This video pretty much sums up why gamesense barely matters nowadays. The only skill level that matters is speed as you said. I remember partying with someone who was a master 2 who just started to play the game a month ago. He said he was still using 2 fingers since he felt no need to adapt to using claw because all he had to do was stand still around some angle and wait for the players to push up lol. This also with the fact that he had a 120hz refresh rate made him get easy kills most of the time.
Other game got gyro (arm assist and wrist aim) even casual can play without aim assist on gyro but we don't feel aim assist much so Aim assist+ gyro is useless ( extremely low gyro u feel aa ) so we gyro don't complain about AA, so if the game has insane aim assist meta better to play no gyro because human aim cant win computer aim. Like gyro got mouse-like tracking aim but devs add insane rotational aim assist and noobs think gyro only useful for recoil but devs add insane aim assist recoil reduction. AIM ASSIST op killed apex mobile. Pubg mobile got lucky low aim assist and no aim assist on custom room and tdm & aa only activate when you fire. Also, aa give too many advantages to ios players than android, bigger display like ipad get more advantage and low ping gets the advantage which multiple by aa. Adv Movement players dont enjoy because of aim assist, simple movements like strafe become useless. Aim assist issues can be fixed by mouse-like input called gyro aim. By default gyro op at tracking aim but by adding acceleration + gyro setting options you can make gyro to mouse-like flick aim + easy to learn for casual, would be fire if the game decreased aim assist as rank increases, devs can't give same op aim assist for nub to pro. Look thumbs also take time to learn like gyro that's why they give you aim assist. Gyro is nature so u learn faster even elders can learn ez ruclips.net/video/CCD8vbGzbmM/видео.html eg. i was top ten on shotguns leaderboard firing range on apex with gyro but my device gyro stop working so i was force learn without gyro and it took me 3days to break my own score. How the f i am doing it. Aa is no skill. Its not skill issues i am really good at gyro, Not 100% sure i m probably, 1st to reach aim champ rank on android mobile.100+ on every category without cheating no fov changes and without sens charges. Proof Gyro aim is only op without aim assist no skill issues like thumb only players need aim assist not real skill. Aa created more issues than it fix

I have not extensively played the current c-ops on a phone and I could imagine that the new and improved viewmodel has made it a lot better, but I can also imagine that you would have a hard time playing maps like legacy or canals on a phone, because big parts of them rely on pixel peeks that I even have problems with on an iPad.
@@PHiNiX its not too hard as you think it is, if you have a good phone with high pixel density, you’d have an actual advantage but yes sometimes it gets hard to play
This video is incredible. You basically summed up not only the problem with aim assist, but the problem with the game in general. Or actually - the devs behind it. I came from playing CSP, and I was following Critical ops since the closed alpha, I was really excited for the idea of a GOOD CSGO style game in mobile (that's the reason I played CSP to being with). And it turned up really ok at the time, and it seemed like the devs were to take the game in a good direction. But here comes the BUT. The devs just don't seem to have a deep understanding of what makes a competitive game competitive. I swear, I don't think the devs made half of the research you made in this video alone. I jumped back into critical ops a month ago after a couple years of not playing it (since 2017 it think), and I actually enjoy it as much as I used to back in the day. The ranked, the custom games, it's a great time. And I should really credit CFE for it. The game IS fun. But it just seems like the devs don't put as much love into the game as the players do, which is the reason OG players left in the first place, as you also stated in the video. And to this day, this game just feels like it has so much potential, but no one is there to fullfil it. The game just doesn't feel complete even after all of these years. I genuinely think CFE should reboot the IP with developers who really has an understanding in the scene, similar to how VALORANT did with their game (they took former CSGO pros and devs to develop their take on it). I subbed and liked, please upload more content like this, it's SUPER underrated!
My favorite aspect of this video is the skill ceiling. And I have to give respect to CF for trying to add crosshair smoothing because while it may or may not have increased the skill ceiling it would have at least made the skill gap between a plat and a comp player much higher, I think aim assist and the game being too easy makes it way too simple for a mindless drone to just hold down shoot and aim in my general direction and probably kill me by spraying and praying. However the community clearly wasn't ready for something like this, which I understand from a casual perspective why people don't enjoy crosshair smoothing.
yea, crosshair smoothing could have done A LOT to fix the game. Unfortunately from the dev side, there was a lack of communication as to what it actually did and through what rules it operated, so most people obviously just assumed that it was random (which makes the hate for it somewhat understandable). From the community side it needs to be said that a fraction of the comp scene would be mentally and mechanically capable of adjusting their playstyle to those changes, mainly because "their playstyle" isn't something that they came up with, but something that they inherited from the previous generation of comp players. I think going through with those changes would have killed the comp scene entirely, but looking at the current state of it, one could argue that this probably wouldn't even have been a bad thing.
Let me preface this by saying Phinix I admire your pasts works and have been aware of your efforts for a while. I remember your old Twitter strings where you would go on about the game and how to improve it. I believe that you have the game's best interest at heart however I must disagree with your overall point. I have decided to refrain from commenting on your views on the competitive scene as I find it harder to explain via text and view it as a completely different 'argument' (I may have been a bit wordy I am running on no sleep.) I invite you to challenge my views and converse. The current state of the competitive gaming scene is centred on a game's aim to assist. While some argue that aim assist should be removed from the gaming scene, this would be a huge mistake and would only hurt the competitive players who rely on it daily. Not only does aim assist improve one's aiming ability and accuracy, allowing those of all skill levels to have a chance in the competition, but it also provides access to players who do not have the time to put in the hours of aim practice it would take to be proficient without it. Furthermore, its removal would cause a huge divide in the gaming community, leaving a gap between those who can afford the luxury of hours of aim practice and those who can't.
Aim assist is an essential aspect of modern shooter games as it helps to correct undesired player movement as well as minimize the skill gap between seasoned pros and casuals. Removing aim assist in these games would cause some serious issues for the casual player base. Aim assist provides essential affordances for casual gamers, allowing them better performance with weaker skills, leading to a higher sense of satisfaction. Removal of aim assist would result in a much higher skill gap which would encourage casual players to put in more effort to keep up, ultimately leading to a decrease in their engagement and satisfaction. Therefore, if aim assist is removed, then we will likely see a rapid decrease in the casual players who are necessary to sustain a healthier competitive scene overall. In conclusion, aim assist should not be removed as it would harm the casual shooter game scene.
However, I do agree although aim assist can be beneficial to players when used in moderation, it can be abused and exploited to create an imbalance in a gaming competition. But we should rather make sure that aim assist is utilized responsibly and thoughtfully in turn reworking it instead of completely removing it.
I understand your point that there is a desire for a higher skill scene the other factors have to be considered in regards to the overall impact. The removal of aim assist would guarantee a reduced player base in regards to casual players this in turn would affect the already diminishing viewer base. As a result, sponsors are less likely to invest and sponsor tournaments and the game itself leading to a never-ending cycle,
In conclusion, aiming assist should not be removed as it is an integral part of the competitive scene and its removal can harm the competitive scene. Aiming assist gives players the ability to hit their shots consistently and therefore enhances their overall performance. Aiming assist also works to level the playing field, since it is available to all players regardless of their shooting abilities. Without aiming to assist in the competitive scene, the competition would be much less interesting and exciting. Finally, aiming assist also helps to reduce the skill gap between high and low elo players and encourages healthier, more competitive games. Therefore, it is clear that the removal of aim assist would hurt the competitive scene, and it must remain in place to ensure an enjoyable and fair experience.
@@PHiNiX I would’ve made a video where I counter argued your points however I find that too time consuming and not really necessary as both points have an abundance of reasons.
Here’s a solution: have the game disable aim assist in ranked games + add a aim assist toggle for custom games This allows casual players to enjoy their quick defuse or other quick-esq game modes while allowing the serious players battle it out in tournaments and ranked
Absolutely brilliant video, always excited to see a Phinix video after all the regurgitated shit called "highlights". What really bothers me with C-OPS is that it's a competitive game by nature and you can't debate that, yet the game is catering to the casual players that'll play ultimately a few hours and uninstall, that's just how mobile games are.
Thanks for the kind words. Yea, I feel like few mobile games have figured out a recipe, to design a game to be profitable through a casual audience, but without ruining it for their own comp scene in the process. I feel like some MOBAs on mobile are getting close to it, but looking at how PC and Console Call of Duty is facing similar problems I am not particularly hopeful for that to happen any time soon. Obviously, mobile gaming has a bright future, even looking at just the games announced for next year and chances are that at least one of them gets it right by accident.
Whoever disagrees w this vid is legit a clown, aa fucks the whole game and makes casuals get to heights they shouldn't be at all, you deserve more subs underrated af
In 2018 the game itself was very good in various things , many teams were focusing on team stats , nading styles , learning maps , but not it's just about who have better aim and who can sound better , i was originally a standoff 2 player and standoff 2 is a lot better in cops in terms of character movement , aiming, maps and mostly it's aim assist makes a really less difference , it took me more than 3 years to achieve, the legend rank in so2 but in critical ops it took me hardly 2-3 months to reach master while just playing solo most of the time . Standoff 2 skill difference between players is a lot huge , like a master play will struggle against the Elite player or a good team , the gold and pheonix player of So2 will play a lot better than Cops master players.
Phinix i hope you read me out. Probably also the biggest problem rn is that the devs are basically like polititians.. far away not really taking apart of the community and all we get to see of them is once every 1-2 months a 3 minute developer update video that features add for skins and then seemingly completely random changes that literally no one asked for. (Like 1.19 new fov, nobody asked for a new fov, the game had other problems but those werent fixed, instead out of nowhere they came up with a new fov that literally NO ONE liked) I see that most of the updates are NOT random and they have their reason but the devs just bring them out and NEVER explain why they did it. For examply 1.33 Nobody asked to nerf all guns and add heavy cevlar and i know that 1.33 had lots of good work in it and many things made sense BUT IT NEVER GOT COMMUNICATED TO THE PLAYERS all the players felt was suddently a new update that threw their years old musclememory out the window because the devs NEVER explained the reason and function behind 1.33 they just said "some minor meta changes" and because people couldnt play it they all hated it. Devs need to be a LOT more active on yt for example to make well edited 10-15 minute videos explaining the full reason behind a seemingly "random update" People want answeres but never get them. If it were not for you, not even i would have understood 1.33
I really enjoyed ur vid , like the fact that u give us facts and Ur own way of view aswel. I pretty much agreed with everything that u said, even tho I'm a newgen player myself I won't comepletely understand where u coming from cuz I haven't experienced what was the og c ops, but 1 thing I understand is that game is too easy now and practically is all aim assist that does the work for u . Once again really enjoyed ur vid and seeking to see more from u in future 🙌🏻♥️.
Thank you for the kind words and glad that you enjoyed the video. Please never take the slander against newgens personal It is just a buzzword for all the overconfident little pricks that just show up and feel like they own the place simply because nobody challenges them now. Seeing someone that never experienced the old game talk in a respectful and understanding way is pretty refreshing and a more than welcome change nowadays, so thank you for being this way.
Bro aim assist is a good thing. There is no skill gap between any1 U just need to understand the mechanics. I can leave the game and comeback after a year and still beat people that are playing daily only cause ik how the game works.
Nice video 👌. But it's a waste spending hours on editing a 40 minute long video. The devs will never care for the game. Aim assist is one issue. The movement, other bugs and much more needs to change for the game to be good again. Best to leave it dead .
Well, I have a passion for the game, because it is what brought me to mobile gaming and to creating content. I also met a ton of wonderful people through this game and in a way I don't want to look back at C-Ops at some point and have the feeling that I could have helped to save it, but just didn't try to do it.
@@PHiNiX Aim assist right now should still be reduced more. Also the movement speed is still pretty bad. They need to change these factors to improve the quality of the game.
@@sabz2518 they tried to "nerf" aim assist by increasing bullet spread while shooting while moving, basically spray and pray and get lucky head like that but can they just remove aa alr.
I mean the whole concept of c-ops is to not shoot while moving and to kill people with as few bullets as humanly possible. Both of these things have been the foundation of the Counter Strike franchise for 2 decades now and I don't see how that could possibly be described as "spray and pray"
@@PHiNiX i mean i know u close to devs and im pretty sure u send this type of thing to them but usually what are their response?.Maybe you should link this video and see how their react because we need big changes asap no to mention the nsfw sexy woman dancing ads that i have seen on heat map mid section,no way they advertising that now an app where usually adult content take place(bigo live)....the developer probably didn't even know about it...
yea I just figured as an individual, I just feel like its common sense to do something like that. the only people who don't think to slowly turn it down either don't care to get better or haven't thought of it @@PHiNiX
well, knowing how powerful aim assist is, it makes sense that nobody wants to turn it down. I do it for warming up mainly, I play 0 Aim Assist lobbies with friends sometimes and I have had times where I played ranked on half aim assist. In the grand scheme of things tho, you are just making it harder on yourself. Getting destroyed by people who use aim assist wont make you better and I have my doubts on whether there is even a "getting better" in c-ops, at least from a certain point onwards. i personally find it important to see the distinction in my own gameplay, of how good I am with and how good I am without Aim Assist. Aim Assist in c-ops doesnt have a weakness tho, so I dont see a point in playing ranked fully without it long term. Warmup and public matches sure, but in ranked you are just signing up to enjoy playing less, if you put yourself on that kind of disadvantage.
Well talking off aim assist and going without it goes back to the raw way of aiming and by doing that and doing certain routines your skill can surpass a person with aim assist, because while having aim assist is good it keeps you from getting any better like u said in the book, all this and assuming the player even cares about getting better at the game @@PHiNiX
well, there is only a very select few situations where aim assist provably makes you "worse" and that is when multiple enemies are next to each other. in c-ops tho, because recoil control and managing your accuracy is as trivial as it is, you are very unlikely to survive for too long in a situation like that anyway.. I see no benefit in getting rid of aim assist entirely for yourself as a player. practicing without it sure helps, but you dont actually practice your aim that much while playing ranked anyways. Say we have a 2 minute round in ranked every single time and of that round we spend at max 5 seconds actually aiming at enemies, the other 1.55 is just "wasted" holding angles or moving around. With that ratio, your 30 minute ranked game is actually only really giving you about 75 seconds of "aiming" Making half an hour of experience less enjoyable, for 75 seconds worth of actual benefit is just pretty stupid. If you play 15 Minutes of TDM, you have probably done a similar amount of actual aiming as a whole day of playing ranked..
I agree that codm's aim assist is even dumber, but saying that c-ops is balanced, just because another company has managed to fuck it up even more is like saying Stalin was a great guy because Hitler existed.

(Like 1.19 new fov, nobody asked for a new fov, the game had other problems but those werent fixed, instead out of nowhere they came up with a new fov that literally NO ONE liked)
I see that most of the updates are NOT random and they have their reason but the devs just bring them out and NEVER explain why they did it.
For examply 1.33
Nobody asked to nerf all guns and add heavy cevlar and i know that 1.33 had lots of good work in it and many things made sense BUT
IT NEVER GOT COMMUNICATED TO THE PLAYERS
all the players felt was suddently a new update that threw their years old musclememory out the window because the devs NEVER explained the reason and function behind 1.33 they just said "some minor meta changes" and because people couldnt play it they all hated it.
Devs need to be a LOT more active on yt for example to make well edited 10-15 minute videos explaining the full reason behind a seemingly "random update"
People want answeres but never get them.
Please never take the slander against newgens personal
It is just a buzzword for all the overconfident little pricks that just show up and feel like they own the place simply because nobody challenges them now.
Seeing someone that never experienced the old game talk in a respectful and understanding way is pretty refreshing and a more than welcome change nowadays, so thank you for being this way.
9:10 is the funniest shit ive ever saw lmao
shit like that is why the devs don't listen to the community
I hope the changes of Guns recoil and animation goes back to 1.32 but with the same aim assist and maps now
it is basically impossible to "go back", so that is likely not going to happen

How do u make these videos so good bro. I cant believe u get these low views ..
Bro aim assist is a good thing. There is no skill gap between any1 U just need to understand the mechanics. I can leave the game and comeback after a year and still beat people that are playing daily only cause ik how the game works.
There’s definitely skill gaps with aim and gamesense.
Thank you for describing the exact problem with Aim Assist.
Glad you understood the Video.
What about if a player decides to slowing turn the aim assist down and practicing it in each stage then changing it 🤓
well, they can obviously do that, but that isnt gonna turn down anyone else's obviously
yea I just figured as an individual, I just feel like its common sense to do something like that. the only people who don't think to slowly turn it down either don't care to get better or haven't thought of it @@PHiNiX
well, knowing how powerful aim assist is, it makes sense that nobody wants to turn it down.
With that ratio, your 30 minute ranked game is actually only really giving you about 75 seconds of "aiming"
Making half an hour of experience less enjoyable, for 75 seconds worth of actual benefit is just pretty stupid.
If you play 15 Minutes of TDM, you have probably done a similar amount of actual aiming as a whole day of playing ranked..
👌
bro u took like so long to make this video and its too long for me to watch in one sitting
unfortunate
whaR?
“C ops aim assist is too strong” bro have you seen codm’s aim assists. That shit makes me laugh cause of the sheer aimlockness it gives
I agree that codm's aim assist is even dumber, but saying that c-ops is balanced, just because another company has managed to fuck it up even more is like saying Stalin was a great guy because Hitler existed.
Game dead 👌
never ;)
