Even though it doesn't make a lot of sense to spend money to upgrade this level of wheel, I love seeing mods to see what's possible.
a lot of people get these used for $100. The $36 mod greatly improves the feel. Though do the brake pedal first!
I just bought i cuz my old housing broke
@@TheOfficialOriginalChadjust got a g923 for 220$
I use my g29 as revenge tool , when my neighbours watch the TV to loud i go hearthquack mod(dirt 2.0 and ac with mod is my fav)
I usually just fire up my amp and play some rock music with the subwoofer going like woof woof.
I recomend black/death metal.
Enjoy the exorcism orcthey moving out.
Thanks for the upload ill be picking one up for my 923 as its insane how loud this wheel is. Every game i reduce the road feel to almost nothing to help with it, even curbs on most tracks get the thing sounding like a jackhammer.
I think its good for it to be loud more immersion, i made a VIDEO on this wheel where add more GREASE on the cog mechanism it made it somewhat silent its on my utube chanel have a look and let me know what you think of the FIX
Taking your comment on the overall effect on old wheels vs new, Danny one could say your wheel will now hold its "feel" characteristics as you sense it, longer, perhaps even longer than the design life of the wheel. So, as an upgrade I still believe it is a good one to have on a new wheel.
My used wheel is in right now on its way to me. When I first use it I will be looking for wear issues and will keep this mod in mind. For Aussies interested in this mod this plate is AU$74 including shipping as at June, 2024.
Je ne pense pas que cette pièce soit réellement prévu pour réduire les sons de claquement mais plutôt pour remplacer en cas de casse , par une pièces plus rigide et de meilleurs qualité , qui rend le volant plus agréable a utiliser
In theory because this stiffens the internal structure this could benfit the trueforce haptics in the wheel as now there is less internal flex the trueforce vibrations might be felt more
G25 is quiet, it has better - two gears and spring mechanism - compensation of noise making from loose gears. If you want quiet, make gaps between gears teeth smaller by mounting them closer to each other .
G29 have helical gears which make no noise at all. All the noise is from electric motors shaft hitting plastics stoppers. This is caused by helical gears, they pull or push shafts. Noise in this construction can only be eliminated if Logitech used herringbone gears. I guess that plastic gears could not handle torque..
Watching videos on G series mods while I'm still using a reliable stock Logitech Driving Force GT. I wonder if any of this applies to it as well.
I always just assumed the loud noises were caused by bad FFB settings so I made mine to where it doesn’t do that
What settings did you use to get rid of the noise? Don't have the wheel, but wonder how much noise it would make if iI turned down the Force feedback.
@@terence77o7turn it down from what I have seen, I just ordered mine before seeing these vids about the noise so I’m already looking at fixes just in case. People say it depends on the game, but turning down the FFB settings can help
Just ordered on Ali express, it's my last resort to revitalize the wheel, my chassis cracked. Can't wait for it to arrive. Thank you for the video :D .
The common cracking around the bearing housing can also be fixed with a dremel, a large jubilee clip (hose clamp) and some patience!
You just have to keyhole the support ribs around the bearing housing, feed the jubilee clip through and tighten down.
Completely removed all of the play in my wheel!
Did it come with an empty box or what. I want to order it but afraid 🥹
Do all this... or turn down vibration settings to 35.
my 10 year old g27 never did anywhere near those noises, it is silent
The difference is incredible, but I would rather do something about the gear system or the brushed motors themselves.
I have the g920, and it's quiet it all l depends on your personal settings in game play
I’ve took apart a lot a lot of tech and I’m disappointed in the insides of this wheel. Same motors as an rc car lol
My G923 on the PS5 doesn't do much noise either way. Maybe it depends more on having the right FFB settings on each game?
100% from what I have read
it's better to go direct drive.
check the price.
I bought this mod for my G923 and it doesn't sound at all.... in fact it sounds much less than what is shown in the video 😅
cheaper way or free is "TURN DOWN THE EFFECTS to 5%!"
Link is already dead?
Can confirm, link provided is dead.
Try again guys, sorry about that
its the same
Think better to save that $40 to save for a dd wheel:)
Is it me or the mod didnt make a difference
It's 'Yanny or Laurel' all over again
@@dannyleeracing 🤣
Yeah nothing this video is bs
Heres the best way to make your Logitech wheel silent: sell it and buy a direct drive wheelbase
Exactly!
I mean if you're buying new hardware, definitely. If you're running old stuff you bought years ago and aren't ready to spend hundreds on a better wheel and a strong enough base to handle the upgrade, this seems like a worthwhile stopgap modification.
When it opens up, it looks even cheaper inside. Thanks to some of companies making DD wheels with reasonable price.
turn ffb off that will not happen.
