar I've ever played. Everything sounds good, from creamy jazz to metal chug. Unreal value.
Lovely guitars. Can someone explain how the intonation can be adjusted, as far as I can tell it can’t be done with this bridge. Thanks!
I really miss these color ways! Please bring them back!
Got mine arriving tomorrow... beyond excited. Pretty amazing guitar. So versatile. I have a strat and a les paul... will this replace both? Maybe just maybe....
How do you adjust intonation on it if it's a hardtail? Or did I miss something (probably!!)
Typically there's a set screw out the back against each stud to adjust tailpiece position.
im buying one.
Paul, in my humble opinion, you make the best guitars for the money. I own two SE guitars and Paul’s SE might be my third.🎸🇺🇸
Now how does this SE Paul's Guitar compare to the S2 line at the same price point?
What finger board radius does it have? Trying to find it but no website has it
I find the amber a little too yellow and not amber enough in colour.
i followed carlos from his sg and only bar chord solos in sfo..new filmore.. with the bassist swinging his head like a madman...the amp seemed to be the game changer...love looking at and fanaticizing about these axes sounding great and expressing myself ..no matter how i try and spend on every fact of the experiment..it aint hapning ...
That blue one, is mine already
When are you going to start use bridges with adjustable intonation? Also needs stainless steel frets before I would buy one.
Would be great if you put the pick-ups, switching and hardware on the SE SC245 ....
Awesome! When will it be available?
Available for order now! Contact your preferred PRS Guitars dealer and let them know you want one. Thanks Miki!
I think this might be my next guitar.
Well.. It wasn't my next guitar. Yesterday I bought SE custom 24 in Trampas Green.
I love it, and the colors are great too. Would like a forest green one! The other problem is the ce semi hollow comes out this year and I just picked up a se custom 24 in 2017, can't keep up, LOL. Great Job PRS!!!!
Just ordered an se custom 24...Do yo like yours?
@@oscarwagner4515 I have no complaints, sounds and feels great. I got the cherry burst from GC. I've had it for some time now and have only had to change the strings, neck/frets are still smooth too. I have two other guitars but I tend to go for this one when I have time to fiddle around. Hope you like yours as much.
@@kilofireb8584 thanks man,i really cant wait to play that guitar!!!
I bought the aqua colored one. Loving it.
Paul is a no-nonsense kind of guy, I like that!..I'm hoping to get one of those beauties soon...
This will go well next to my Bernie Marsden SE. The only thing I dont like is that pickup selector switch. It seems a bit to far to the back imo. I dont think its in an ideal position for someone who is playing fast and switches pickup regularly during a song and there are guitar players out there that do that. Great colours as well. I particularly like that one in the middle.
PRS did a great job on this guitar
Reminds me of the custom guitars Charlie Lobue did in the 70s on 48th street in NYC.
Questions please. How much, how heavy and when can we buy them ? please get back to me !!!!!!!
My main concern is Indonesia vs. Korea going forward. Just got a Korean SE and it is excellent but I'm not so sure about Indonesian.
Se silver sky?
Have you seen Mayers previous stuff? everything he touches turns into gold and that's what you pay for
they're called SE EG's, 2 kinds, stop tail and trem, just upgrade the pups, but I like mine stock
Have you heard about squier?
JK. It would be pretty awesome
I still chase PRS408. Its Visually appealing. The vast tones are ALL great.
Where are these made?
🔥🤘
They look beautiful to me too....!
its the Se Paul! the little brother of the famous one ;-)
How would you adjust the intonation on this guitar?
The bridge can be shifted a little to help intonation, but not the individual strings. So when you shift one side it will of course affect more than one string, so it's a compromise. I have one and it plays in tune.
I wonder if Jackie descended from the Yorkshire Higginbottoms who were well known as coming from a long line of grooms of the stool for the kings of England?
Plz do an A/B between this and the core guitar
They are the same
I have a 2018 PRS SE Zach Myers. The most brilliant intelligent bridge/wraparound stop tailpiece I think was ever invented!! The only problem with it, is that it looks like some serious heavy metal machine. It's called Stealth. Quilted maple top, semi hollow matte grey and black. I'm a blues player and would have preferred the Trampas Green version. But I'm an American, living in Germany and I travel a lot. The green version as well as most PRS models regardless of price, are still using rosewood fretboards. This makes life stupid difficult. At least the Stealth grey has an ebony fretboard. My other traveling guitar is an acoustic by PRS, an SE T60E. Besides being the most beautiful looking and sounding acoustic for the money, again it has an ebony fretboard and bridge. Customs, no problem regardless of country. I almost got my Takamine MIJ acoustic from 2012 seized in Berlin, because my travel permit had expired. I got through because CITES had just been instituted and everyone was still a bit unsure of how things were going to be dealt with. But CITES isn't going away. We need to move away from the rosewood. There are so many other options available now. At least give us the option even at a higher price. "Brazilian Cherry" for instance, is neither Brazilian or cherry. It's Locust tree. Straight tight grain, cheap and very stable. Some of the G&L models are using this instead of rosewood or ebony. My Comanche has a Locust fretboard on it. Works great. Sounds great. Smoother than rosewood, not quite as smooth as maple, but you still get that dark wood. Anyway, off my soapbox. I'll check out the new Paul's guitar in the SE lineup. If it's a great guitar like the Zach Myers and my T60E is, and it doesn't have a drop of rosewood on it, I;ll take two. Blue and Yellow please!! Otherwise, sorry. I can't deal with the headaches of the road and customs on top of it. Just not worth it. Bob in Germany
Will these be manufactured in Korea or Indonesia?
Struggling to decide between this guitar and the PRS SE 35th Anniversary C24
Wish they would make a custom 2408 in that blue colour it's gorgeous
It looks awesome, but it should come with S2 type locking tuners.
wiloman82 I agree
Ok, so it can’t be long till we get a SilverSky SE?
Why? Just save for the American made silver sky, would you be as happy with an se version with all the unique parts taken off it. You can always "charge it" and get what you really want.
Because they have the SE range? They might as well add a simple bolt-on guitar to it.
BTW, I am sure they will do that anyway someday.
@@kilofireb8584 "Just save for the American made silver sky" Or just get a Strat :D
Its 2023,, can you please bring into the line up a flames red top model like in this video?
😍😍😍
Sweet! I just got an aqua!
I'm watching this in half speed and FUCKING DYING
The price is getting around the S2 line. Interesting. I like the guitar though.
That's my concern. While I do love them, they are now matching the S2 line at $999. So I'm actually curious as far as which one PRS conciderss the better guitar between the two, since they share the same price.
What neck profile?
If I'm not mistaken, the Brian Ewald demo says it's a fat wide.
Why not a S2 PG?
Why the wraptail bridges?
those bridges are fantastic!!!! best wraptail in town imo!
TPL many argue they help with sustain resonance, it’s a great design. The traditional problem with them is intonation but the prs model is compensated so all good
@@justingarcia7722 the problem I have with wraptails of course is the intonation problem and the problem with wraptails collapsing inwards
@@justingarcia7722 I prefer a string through, strat trem and or a stop tail
PRS Dragon SE please!!
9 to 42 ?
My SE PaulsGuitar arrived today, the frets above the 12th fret have rusty spots (!) and it has a dent at the side out of the box. Is that your PRS QC? ....I am not amused....
SE line, import is always import.
Best guitar for the money no doubt
Dear Paul, give left handed people a chance to have same core or signatures under the same price as right handed models. Specially stop tailed guitars of maccarty and mark tremonty.
#equalrightsforleftyguitars across the board, from now on!
Agreed
Amen
Sweet! I've been Pauling SE's for years. Some duncans, variable resistors and Ibanez split/series/parallel 3 way switch circuit and you're good to go.
solid colors and plain tops would also be cool! veneers are slowly killing the appeal of Flame tops, just watch, there is gonna be a shift soon MMW.
6:40 why though? World Music CAN do carved tops just like regular USA made PRS.
They may well be able to do a deeper carve - but that uses more wood takes more time to carve more away etc that adds more to the cost...
no they cant, that lil lip carve around the perimeter of a US PRS is hand sanded and takes forever.
They have to make a visual distinction to separate the price point tiers. It's not so much a technical / manufacturing thing but more a marketing thing.
@@ethancheng1595 same was said about the bird inlays.
The USA carve isn’t comfortable on your forearm anyway :)
So do these diminish the value of my American Paul's Guitar?
When Paul is talking about the 408 pickups and the narrower humbuckers on this guitar, it seems so odd: You STILL have to explain the benefits of mini-humbuckers to people, as if they were a new product, even though they've been around for nearly as long as their full-size big brothers.
They're great stuff, offering a beautiful sound all their own, but have always been viewed in the market as somehow being a compromise product. They have to be reintroduced every time.
Is this Paul’s SE from Indonesia or Korea?
Indonesia. And it will cost a whopping $1000.
John Holmes , I had a Tremonti Custom SE made in Korea. Perfect guitar. I tried a Custom 24 made in Indonesia....a lot of finishing issues. I hope thei improved
@@fredepstein Yes I hope so.
yessss an se without tremolo bar, definitely buying it!
edit: waaait 1000$????
Salvador dude brass inserts and 408 style pickups? I’d say a grand is a little low for all these features, I call the blue one!
@@dustydreams5940 at that price u can buy a sbmm majesty, ibanez prestige, fender american, used lp, etc...
Salvador I agree, at this price might as well save a bit more and grab an S2, a Maryland made guitar.
@@alfredomedina9655 This SE is closer to a core model than an S2 is
Salvador Then buy those instead.
The day PRS will make maple fretboards and jescar stainless steel frets, ok, I’ll buy one.
Innovation again!
I think it would be cool in some custom solid colors.
White or cream pickup rings would be great
I wonder if you could put locking tuners on it - then one would be hard pressed not to buy it.
Time for a john Mayer se
