      I don't think it is thought...the Avanti might be a touch faster. BELIEVE ME, not trying to talk you OUT of the Sirius, but the Avanti might edge this one out in a head to head.
      I'd like to do the Avanti, but none of my partners want to send one - they say they sell too well anyway ;(....

    Wow that Aircraft is so amazing! Man I want one sooooo bad. Ever since that first teaser trailer they put out I was like "Now that's what I want! 80mm! Flaps! 6s! And lights!" 😂 Great flyin as always, Brian!
    I've honestly been in a funk here lately. Maybe because I don't get to fly as much, but I've wrecked 2 EDF's the last 2 times I went flyin.. With that being said, I'll be doing maidens with the Dynam fw-190 and TurboJet sometime this week lol hopefully all goes well!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад +2

      Good luck. Crashing sucks, but you gotta get back in the saddle. If you want to take a break form EDF's, I get it. I would encourage you to always bring an "easy" plane with you when you go fly, and FLY it, even if you crashed before you pack up and head home. It'll help your brain to have a "good time" at the end of your flights. This will help reinforce that you LOVE it, even when you have a bad crash, or a poor landing, or whatever it was that was less than desirable. The only caveat to this is if it's too dark, cold, windy, or batteries are too dead ;)

    Do you have a video or can you make a video explaining all the Spektrum receivers and there features?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад

      No, I don't, and not planning on making one either. Here why...We have a hard enough time keeping audience for our Radio Setup parts of the videos, but we keep doing it because people say they watch and it's the DIFFERENCE between flying and not.
      Since they're all setup with Forward Programming now-a-days, it's super easy! First, I show the FULL setup on every PLUG and FLY (PNF or PNP) plane we review, so you can see WHAT Rx we picked and I talk about WHY in every video. We have THOUSANDS of videos...this might keep you busy until you refine your picks to what I suggest anyway ;)
      If you want Spektrum stuff there's a few things to consider...
      Do you want SAFE/AS3X? If so...here's what you get...
      AR630 bit.ly/3lh5iqD - Best option for a tight spot, but ONLY has internal antenna...
      AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c - With less telemetry, unless you're going to use an Avian ESC...then you can get most of it anyway. This one has an external antenna. I use this one MOST of the time.
      AR637T bit.ly/3pW3u86 - More expensive, but has VARIO and more telemetry features.
      AR8360T bit.ly/3dKg4n6 - 8 channels now, and the same...has VARIO and more telemetry features.
      IF you DON'T need or want SAFE/AS3X, then get these...
      AR410 bit.ly/2PTr1so - Very simple 4 channel AIR Rx...NO AS3X or SAFE....internal antenna
      AR620 bit.ly/2QUlyCd - Very simple 6 channel AIR Rx...NO AS3X or SAFE....internal antenna
      AR6610T bit.ly/33SYkA0 - More telemetry WITHOUT SAFE/AS3X.
      Hope this helps you narrow the search. Honestly, I'd keep a single AR631 sitting around for your "next" plane, and otherwise, I'd just order when you get the plane. If money is tight, then I'd get the AR630...but for $5, I want the external antenna.
      Any more specifics, I'll try to answer for you when you ask. Thanks!

    All these 6-pack 80-90mm with gear,flaps, lights will bite you at slow speed. The best one I ownedwas the original Habu…fixed gear, no flaps, no lights and just a 4s. Horizon has one now that is the STS version.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад

      This one WILL make you look like a flying genius, until you get elevator washed out in a tight turn, then you'll go from hero to zero in about 3/10 of a second - LOL ;)

      @@BrianPhillipsRC Don’t need to. Lots of experience with some of Freewings. Anything less that 3/4 power all the time….ouch! I fly at 5,000’ which is closer to 6,800 on a hot day. It is literally full power from TO to TD. And as soon as you get any power decay….land.

      I think there are many good choices. I can list a few here...
      A10 bit.ly/2P1i286 (good pick for #2)
      F15 bit.ly/30RrnlG (good pick for #2)
      F16 bit.ly/3bUUxXv (probably stick with the 70mm... 80mm would be too hard)
      F18 bit.ly/3bTssQa (probably too hard for EDF #2)
      Habu bit.ly/38Kilv1 (great 1st EDF)
      Su30 bit.ly/3qUvjN5 (definitely not good for #2 - way too crazy)
      Viper bit.ly/3eLqcMX (good pick for #2)

    Hi Brian
    I'm shopping for my first EDF , I'd rate my flying experience at intermediate -Advanced.. my biggest issue is the size of our flying field and surrounding available airspace. We have a 200' mat runway ( North -South) bordered by grass that can be a bit long for small retracts. Large retracts, like on my 1500mm FMS P47, roll through the grass just fine. So... with all the edf jets that you've flown.. which one do you feel would fit these issues best . Thanks Mike

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад +1

      90mm Viper Jet, or possibly XFly Sirius, or the FMS Futura...but they will all still be tough to land on a 200 foot runway ;)
