Thanks for your review. I liked the opening and mid development of this fragrance but really struggled with the dry down. My go to sandalwood is Santal Majescule by Serge Lutan. About the natural and synthetic argument, I support what Frederic Malle said “creative perfumery started when synthetic molecules were invented and used”. Rose essence as an example is a mixture of many aroma chemicals and developing a fully naturally derived fragrance is like writing a book with pre-made sentences. With synthetic molecules perfumers can really fine tune their creations and go beyond what is possible with only natural ingredients.
Awesome to hear from you @A D and really appreciate your comments and adding to this conversation. It's clear that I'm going to follow this episode up with a conversation on synthetics and the role that they play in perfumery....thank you mate, for sharing👊
This is a brilliant fragrance when paired with Falcon Leather! I sprayed both of them on my arm one night before I headed to sleep cause I usually test out fragrances that way and the next morning when I woke up, they both smelt amazing and they lasted through the night. Both of them together are beautiful! Great video as per usual, Marcelo! 😄
I need to test this layering combo Vera....I don't have Falcon Leather (yet), this is pretty punchy for me but I do like the idea of layering like you mentioned. These are really good fragrance's and find incredible longevity from them....always good to hear from you Vera👊🏽
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Always great to hear from you too Marcelo! Take things easy! But yes, can't wait to see what I can bring over on my flight with me to Melbourne so I can share some fragrances I have with you guys too! I'll have to read up on the regulations and all too!
My recommendation is don’t bring any perfume! 👍👍👍I love this brand and what he is doing and how he work around a note. I love encens suave, rose radical, santal austral and falcon leather. I need to try more of the brand
Would love to see more reviews on Matier Premiere. I have Encens Suave and Parisian Musc so far but i have tried them all and i think only French Flower was the one I wouldn’t buy. However it was off a strip so may try again on skin. Great video as always
Strongly recommend this House to you Adz....the perfumer Aurelian is really incredible. The entire collection is impressive. I would recommend to you Radical Rose; this is the prize in the House
I picked up a Materie Premiere discovery set on my recent trip to Milan (thanks again for the wonderful video!) and currently working my way through it. Santal Austral is next, so far I've been just floored by Encens Suave and Radical Rose. Gorgeous perfumery!

Wow, just received the samples from the Matiere Premiere range and this one is gorgeous. I agree that organic natural materials are the best, we also eat as many organic foods as possible at home and would like the same with fragrance. Even the box sent by Matiere Premiere had the name / address handwritten and packed carefully, to me that already is an indication of the love and quality that goes into their products. Almost all the perfumes I have so far are a blend of a lot of different smells, so did not expect that one central ingredient would smell this good.
How incredible are these perfumes! They are 'hand touched' in their preparation and Aurelian mentions that he creates only to what the yield gives when it comes to his Radical Rose....(just like a vineyard, you only bottle what the vine gives) he doesn't compensate with Roses from anywhere else. This is true attention to detail and love of the craft. I'll be curious to know which are your stand outs Sem....always good to hear from you homie👊🏽
I have a hard time with Santal 33 too. I know that it's a popular fragrance and it does get a lot of love; I just find that it's too exaggerated with that Sandalwood note. There is a brightness with Santal Austral without ever loosing it's core woodiness and subtle creaminess in the fragrance. I'd be interested in your thoughts Juan once you get a chance to test this one out...good to hear from you homie👊🏽
The creme de la creme of Sandalwood is the Mysore one. The others that most perfumes use is Austalian, Indonesian , New Caledonia. They dont have the power and richness that Mysore has.
Yep, I've heard the same thing Porous. It's a note in fragrance that is becoming much harder to obtain though. Any recommendations on a good fragrance that the Mysore Sandalwood is pronounced? Would love to test this out....great to hear from you👊🏽

One thing about using natural materials is that they, unfortunately, sometimes cause allergies. I heard Aaron Terence Hughes sometimes talk about it in his review videos, where companies oftentimes have to reformulate to an aroma chemical that "mimics" the natural oil, but is allergen-free...

Ok now this is weird. That scene in Blade Runner actually was my inspiration to get Xerjoff Richwood. I know, I know there's no connection but coincidence is amusing.
I love the connection to blade runner… Clearly that scene created the right impact (imagine a world where a common piece of wood is deemed as precious and highly valued!😥)… So yeah I can understand the feeling of wanting to buy a fragrance that celebrates The beauty of a rich Woody scent (which by the way is one of my favourite in Xerjoff collection) Great to hear from you@WireHedd💫
I know it's a crime!!!😰 We don't have it available here in Australia. I'm not a blind buyer, so it's test only for me. But yes, I've heard many great things about these fragrance's...in time I know that I'll own some of these too. Great to hear from you Mike👊🏽
