The particle "ni" is used to indicate the place where a thing(s) or a person(s) is(or are) present and to mark one's goal or destination. "De" is used to indicate the place where an action occurs. In short, "ni" casts the sight upon a place, while "de" upon an action. In your example of replacing "de" with "ni", it wouldn't really make sense. But you were close!
+marijke313 same here :D i watch anime since 2013 and i've learned a lot :) so when i watch anime with no subs/dubs i understand a little,what are they saying :)
VERY good classes indeed, incredibly well prepared. I'm learning so fast, at least about the structure of the language, I think the method you use deserves to be imitated.
im learning and remembering more japanese in 3 days than i did german last year for 2 years in high school lol passion for learning is real lmao i suddenly have this ability to remember everything in a flash
Because you like it. It is the most important thing to love the language. After that, you are motivated, then you only need a good teacher and patience and keep learning.
I've been studying Japanese half of a year and because of covid19 i stopped and now it been almost 2 yeasr and I had forgot most of it and now I come and watch her video she's a great teacher and easy to understand just like how I have studied in school again
Wow! This is such an amazing tutorial! After watching the first 6 videos, I felt like "Wow! I can go to Japan now!" but then, I know I still have lots of things to learn. Domo arigato gozaimasu!
I'm taking an evening class at my university to learn Japanese, and these videos are perfect for revising the work we have been issued! Excellent teaching!
Compliment for Japan society..... In 6 lessons I learned 10 times more Japanese than in other videos.... And It makes sense.. besides, I am Lithuanian, so it is very easy to pronounce these words, and particles which are analog for changing endings in lithuanian words as well.... Now Japanese is not a trouble for me. ども ありがとう ございます。びでお で せんせい わ すごい !!!!!!
These are actually great as a previous-self teaching student. I learnt the language's structure and composition inside and out (at least to a beginner's standard, up to topics like -teiru, -teiku, 'must/must not', conditionals, 'te mo ii', that sort of stuff) but I could never (and still can't) reliably converse in the language since I spent too much time on grammar. These videos are great since they teach beginners actual vocabulary to use, plus the MUCH EASIER -masu form of verbs as opposed to the regular dictionary form of verbs. One thing I would love to see as a non-beginner watching your videos is Kanji for the words/sentences too. I feel like it's easier to understand the meaning of words as you progress into the intermediate territory and start to know what certain Kanji mean, as well as easier to break apart a sentence into its separate parts. But I get that this comment will make no difference now since these videos were made 5 years ago lol
arigatou! I've been struggling in my japanese class to keep up - but after watching 3 of your videos i feel that I understand what I've been trying to learn much better now! thankyou!
I never thought to find a japanese course like this. You guys are amazing, I've learnt and I'm learning more everyday of this language I really like. Domo Arigato !!Greetings from Port Chester, New York !!
It's easy! benkyou, shigoto, kaigi, kainomo, jogingu, pati, and tenisu are all nouns, and i.e. kainomo o shimasu literally means "doing shopping" or tenisu o shimase means "doing tennis. tabemasu, nomimasu, mimasu, and kikimasu are verbs. and you don't "do eat" you just eat! :) I hope it helped :)
Sensei is so good in teaching! Her style is very effective and I was able to understand how to construct sentences better that just knowing the words itself. Thank you Sensei! I feel motivated to learn more Japanese. I try to watch 5 episodes per day, and listen to it repeatedly. Then for breaks, I watch more anime, and listen to Japanese songs to try and catch up on the pronunciation. So far I think I'm doing pretty well after several failed attempts to learn, i think this one really works on me :)
I like that in your lessons you spend a lot of time on the grammar and concepts that can be used as building blocks. This has been the best way for me to learn most efficiently. Also, you are a good teacher. Thank you for all your great lessons.
Think of に as "to" and で as "at". So in the above video, it's all examples of "I did (activity) at school/park/office". But if you watch video 5 (the previous lesson) she teaches the use of -ni when you want to say "I go/went to (place) for (activity)" .Hope that helps.
